Hi @TruffleMama welcome and congratulations. How exciting to be having your first baby. Hope all goes well for you.

Ukbentley · 04/09/2020 21:36

Congratulations truffle,I'm in a 2 bed also and it's a nightmare I'm having to do major declutter,I started buying a couple of weeks ago as I don't want to leave it all until I can hardly walk😂and just want to spend the 3 trimester relaxing as I feel I'm never off my feet,I bought my pram this week and bassinest and little bits and pieces of clothes, because I had my little girl 3 and half years ago I never kept anything so starting from scratch, feel the urge though as this will probably be my last baby to go a bit mad with buying but in the same hand I haven't got the room

Im in the same boat @Ukbentley I'm literally doing one room at a time and literally throwing everything. I get what you mean about buying things, I might start soon.

TruffleMama · 05/09/2020 08:08

Same here!
DP and I are in a one bed flat. We'd been TTC for so long, we never thought it was going to happen, so we never thought to move to a bigger place in preparation.

We started looking for places when we found out I'm pregnant, but we're still struggling to find an area that meets both our requirements. I need good train access into central London for work. DP drives to and from work, so ideally he doesn't want to spend half his day driving and half his wages on petrol.

We've resigned ourselves to the fact that we will very likely still be in our one bed flat when baby arrives. We don't really want the added stress of house hunting while I'm pregnant.

We're having to move a chest of drawers out if the bedroom and into the living room in order to fit the cotbed into the bedroom.
We don't have masses of stuff, but over the past couple of weeks, we've started to clear out some bits here and there to make extra space. Unfortunately, we don't have loft space, but my mother does and she is happy for us to store some larger bits there (like our holiday suitcases).

It is what it is, and we will make do with the space we have as best as possible.

Ukbentley · 05/09/2020 09:43

My little girl stayed in my room for 2 years,I found that if you get storage dividers for your drawers you will be ok,how many weeks are you?

That's a good idea. We've also got a 'tall boy', which we will remain in the bedroom. We will use that to store DD's clothes. DP and I will just have to venture 5 paces to the living room where our chest of drawers will be moved to. We've invested in a load of storage boxes too to go under the bed and on top of the wardrobes. Just started putting summer clothing in them as I won't be needing them for much longer. No so much because of the weather change, but more so because none of it fits anymore LOL!

I'm 21+6 now.

Ukbentley · 05/09/2020 14:12

I'm sure you will be fine, that's exactly what I'm doing just now, clearing out and trying to find better storage solutions that is compact and easy to grab things when I need,I also am not buying changing table etc as I find I just changed my baby on my knee, couch or bed etc with cloth down just more clutter we don't need, also I've only bought a bassinest this time for the first 5 months then I can think about something longer term after that,I had a little girl my first pregnancy too, also another good one is the angle are bath support for your own bath doesn't take up really any room and is just brilliant took me to buying 2 different baths that were no good to come across this

OP posts:
Ukbentley · 05/09/2020 16:20

Angelcare bath support it's called, this phone😂

Aw just saw your message great minds think alike,I'm good had my consultant appointment today it went well,I'm going to get an elective section so at least I know what is happening, was 6 months yesterday can't believe how fast this seems to be going, sickness has finally left so that has been a relief, how are you?

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 17/09/2020 17:31

Haha how ironic is that we both messaged.

Thats good news I'm glad you have an idea of what's happening. I can't believe how fast its going I'm 23 weeks on Saturday and still haven't bought a thing yet. We've been poorly with a cold since last week but other than that were OK. Had my diabetes test last Monday and not heard anything so assuming I'm OK as it's been over a week. Just got midwife appointments, anti d appointment and extra scan at 34 weeks to see if placenta has moved or not.

Have you thought of any names (don't have to say the name of its a secret) we had one chosen that I loved now partner doesn't know if he likes it anymore lol,he was the one that chose it 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ukbentley · 17/09/2020 22:48

We have all had a cold and cough for 10 days little girl got it from the nursery, doctor wanted me tested but was negative so that was good,my midwife has advised me to get everything in very soon in case we go back into lockdown but I'm nearly Finnished already husband thinks I'm mad but I like to be organised maybe sometimes too much,I'm calling my baby William after my late father so feeling very happy about that, what names do you like?have you been emotional at any points in this pregnancy?me and husband went out for lunch today and before I knew it I was crying haha then 10 minutes later I felt perfect

OP posts:
Ukbentley · 17/09/2020 22:50

Also my husband choosed my little girls name and he thought he was choosing this one too haha he said we will just call him after me I was thinking no way it's my turn

OP posts:
StaceImpactWfan · 18/09/2020 08:35

Oh crap I didnt think about another lockdown. Once I've stopped coughing etc we will have to go get the basics and then hope it's enough to get us by. If not I can always order things.

I named our eldest (Elijah) my partner named our middle (cyrus) and deal was this time of it was a boy I named (was going to be Gabriel). If a girl he named, he wanted to name her Tala (which means gold in farsi) but I didn't like it on its own so I said Talayeh which we agreed and now I love but he's not sure anymore lol, but there's 2 more I like so hoping he picks one of the 3 lol.

StaceImpactWfan · 18/09/2020 08:35

William is a lovely name by the way.

Mrs173 · 18/09/2020 09:11

Glad everyone is Doing ok. We had one boy and one girl name picked from 11 weeks 😂 and it was the easiest thing ever haha just hope neither of us change our mind!! We didn’t even discuss names. My movements are annoying in that I hardly feel him or her much - I don’t have an anterior placenta but baby is just so low and maybe facing backwards?! Saturday he or she was moving lots and higher up for once and hubby felt for the first time but I’ve barely felt them since just the occasional move - hard to not get anxious about it all! 24 weeks on Sunday and even that feels like a big milestone to get to!
It’s great to have a group where we are all at the same or similar points in pregnancy!

Ukbentley · 18/09/2020 09:25

They are lovely unusual names,I've struggled a little trying to get sizes online for like newborn upwards but it changes everyday just need to keep looking,I had reduced movement last week for 4 days but left it as was slightly under 24 weeks and when I saw midwife she was not happy about me not phoning triage she gave me a nhs card that said from 20 weeks if you get reduced movement you have to contact triage and get checked, she checked and everything was ok but she stressed to me the importance as that's how they found out my first baby was not growing properly at 31 weeks I had reduced movement and just phoned but everything turned out ok in the end

OP posts:
Ukbentley · 18/09/2020 09:58

Congratulations mrs173,I know what you mean about getting anxious I never went to sleep last week until 3am as I tried my best to see if baby would move as he hadn't moved all day and he never did that night either I was so tired I finally just fell asleep,he did move a little the next day though,my baby is facing the back head down low and I feel like I need to pee all the time as he is leaning on my bladder hospital have said and also most of my movements are low on my belly them sometimes he moves up a little and feel movement in the middle, but I'm certainly just going to phone if it happens again and just give myself some peace

OP posts:
Mrs173 · 18/09/2020 10:33

Thanks @Ukbentley yes I think I might phone midwive today and get some peace. I’m just conscious that because it’s my first baby and we have previously had a miscarriage I think they will think I’m overreacting! It’s my birthday tomorrow and DH and I are supposed to go away for the day so I don’t really want to not enjoy it as with Covid creeping right up again it might be our last proper day out together just the 2 of us before baby!
Also I live in one trust and plan to have baby at another trust so I don’t actually know who I’m supposed to call! 🙈

Ukbentley · 18/09/2020 12:20

Midwife also told me have a nice drink of cold water,a sweetie or something to eat then lay on your left side in quiet not on phone or so for 30 to 40 mins

Hello all, insure if ppoated already, ir owrhapsnon a very similar (due jan 2021 thread)

I am expecting my 5th child. We are having a girl. I'm 22 plus weeks and very excited

Ukbentley · 22/09/2020 10:43

Hi mrs123 how did you get on with the movement now

OP posts:
Mrs173 · 22/09/2020 12:14

Hi @Ukbentley Thanks for asking 😘 I went for a lie down before calling and I could feel bubs moving around plenty. Has definitely been more active the last couple of days I just think it’s a very different sensation as it’s all still so low down the movement (hoping he or she moves up and discovers the rest of the space soon!) hope you and everyone else are doing ok. Feels great to be past 24 weeks now and know that if I have any concerns with movements in future I will be able to go in for full monitoring.

Ukbentley · 22/09/2020 12:52

That's really good,I have different feeling too not as strong but think baby is really low down and can feel bubbling popping feeling so happy with that I'm sure it will change soon, becomes so much more real when you hit 6 months I think,I have had a rough week feel very uncomfortable lots of stretching and cramps at the side of my bump and my back has been very sore just struggling to get comfortable and felt emotional at points because I feel sleep deprived because of it so hoping it eases a little soon
