@Hancock2020 absolutely, this must be so stressful for you. But if you were worked for that long sounds like you will be eligible for maternity allowance. You can start that from I think 11 weeks before you’re due too, so if you need some money earlier that could help x

wannabebump · 04/06/2020 14:20

@Hancock2020 citizens advice/Acas or similar will be able to talk you through all the options for what you're entitled to x

So now we've had time to absorb everything, we've decided that once we hear full details about our packages then we will be claiming UC then maternity allowance whilst hubby looks for work. But in the mean time we have enough saved (our house deposit 🥺 as we've withdrawn from the mortgage application) to see us through a few months so we are taking the opportunity to up sticks out of my mothers flat and moving to another area that we wanted to go to anyway but couldn't because of jobs.
So, silver linings and all that. We are still so devastated because we sacrificed so much for 2 years but at least we managed our goal of having our little jellybean this year 🥰

wannabebump · 04/06/2020 19:18

@Hancock2020 keep looking at the positives - the new area you want to move to and your baby x

I'm in a right pickle now, I've had a root canal tooth that's been giving me a bit of trouble and dentist was trying to hang on until they were open again to check it etc. Today I have a lump on my gum at the tooth that's painful so I've had to phone them back. Now referred to emergency dental hospital tomorrow and been advised to expect it to be extracted as it sounds like a vertical fracture and there's nothing they can do to save it (and certainly nothing due to covid - no treatment options, extractions only). And I am terrified of the dentist. I manage with my own one, built up a relationship, she's very understanding and so patient with me but this has me in a right flap. Needles aren't the issue - I give blood, have tattoos and piercings etc - it's the fact it's my mouth. Freaking out so much right now. X

Hey all I'm wondering if use have any advice, I've been getting little sharp pains on my left side on my stomach (if that makes sense) what do use reckon this is ? Do use think it's anything to worry about ? The pains aren't there all the time

SqidgeBum · 04/06/2020 20:51

@Murphy1999 I imagine its stretching and muscle pains but if you are worried maybe text your midwife. Sometimes its a good idea to check to be sure.

Pink15 · 04/06/2020 21:33

@wannabebump aww poor you :( good luck at the dentist

@Murphy1999 it could be round ligament pain - is it worse on sneezing or moving? But like @SqidgeBum said always safest to double check with your midwife

FilthyforFirth · 05/06/2020 08:17

Morning all. Has anyone had a very noticable pulsing in their tummy? I am only 15+2 so can't be movement from the baby. It started about an hour ago and is very visible. Not constant but on and off. It feels and looks very strange! Anyone else experience this?

AnxiousLady1 · 05/06/2020 08:49

@FilthyforFirth Yep I've had this for weeks now (17+5). Any time I sit on couch and look down I can see it pulsing through my top. I looked it up a while back and I think it just said it's normal due to the increased blood flow pumping around down there.

FilthyforFirth · 05/06/2020 09:15

Ah thanks @anxiouslady1. That sounds right. I knew it was far too early for movement!

OurLittlePumpkin · 05/06/2020 09:56

Has anyone's 'bump' deflated a bit? I'm wondering now if what I thought was a bump was just bloat? I'm 17 weeks

AnxiousLady1 · 05/06/2020 09:59

@OurLittlePumkin Mine is always smaller in the mornings. By evening it is at its biggest. I think that just naturally happens due to muscles relaxing overnight etc.

Hancock2020 · 05/06/2020 10:04

@OurLittlePumpkin I keep asking DH if my bump has got smaller and he looks st me like I've gone mad lol. But he always assures me it hasnt, so maybe it's all in our minds because we are expecting to be bigger by now lol

AnxiousLady1 · 05/06/2020 10:31

@Hancock2020 I keep thinking that. I'm convinced I'm still the same size now as I was 6 weeks ago. But my DH keeps telling me in getting bigger by the day, and I measure my bump once a week and seems to be growing. I think it happens so gradually and we are so used to looking at ourselves in mirror that we don't notice it as much. 😂

Hancock2020 · 05/06/2020 11:07

I decided I needed something good in my life right now so I just booked a gender scan for next sunday, I cant wait!

Tiniestsky · 05/06/2020 11:08

Hey ladies, looking for a bit reassurance really, I'm not in any pain or anything but for the last few days my stomach has been uncomfortable, I'd got used to the ligament pains when I moved or sneezed but between my digestive system being all over the show with trapped wind then trumping to the point my bf wants to sleep downstairs 😂 the whole of my stomach kinda aches and is tender. I can deal with it up high cos i can put it down to digestive but it's all around the uterus area too. Is his normal pregnancy? Is everyone feeling something or other?

Crispaddict99 · 05/06/2020 13:50

@OurLittlePumpkin Yeah, mine has definitely deflated. I'm 17 weeks too. Most of my earlier 'bump' must have been bloat. As the others are saying, it gets bigger throughout the day but is always flatter in the morning. I have a panic every morning that there's nothing in there. I spend the first half hour googling pics and you tube videos before I eventually persuade myself everything is ok. It's so reassuring to hear others feel the same, maybe I'm not going mad after all! 🤪

MrsR87 · 05/06/2020 13:56

I feel like my bump is smaller than last week! And as others have said, it gets bigger throughout the day and then smaller again in the morning.

Crispaddict99 · 05/06/2020 14:02

@Tiniestsky Yeah I get this too. I'm also having digestive problems and it's sometimes hard to determine where the pain is coming from. But I do sometimes feel discomfort in the uterus area and I'm just putting it down to things moving and stretching in there xx

SqidgeBum · 05/06/2020 14:10

My bump is massive! I am 18+4. Nothing fits!! I cant lift my DD out of her cot anymore unless she stand up. I am already finding doing the dishes hard as there is a tummy in the way and I am not tall 😭 my mother in law gas already made a "are you sure it's not twins" comment which always grates on me.

futuredreams · 05/06/2020 14:17

Mine is up and down every day. Some days it can be quite uncomfortable sitting at my desk working and some days I'm completely fine! It's weird. I have had to order new knickers tho cus mine are digging in badly. Can't wait for them to arrive 😂

Hancock2020 · 05/06/2020 14:24

@squidgebum my mum says the exact same thing 🙄

Murphy1999 · 05/06/2020 14:51

@SqidgeBum @Pink15 thanks for replying the pain went away a wee bit later after I showered etc so I put it down to stretching pains etc, I had an unexpected phone call from the midwife this morning as she's going on holiday and just wanted to check in on me, she put it down to stretching too and nothing too concerning unless it gets worse/bleeding etc then to phone triage
Thanks tho.

NatalieH2220 · 05/06/2020 14:54

@Hancock2020 That's a good idea, how exciting! I have mine a week on Saturday, counting down the days now.

My bump is also bigger at night, some mornings I feel like it has disappeared completely!

Addler · 05/06/2020 15:19

My GP has referred me to a gynae physio, the back pain I've had since 8 weeks is only getting worse. Went for a walk with DP two days ago and after 30 mins had to give up and shuffle home holding my back and hips and then could hardly walk yesterday.

Not looking forward to the next 5 1/2 months!
