I have packed hospital bag now at 33 weeks but that's as the midwife said I need to make sure I am prepared on holiday, as we're sneaking in a week in Cornwall at a holiday lodge. Got to take my notes to.
I am going to add snacks and some better clothes closer to the time but I still need the nice clothes currently. We've got cereal bars and individual cereal pots to pack so far.

I was over for my daughter by 15 days and she was 8.7 so again not crazy big. I have no idea what will happen this time.

On the heat front Lidl are currently selling a child's paddling pool for £10 we bought it for my daughter (obviously for me really to cope in the heat 😆)

Oh @squashie34 I had some 'hot' tears yesterday- for some reason I thought it was a good idea to make beef stroganoff!! (It wasn't - & ended up in the bin!). I've joined you in the 4 am club too!

Envious of your trip to Cornwall @cannotmakemymindup, my parents life there and I'm desperate to go and get on my paddle board - although not sure it would work out well atm!

Can I just check whether those that have packed have washed clothes? If so was it just non-bio powder and conditioner or no conditioner? (Just thinking it's quite scented)!

Firstmummytobe · 26/06/2020 17:51

@WorriedButterfly I think to be honest I’m one of the first due being 35 weeks so I’m all prepared and have washed all of his clothes!!

I’ve used fairy non bio liquid and I did use fabric conditioner but it’s a special one by comfort specially for babies 😊
(P.s my boyfriend has been washing all of our clothes with this fabric conditioner too because it smells absolutely unreal 😍 )

2020Aug · 26/06/2020 17:53

@Newmama29 my Braxton hicks seem to have got worse now and had a few period style cramps. I'm 33+2 so hoping its things not happening yet!

I've had quite a few episodes of reduced movement so theyve said if it continues I might be induced early, but really hoping I can hold on and go into labour naturally (obviously if it's best for the baby I'll do whatever I need to)!

@Worriedbutterfly I've just used fairy with no conditioner. My skin is quite sensitive so thought I better not in case baby takes after me!

Flutterbunny · 26/06/2020 18:03

I’m using Fairy Non-Bio and Comfort Pure Fab Con for washing babies clothes in - my SIL has used that for her two who have sensitive skin and swears by it.

Reading all of this I am feeling very unorganised. No hospital bag yet, my baby currently doesn’t even have a bed to sleep in nor do we have a car seat or pram. I’m 32weeks today so maybe a few weeks behind some of you but I need to get my act together!!

WorriedButterfly · 26/06/2020 18:12

Me too @Flutterbunny 32 wks tomorrow and nothing packed nor a bed or car seat! 😬

Flutterbunny · 26/06/2020 18:18

That makes me feel better @WorriedButterfly - at this rate we will be stranded in the hospital and our OHs will have to go on a mad dash to the shops!
God only knows what mine would turn up with though haha!

heroineinahalfshell · 26/06/2020 18:26

I have a feeling DH will insist he doesn't need a bag, and then regret it!

Went to the clinic today as hadn't feel little one move all day. She met the criteria after being hooked up to the CTG for 30 mins, but because it was my 2nd time going in for reduced movements in 3 weeks, they've asked me to go back on Monday for more monitoring and Weds for a scan. Glad I went in, it's been an odd week with her not being in a pattern so glad I got checked.

Oldestchild90s · 26/06/2020 18:28

I started my baby washes yesterday, and used the same stuff. It smells absolutely amazing! I'm yet to buy a bedside crib so i need to get my backside in gear but i'm hoping to get the last of my hospital essentials next week! Can't believe in a few weeks we'll all be/nearly be full term!

Newmama29 · 26/06/2020 18:33

@2020Aug how do you know if it’s braxton hicks? Google tell you it’s like tightenings which I have had but thought it was more baby changing position

Oldestchild90s · 26/06/2020 19:07

I'm sorry to keep posting on here today 🤦🏼‍♀️🙈 but i have nowhere else to go. Has anyone experienced like a numbness just below the sternum? Is this anything to worry about ?

squashie34 · 26/06/2020 19:11

@WorriedButterfly oh you poor thing 😅 isn't it so funny the things that set us off. My partner asked why I was crying and when I said because I was hot he laughed and then I cried even more 🤣

I'm 35 weeks tomorrow and hospital bag is all packed. Washed all the things before with non-bio and the comfort baby fabric conditioner like lots of others in here. Also made the mistake of ironing it all, now it's been in food bags for a week in the hospital bag it's creased to s**t again so I needn't have bothered 🙈

squashie34 · 26/06/2020 19:11

35 weeks sunday* wishing it all away! 😂

cannotmakemymindup · 26/06/2020 19:57

Yep I have used Persil non bio powder and comfort fabric conditioner. It's what we've always used with my daughter and never had any problems.

I have only washed all the clothes etc as I haven't been at work and this weather over lockdown has been perfect for drying quickly. I don't have a tumble dryer so have to dry outside on dry days. Bedside Crib still needs to go up but I was waiting until after our holiday.

@heroineinahalfshell it is so hard if they decide to not be in a pattern!

@Oldestchild90s I haven't ever had that sorry.

@WorriedButterfly we're not seeing any of friends like normal when we go to Cornwall. It's more for my daughter as she really hasn't been anywhere for months and I know with baby coming and our family going from a trio upto four it's going to be a big change, so I think it'll be nice to do this one thing of normalcy for her in a very strange year! Although I to am looking forward to travelling further than the local hospital.

OH's mum has washed all our baby clothes so far, think she just got that fairy stuff.

My travel set still hasn't arrived 🙈 ordered it that weekend of the baby show in May. I'm at the point now where I've ordered everything that I can think of except Nursery furniture (cotbed, changing unit etc) but I'm scared I've forgotten something important.

WorriedButterfly · 26/06/2020 20:29

It sounds lovely @cannotmakemymindup - enjoy, what a year it's been!

Thank you for all the conditioner suggestions. Our NCT starts tomorrow so I get washing on Sunday!

Beth804 · 26/06/2020 22:10

Ahh, you are all making me jumpy now! I haven't packed anything and still need to build cots/wash clothes etc
I'm only 32 weeks, but having twins and just got induction date of 31st July! 5 weeks today eeek! I need to get on it!

Definitely going to steal snack/packing ideas from you ladies!

1Jayne · 27/06/2020 18:11

Hi everyone, I'm 33 weeks today.

Think I've got most things now but none of it is set up or washed. We were going to paint the nursery last week but then hit problems and ended up needing to get a plasterer! Thankfully the plasterer has now been, next step is the new carpet on Thursday. No idea when we are going to get the room painted now though 😟

Things are starting to get real...

JMill13 · 27/06/2020 18:35

@1Jayne we keep putting off doing the nursery. I want it done but at the same time I'm hoping we'll have found, bought and moved into a new house by the time baby actually needs the nursery but then again we may not find one and need to get my arse in gear and actually get the room done now I'm 32 weeks 🙈

1Jayne · 27/06/2020 18:43

@JMill13 my husband had the week off last week to do the decorating but now we are both back working so no time for it to be done. Everything is currently still in boxes and for all I know baby won't be using the room at first as it will be in with us I just want it sorted and my house looking like it's ready!☺. Good luck finding a new house, that sounds far too stressful to me right now.

Firstmummytobe · 27/06/2020 19:02

Our nursery is all done and finished and has been for 5 weeks, I feel like it’s because I’m really impatient and want my other half to do everything yesterday😂🤣

heroineinahalfshell · 27/06/2020 19:10

@1Jayne I'm also 33w today! We haven't done anything in the nursery other than put baby clothes in the dresser - it doesn't need painting as already a nice yellow colour, but I want to put up some wall stickers and other decorative bits. A friend is gifting us their old cot but with covid we've not been to pick it up yet. All on hold for now really as it looks like DH will be WFH til at least January so we need the room for his home office.... we could move the desk to another room but it seems a faff when she'll be in our room for the first 6 months anyway.

I've bought everything for my hospital bag (except snacks) but not packed it yet, but have washed all the newborn and 0-3 clothes we've got. Feel like we're sort of half-ready.

JMill13 · 27/06/2020 19:15

@1Jayne we're the same, both working full time and then weekends we can't be bothered. Actually haven't even bought the furniture yet to be fair. Yeah buying a house now probably isn't the best of ideas 😂 not rushing it though so not stressing. We're renting now so we're in no rush to get out.

We'll all get there eventually though with nursery's and hospital bags etc.

Oldestchild90s · 27/06/2020 19:31

@1Jayne i'm another at 33w today 🥳 we've decorated her room and laid new carpet but there's still lots to buy and finish. Have packed the baby bag but still need to go out and get some hospital bits for me yet! I feel like 7 weeks is still ages but considering we're already this far it's not actually long at all!

Bert2020 · 27/06/2020 20:15

We are waiting to find out if we will complete on our house move before or after baby so not doing anything as yet. We’ve most things already thankfully just in boxes and bags. Time seems to be absolutely flying past! It’s July on Wednesday which is only the month before all the babies arrive Shock
