@Baba11 fingers crossed is wrong dates. My midwife has asked for the clinic to refer me and they may scan me in 2 weeks. Just got to keep everything crossed and positive thoughts x

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 12:49

@Lollipop93 thank you. I wish I had been more patient and waiting for my scan but wanted to know it was ok. Positive was is in the right place and she said it all looked on just didn’t see what I was expecting. I know that have to be safe and cover themselves but she said she can’t guarantee anything but implied it could be 7 weeks and stopped growing :( not what I wanted to hear so trying to stay positive and tell myself the two negative tests which should have been positive as they would have been 2 and 7 days passed when the app said I was due on means my dates are wrong x

May I join?

I got a BFP yesterday. Huge surprise as we weren’t trying. I’m in my 40s and have three kids already? The eldest is 14!

If there is an FB group I’d love to join. I am still friends with my Mumsnet antenatal threads from 2006, 2008 and 2013!

Lollipop93 · 21/05/2020 13:09

@MayBug2020 I know you will have just wanted to have a wee look in and see, it’s natural and the wait is unbearable. (I hate going through the wait just now) Just look after yourself take it easy and just try take your mind off it with anything (I know that is easier said than done) I wish there was a definite answer for you lovely. But as long as there is no bleeding or pain then the chances are on your side. You’ll be ok xxxxx

Skyla01 · 21/05/2020 13:18

@Lollipop93 not much sickness yet but tiredness has hit me like a ton of bricks today. I was just thinking how hard it would be if I had other kids and couldn't just lie on the sofa like I am doing now!

@MayBug2020 sorry you didn't get the news you wanted. I know it's hard. Many people get dates a bit wrong and so early the embryo is tiny and you won't see heartbeat so probably really hard for the scan to see very much. FC for your next scan.

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 13:19

@Lollipop93 thank you - I know there isn’t anything I can do other that look after myself and worrying isn’t going to be any good. I am trying to be positive and keep my mind busy for a couple of weeks :) thank you - this group is a life saver xx

Carabu1 · 21/05/2020 13:27

@maybug2020 I have my fingers crossed for you. It could def be dates are off though - plus at my panicked epu scan they did say dating when you’re very early is not very accurate, and lots of babies catch up. I know you must be so worried but hang in there!

@FirstTimeMumAt31 - glad it’s not just me! I was starting to feel jealous of all those people with dates in the diary. Just got to be patient...turns out that isn’t my strong suit.

8 weeks today (I think?!) and have a private scan tomorrow afternoon. I am feeling sick, but with worry not ms. Even my husband has gone deathly quiet....! I really hope it’s ok, as I so want him to see the hb and get the excitement I had at the epu!

Mumof4andahalf · 21/05/2020 13:38

Welcome @PastaBolognaise I've got 4 kids and also in my 40's
I'm terrified 🤣

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 13:47

@Skyla01 @Carabu1 thank you I have everything crossed! Xx

Mumof4andahalf · 21/05/2020 13:51

I've joined the Facebook page but I've only just set up a profile! Initials HJ

Ladies who have had early scans, how far along were you when you had your first scan? I’ve booked one for when I think I’ll be about 6.5 weeks so my husband can come too (and we both have the day off!) but now wonder if it might be a bit early? This is all new to me!

Carabu1 · 21/05/2020 14:07

@lilypad2020 I had an unexpected one at 6-6.5 after scary brown spotting. I had been planning to wait for 7 weeks, but moved that one back to 8ish weeks (tomorrow!) as id already paid deposit and husband couldn’t come into epu. I think hang on for 7 if you can or you may just get more worried if you’re earlier than you thought?

Baba11 · 21/05/2020 14:23

@Carabu1 so excited for you and all the other ladies who have scans tmrw and over weekend. Do you have to drink lots for this scan?

@MayBug2020 try and keep busy chick. We are all here for each other. Try and enjoy every day as it comes F.C. for next scan when u will see your baba.

angelalaland · 21/05/2020 14:28

I’m 7 weeks and still waiting on midwife! I work for the NHS so trying not to be too pushy but it is my first and I have been feeling awful

Lilypad2020 · 21/05/2020 14:34

Just catching up on posts properly.. @MayBug2020 do you think you could have ovulated later? I have longer cycles and think I probably ovulated later than day 30 (so my dates are way off) it might be that you’ve done the same? Fingers crossed for your next scan, try and take it easy in the meantime Smile

Lilypad2020 · 21/05/2020 14:48

@Carabu1 thank you, yeah I might do that. I hope that your scan goes well Smile

Mumof4andahalf · 21/05/2020 14:49

@Lilypad2020 I had one previously at 6 + 2 and you couldn't see much at all, iwould try and hold out for 7 weeks.

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 14:54

@Lilypad2020 from my experience today I would try and hold out to at least 7-8weeks. I thought I was 7 but clearly not and now it’s just caused more worry. I am hoping it could be a late ovulation as the only thing I was going on was 1 period which is apparently a withdrawal bleed and then what the app said about when I was predicted but I have no idea on my cycle as I have been on the pill for 12years. Xx

GMay1991 · 21/05/2020 14:57

Hi everyone. It’s nice to see some names I recognise from the TTC buses. I got my BFP yesterday and CB says 1-2 weeks pregnant. Quick question which I’m sure has been answered on these threads before so apologies 🙈 I want to book an early scan for reassurance and I know they will scan from 6 weeks pregnant. My last period was 4 weeks ago and i ovulated 2 weeks ago. Am I 2 weeks pregnant or 4? this affects how soon I can book the scan. I’m still a bit in shock!

PastaBolognaise · 21/05/2020 15:30

@BabyG123 you are 4 weeks. Congratulations.

I echo @MayBug2020 in saying wait until about 8 weeks. From my previous pregnancies I can remember that 6 week scans show very little and I twice had @maybug’s experience of not showing as far a long as I thought I was and then worrying a lot. Seriously, early scans can cause far more anxiety than they take away. The good news is that all my worry was pointless as I ended up with healthy babies.

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 16:18

@PastaBolognaise it’s reassuring to hear that you have experienced what I have but continued to have a healthy pregnancy it is very worrying but trying to remain positive. I know there is nothing I can do but if there is any advice I would be greatly appreciative. Xx

Skyla01 · 21/05/2020 16:20

@Pastabolognaise I agree, I think early scans sound like they can be as stressful for some as they can be reassuring for others! A bit like early pregnancy tests. I'm going to wait for 12wk scan and fingers crossed everything will be fine (for all of us) x

Mumof4andahalf · 21/05/2020 16:24

@MayBug2020 my last pregnancy I knew the exact day of conception but going by LMP and when I thought inoculated I was 6 days further o than I thought. Try not to worry although I know how hard it is x

MayBug2020 · 21/05/2020 16:40

@Mumof4andahalf it’s so confusion I g working out the dates. I still have symptoms of sore breasts and nausea so looking at them as good signs. Congratulations on your pregnancy :)

Mumof4andahalf · 21/05/2020 16:42

@MayBug2020 that's good you're getting symptoms! Thankyou x
