Hi ladies, I just wanted to reply to @LouR2408 about the overweight pregnancy thing from the end of the last thread. I'm big - like size 18-20 clothes - and was with my first pregnancy 3 years ago. Apart from my weight I'm healthy and I didn't get gestational diabetes or anything. I was treated really well and all my scans were totally fine.

I was initially told that due to my weight I couldn't give birth in the birth centre or in water, but I really wanted to and so I advocated for myself hard - eventually made an appointment to discuss with the birth centre head midwife at 7 months. She was supportive and signed me off to be triaged to the birth centre for a water birth, instead of to the labour ward. So that's what I did and it was SOOOO great. The only concession that they wanted from me was that my birth partner (in my case my hubby) would agree to pull me out of the pool if I fainted, in case I was too heavy for them to handle! HA HA! Needless to say that didn't happen :)

So definitely don't worry and don't beat yourself up. You've got every right to enjoy your pregnancy and your birth, just like any mum to be! Good luck

@Pol96 @Baba11 - I did actually call on Monday, and they were a bit shirty with me tbh. They said they are doing them in order of due date and they won’t get to me for at least 2 more weeks (ie 10 weeks!) it’s a huge research intensive women’s hospital in the midlands, so I guess they know what they’re doing. It’s a bit worrying though.

On a brighter note I have a private scan booked Friday when I’ll be 8+1. Hoping it’s all ok. I feel great atm - no tiredness, sickness or really anything else. Like you @pol96 I wish I felt worse, ha.

LALR2615 · 20/05/2020 16:14

Hey, I've been lurking for a week or so got my BFP early last week and by my dates I'm about 6+5 but think I'm earlier due to irregular cycles. I have a Jan 2018 baby and the Facebook group I have from mums net was my complete lifeline in the early days! I did read about a Facebook group was wondering if someone could add me too it if possible please :-)

Pol96 · 20/05/2020 16:41

@Carabu1 at least you have a scan booked on Friday to look forward to. I only got referred by the surgery yesterday and she said the midwife will call me.. Didn't give any kind of time frame so just wondered what others experiences were. The not feeling a lot of symptoms is a bit annoying isn't it!? I bet once we get hit with it all in full force we'll wish we didn't have any again! I'm tired and I think my boobs are finally starting to get a tiny bit sore.. But that's about it.. Oh and I've gone of chocolate atm.. Which is really weird for me as I love chocolate 😂

Welcome and congratulations @LALR2615 if you look on page 1 of this thread you'll find the link I believe

BabyG123 · 20/05/2020 17:02

@MayBug2020 glad I'm not alone I just like to know all is ok before I put my real name out there 🤪 how exciting I think the midwife said 5th January. I was however tracking as know I have long cycles so from my calculations I'm due 15th January.

@WoolyMammoth55 I don't know why your post made me laugh but I'm the same as you. Was with DS1. I had a c section anwye because of my small pelvis I apparently have he got stuck so half expecting that again.

@Carabu1 so strange as I've been given a date and time. What if you can't answer 🤷🏻‍♀️

afternoon ladies, just catching up on the messages. I am so glad we have this group as everything I have thought you have too. I got worried the other day that my nausea had reduced and my breasts didn’t feel as sore and I am wanting to wake up feeling sick every day. Crazy we are wishing to feel ill.

I am also working from home and really struggling in the mornings with nausea and focusing! It’s so hard...

MayBug2020 · 20/05/2020 17:08

@BabyG123 I know I am not saying anything to anyone until 12 weeks and I am trying not to get too excited. My midwife gave me the date of 5th Jan but will hopefully know more of an exact date tomorrow after my early scan. Do you think you will opt for an early scan x

Beautybake5 · 20/05/2020 17:35

Hey everyone, wondering if anyone's got any advice I took a clearblue on 11/5 which said I'm 2-3 weeks. I've just took another one as hoping would see 3+ but it says 2-3 again! Now I'm worried something is wrong and wish I didn't test. It should deffinetly be 3+ as I tested over a week ago, just wondered if anyone's got any ideas as to why thats happend, I'm trying not to think the worst x

Skyla01 · 20/05/2020 17:42

Why are we all wishing to be sick?! Will definitely be regretting that in a few weeks! My boobs are still sore so at least that's something.

@Carabu1 that's a bit rubbish. I guess that's the problem dealing with such a big centre. It shouldn't matter in the end though. Hope you hear soon.

@beautybake5 I wouldn't worry too much- the hormone concentration will depend on how much you've drank, and how long you've held your wee for. Perhaps your last test was fmu and stronger? I'm not doing a second test I think it would stress me out too much.

BabyG123 · 20/05/2020 17:59

@MayBug2020 ooo let us know tomorrow. I wasn't going and I'm actually waiting until 11 weeks souly so my DH gets to see the first scan as he can't with the nhs so we're going private too.

@Beautybake5 could you have been more of the 2 week end then so now you're borderline? And also first Morning wee?

No sickness with DS1 and hoping for a breezy pregnancy again!

So just told a white lie to my mother in law as I asked her to have ds1 the day of my scan but told her I had a blood test, she was like oh what for? Uh uh uh uh routine after a baby?! 🙄🤦🏼‍♀️

OP posts:
Beautybake5 · 20/05/2020 18:03

@BabyG123 no I should be 4+weeks now if going by conception or 6 weeks if going by Last period. But it wasn't a morning wee I did it at 5pm! So I'm hoping thats why x

MayBug2020 · 20/05/2020 18:05

@Beautybake5 I would try not to worry too much. I took a test and it should have said 3+ but was 2-3 and I am waiting for my early scan to confirm my dates as I am not sure. I have heard a few people say that the digital tests can sometimes be wrong xx

MayBug2020 · 20/05/2020 18:05

Is anyone else feeling they can’t take as much sun as normal? I love the sun and sit out in it but I can’t cope over the last few days!

StephS1984 · 20/05/2020 19:06

Hi everyone, hope you don’t mind me joining, I found out a few weeks ago that we had a BFP and have been silently reading the thread since. My EDD is 8 Jan, but I think I ovulated much earlier, so that might change, I’m now 6+5. This is my 2nd pregnancy, as had a mmc in January, so I am slightly nervous about this pregnancy. I have sore boobs, exhaustion and morning sickness, which has been a lot easier to hide from colleagues this time as now wfh.

Ash2345f · 20/05/2020 19:33

Hi I’ve just joined to I was worried it would show on my Facebook but had a lot of reassurance it’s private 🙈 we haven’t told anyone yet that’s all x

Skyla01 · 20/05/2020 20:12

@StephS1984 welcome & sorry for your previous loss. I think we are all a bit anxious, even those who have not had an experience like yours. Yes I agree in many ways the lockdown makes this stage a bit easier. Also no having to hide not drinking alcohol from friends. And nice quiet weekends- we can sit and watch t.v. all day if that's what we feel like. No plans to cancel if we are feeling rough. Silver lining and all that...!

Skyla01 · 20/05/2020 20:13

@MayBug2020 my workplace has been really hot and today I was struggling big time! Although that is not necessarily pregnancy related I guess. I've heard you need to be careful with sunscreen as you can burn quicker.

MayBug2020 · 20/05/2020 20:30

@StephS1984 congratulations and welcome to the group!

@Skyla01 I agree lockdown does have its advantages - even with lock down I few I have to be so careful what I say so couldn’t imagine being face to face with people and trying to kept it a secret. I did wondered if our skin would be more sensitive to the sun - will make sure I have cream on although I am choosing to sit in the shade at the moment.

Hope everyone is feeling ok this evening?? I think it’s going to be an early night so me - super tired xx

BabyG123 · 20/05/2020 20:31

@MayBug2020 unfortunately you'll have more sensitive skin. I used to have olive skin. DS1 pregnancy burnt easily and been like it ever since and also have dry skin! They change you 🤪

Anyone suffering from backache? I've literally just got my positive but my back is killing me

Littlebump2018 · 20/05/2020 20:48

Thanks for the new thread :)

MayBug2020 · 20/05/2020 21:11

@BabyG123 ahh I see - I have olive skin so will see what happens :)

@Mumof4andahalf I have a lower back ache for about a week around when I found out which would have been 5-6 weeks At the point - gets a bit achy every now and then :) xx

wearyofwigan · 20/05/2020 21:18

Hello all, these threads move fast so I'm worried if I post I'll never see any replies!

Just found out I'm pregnant with no. 2. I have. A little boy who is 3.5. Difficult journey to get here and we were at the beginning of fertility investigations.

I had hyperemesis last time, so am nervously waiting for the worst to kick in. Already have a prescription for medication to start tonight. I hope it won't be as bad but I'm prepared.

Hope everyone is well!

Newbyintown · 20/05/2020 21:48

@MayBug2020 I think we are the same 7+2 tomorrow :) good luck with the scan I had mine on Saturday and it was such a relief. Very emotional to see the heart beat.

I'm feeling so tired - I get moments were I just need to be in bed! Very hard to focus on work and zoom calls!!

Mumof4andahalf · 20/05/2020 21:51

@MayBug2020 im4 weeks bang on, never had symptoms this quick except for over sensitive smell. It's my giveaway everytime! X
