@Hopefulmummie oh hun!... how frustrating 😣 why did they not do internal this time though? 6 weeks is very early still yea, it would be really small still for normal scan, they should have done the internal one really :/ I know it's hard right now but try to trust what they say, they seem to be more on the confident side that everything is normal so far. Has your bleeding stopped now?

5+5

Baba11 · 06/06/2020 14:07

That's a shame. Could they see the sac atleast? If it was too early then they should have been able to do an internal examination. I guess she is right tho, no heavy bleeding is a good sign. Another 2 week wait!

Hopefulmummie · 06/06/2020 14:20

I thought they would've done an internal scan straight away but she didnt mention doing it until next appointment. She said my dates might not be correct and cause I'm only 6 weeks today it would be too early to see if dates were wrong.

Just have to be patient and wait 2 weeks until the next scan. She said to take another pregnancy test next week.
My bleeding seems to have stopped today

Bubbabee · 06/06/2020 14:50

@Hopefulmummie oh gosh how frustrating 😔. I'm sure everything will be just perfect and it's too early to tell. X

BabyG123 · 06/06/2020 14:52

@Hopefulmummie where was with scan? I can't believe they didn't do internal. At window to the womb they only offer internal before 12 weeks

@BabyG123
@bubbabee
I thought this place would've been the same it was ultrasound direct baby bond. I thought I read on their website they done internal at early scans

Baba11 · 06/06/2020 14:55

@Hopefulmummie that's great that the bleeding has stopped and you still have symptoms. 6 weeks is still early. Hopefully in 2 weeks you will get to see your baba.

Hopefulmummie · 06/06/2020 15:08

So I already had an 8 week scan booked with window to the womb on my 8 week date but the scan I was at today have rebooked me in for the same day (it's a different scan clinic) so I'm going to see if I can change my window to the womb on to next week and I'll be 7 weeks so I don't have to wait another 2 weeks

MayBug2020 · 06/06/2020 17:46

@Hopefulmummie sorry to hear you didn’t get the answers you wanted today but try not to worry. There is another chat called 8 week scan worries but talks about lots of experiences with early scans and not seeing anything and I have since heard happy stories about their second scans showing their little beans. I know it’s hard but try and relax, rest and think positive thoughts xx

BabyG123 · 06/06/2020 18:15

@Hopefulmummie sounds crazy that you paid for answers and they didn't help, I'd probably complain but means facing them again 🤪

@Hopefulmummie At my 8 week scan (by LMP, I was actually 7+3 by measurements) they couldn’t really see anything from the external scan. They didn’t try for long, but said it wasn’t clear at all, so they did an internal and all was fine and very clear. So it could just be that? I’m surprised they didn’t use internal though... Window to the Womb will use that as a first option, they said that to me anyway, so hopefully you’ll have a much better scan experience next week! ❤️

TerribleImagination · 06/06/2020 18:32

Also if your nausea has kicked in at 6 weeks, that’s a very good sign!! Sending love! ❤️

Hopefulmummie · 06/06/2020 18:35

@BabyG123 I know I was thinking the same lol

@terribleimagination I'm hoping it was just that. The more I read about it I'm so confused as to why they only used abdominal scan. If they couldn't see anything they should've scanned me internally.
Now just another week to wait.. feel like I'm in limbo

Bubbabee · 06/06/2020 19:13

Wow been up for hours on a night has taken its toll. I've literally just had a 5 hour nap! I feel so lazy but I most of needed it. X

Rupert1996 · 06/06/2020 19:53

Has anyone had a private scan and they have allowed your partner? Hope you're all doing well!

Carabu1 · 06/06/2020 19:56

@Hopefulmummie that’s so horrible for you having to do more waiting. However, as others have said I’m amazed they didn’t do internal so try not to read into it. WTTW were great with my early scans (I’m paranoid and had one at 8 and one at 10). The second one they could do external, but at 8 there was nothing to see on the external. Keep your chin up - you really can’t make much of nothing on external at this stage.

lilypad88 · 06/06/2020 20:18

@Rupert1996 haven't had it yet but phones them to ask about it and they said it's fine, I guess it depends on the place

LondonAfterMidnight · 06/06/2020 22:04

@Hopefulmummie please complain and get a rescan. They HAVE to scan you internally before 12 weeks, it's standard. You've had a shit service.

whatsthecraic91 · 06/06/2020 22:09

@Hopefulmummie I agree with @LondonAfterMidnight complain!! Tbh if it was me I wouldn't have left until they done it!!

Hopefulmummie · 06/06/2020 23:15

@Carabu1 I know the more I've read the less I'm worrying as it seems it's near impossible to see anything on an external scan this early but just confused why did they even do one

@LondonAfterMidnight
@whatsthecraic91 I think I might send them a message tomorrow and ask why they wouldn't internally scan. I'm annoyed at myself not asking at the time but suppose cause this is the 1st time going through anything like this I'm clueless

Hopefulmummie · 06/06/2020 23:16

@Rupert1996 the 2 I have booked are letting partners in

ZRS86 · 07/06/2020 07:18

@Rupert1996 I had a private scan at Window To The Womb yesterday and partners were allowed in. I contacted them beforehand to check.

Hopefulmummie · 07/06/2020 09:37

Morning everyone. How are you today?

I contacted the scan clinic I was in yesterday to ask what their normal procedure would he for early scans. She explained if they couldn't see anything abdominally they would scan internally. So I explained what happened me so just waiting to hear back

Hopefulmummie · 07/06/2020 10:03

They said this..
'the Sonographer looks at what can be seen abdominally and makes the decision whether an internal scan would show much more. In the very early stages like this the Sonographer would only put you through an internal scan if she thought it would show baby. I can see from your report that there were no signs of pregnancy in the scan which is why she has decided to bring you back in 2 weeks. She has also advised a repeat pregnancy test in the meantime. I hope this helps, if you need anything further please let me know.

whatsthecraic91 · 07/06/2020 10:23

@Hopefulmummie I wouldn't be satisfied with that answer - "put you through an internal scan" they are saying that like it's some traumatic procedure!! It would have taken them 5 minutes to do and you would have had more answers. I would ask for my money back and don't go back to them. Go somewhere else x
