Which travel system are you getting?

Starting to think about travel systems and not being able to get out and about to the shops is making things a little tricky!

Which one have you gone for/are you getting and why?

Cosatto giggle is currently under £400 for the whole travel system so think we might go with that. Has anyone tried it??

Tiddlertoddler · 14/05/2020 17:30

I have an egg stroller and love it! Definitely ticks your boxes, light frame and can be folded one handed, I'm petite so tried picking up lots of different frames in the shops and found the egg to be the lightest. Can be used with maxi cosi car seat too which we liked as that seemed to be a highly recommended seat. Can also be turned into a double if need be.

Shmithecat2 · 14/05/2020 17:43

@babynamesarehard if the car seat included in that is the Cosatto Hold, I'd steer clear - ADAC scored it a very lowly 4.7.

raindrop84 · 14/05/2020 18:07

@Tiddlertoddler That all sounds really positive! Can't wait to be able to get out to some shops to try some out...whenever that might be!!

Babyzen yo-yo as it folds up nicely and fits in my small car. I'm also five foot nothing so easy for me to carry in one hand and baby in the other. Also great for public transport

SherryPort18 · 14/05/2020 18:24

Nuna Mixx here after a recommendation on a previous thread. It is arriving next week, can't wait! It is the 2019 version though as the travel system was on sale. The new 2020 version is basically the same but folds up smaller.

SpiltMilk100 · 14/05/2020 18:37

For those talking about icandy, I have a Strawberry 2 from when I had DS 4 years ago, and will be using again for DC2 due in 2 weeks. It's so easy to fold down, handy with the different seats and that it's compatible with the maxi Cosi car seat.

Alychloe · 14/05/2020 18:38

Oh yes I too am interested it what people are thinking. I’d like to get the whole bundle instead of worrying about comparability between car seats etc. I was looking into the Nuna Mixx and the Mamas & Papas Ocarro. Anyone used either of these? :)

Alychloe · 14/05/2020 18:39

Sorry *compatibility

SpiltMilk100 · 14/05/2020 18:41

But you do need a large car boot to fit it in as it doesn't fold down that small.

heroineinahalfshell · 14/05/2020 18:45

I really wanted a Bugaboo Bee but decided I couldn't justify the cost (especially as MIL is very kindly footing the bill), so we've gone for a Mamas and Papas Flip XT with Maxi Cosi Pebble Pro car seat, ordered from online4baby for a lot cheaper and much quicker delivery than M&P!

I really like the Flip, it's only a tiny bit heavier than the Bee but feels a lot sturdier.

Puppydogg1 · 14/05/2020 18:49

@Alychloe I was looking at the Ocarro, I loved it and my sister has one. It was just far too heavy for me, my sister struggles with getting it in and out of her car due to the weight of it. In the end I went for the mamas and papas flip xt3 which looks very similar, same frame, smaller back wheels but a lot easier to get in and out the car up stairs etc cos it's lighter

Alychloe · 14/05/2020 18:52

@Puppydogg1 oh I’m glad you have said that! I’m only 5’2 with little to zero upper body strength haha. I’ll look at the flip xt3! Thanks for that :)

adag · 14/05/2020 18:54

I love the bugaboo bee... have also had a quinny and Icandy with my first ... bugaboo is much lighter, smaller and easier to control. We're London based and has been easy for parks, cafes and public transport (before we got locked down) and folds down neatly for the car. We went second hand this time (as I spent £800 on the quinny and traded it for a £180 umbrella folding mclaren at 5 months last time 😂)....was easy to take apart and clean down so was well worth it.

Tiddlertoddler · 14/05/2020 19:00

@raindrop84 I definitely would recommend it. Lovely range of colours too. It also has height adjusters which can clip in to raise the pram a bit higher, great if your partner is quite a bit taller than you. Think they were about £30 or so to add on to our package.

Puppydogg1 · 14/05/2020 19:04

@Alychloe same! I'm only 5 foot 3, no upper body strength at all. I ordered mine before everything slowed down and got to push and compare them all and for me personally the xt3 was the best one. Happy to help Smile

Amichelle84 · 14/05/2020 19:08

I've ordered the Nuna travel mixx in grey and cream with tan leather trim, its £775 I ordered it online but saw one in a different colour before lockdown and love it

Laura1348 · 14/05/2020 22:31

I've ordered the nuna mixx next travel system. Had to buy direct from website and in separate parts not a bundle. Did lots of online research as no shopping allowed, including Mumsnet reviews. Be aware some of the nuna bundles come with a car seat Pipa XL lite, I think) that can only be used with base, and not just a seatbelt. This could be difficult if you have an older car, or if you want to take in taxi etc.
Not tried it out yet as bundle isn't here.
We live in a village; the pram is apparently good for country walks as well as taking into towns.

raindrop84 · 15/05/2020 05:50

Just interested, have many people used the car seat from the travel system bundle or do people buy a separate one? I've heard ones from the bundles you buy are only suitable for the first 6 months sometimes?

I was lucky in that I managed to order before lockdown and my husband collected the day before! But theres only one shop near where j kive that sells prams and I even found that amount of choice overwhelming. We opted for the venicci gusto. I'd never heard of them before but it's all set up ready for his imminient arrival! I can't comment on the use as I've only pushed it around the house so far but I'm happy with it, for £770 for a 3 piece system I think it's really reasonable

Campurp · 15/05/2020 06:22

We have a Bugaboo Fox with a Maxi Cosi car seat and love it.
I wouldn’t go for an egg unless you’re willing to buy a stroller sooner. They are quite small so don’t last very long.
My Has an I candy peach. It’s also good but I am yet to try a Pram that handles like the bugaboo fox tbh. It’s a dream!

Campurp · 15/05/2020 06:23

*My SIL has an icandy Peach

Beau2020 · 15/05/2020 06:26

OP I've ordered the full egg travel system. Cost about £1300, I ordered just before the lockdown but it's not due to arrive until July xx

raindrop84 · 15/05/2020 06:44

@Lemonysherbet I've never heard of that make either! What made you pick that one? I'll have to have a look!
