Also good luck today everyone with scans! :-)

ChampooPapi · 18/05/2020 09:18

Thanks ladies 🤞🙏

@Amymone good for you, today is definitely going to be one where we think about it 99.9% of the time! Might as well do it on our own watch and be able to pass the time quicker with telly/mumsnet/ or just doing anything really. I'm currently watching Gavin and Stacy in bed, I can kill a good few hours there! And it's made me laugh so many times and I've seen it about the same amount of times before as that!.

Laughter is the best cure today ☺️

ChampooPapi · 18/05/2020 09:22

@OoOoBabyLove welcome 🙌. Have you had any scans yet so far through the pregnancy?

OP posts:
OoOoBabyLove · 18/05/2020 09:24

thankyou!
yes we had one about 13 days ago at out local window2thewomb so that my husband could experience it, all was okay at that one, but the baby was moving too much to get an accurate measurement.
do you know how much the recommend drinking before the scan? i had drunk 1litre of water within an hour before my private one and they recommended drinking a bit more water for this nhs one xx

Amymone · 18/05/2020 09:26

My thoughts exactly...think we're going to go for a walk and release some adrenaline. Perhaps a walk to the bakery for pastries! 😂 Now my (non-nerves-induced) nausea is passing, I'm eating like a pig and don't care!

Teaandbiscuits123 · 18/05/2020 09:29

Good morning all!

Good luck with all the scans today Smile

@EithneBlue you sound very organised! I’m glad you’re feeling more energised. I was having a good run until I got horrible headaches over the weekend! Managed to keep up with hubby on our walk too! I’ve started to do a bit more pre-natal yoga and have also been doing Joe Wicks but only the ‘senior’ ones lol.

@motherofsnortpigs I know the feeling about unfinished projects! I had a jumper on the go for ages that I wasn’t very taken by but I wouldn’t let myself start anything else until I was done. I’ve made a cute little baby cardie and have started on an all in one suit but it’s come up loads bigger than it should have (I used a different wool size!) so I’m not sure about that one!

EithneBlue · 18/05/2020 09:38

@OoOoBabyLove - I drank about a litre in the hour before the scan and it was WAY too much! I had to pee twice before my bladder was the right size to see clearly on the scan! BUT she said to me that it's better to be too full because you can empty it out a bit. I honestly wouldn't worry much :-)

OoOoBabyLove · 18/05/2020 09:41

thankyou! i think i might have drunk too much too i felt like i was going to pop!!
good luck everyone today X

peachypetite · 18/05/2020 09:44

Oh my goodness @EithneBlue how have you managed to contain yourself this long!! What exactly is the combined result? The blood test? Ooo I’ve been browsing this morning at clothes, my boobs are bigger (already pretty big pre pregnancy) and feel my hips are wider. Show us what ya bought

Moreybaby2020 · 18/05/2020 09:55

Hi everyone!
I had my first scan yesterday for 1st pregnancy (11 + 5) so excited to be able to join in this chat now without worrying too much :).

I'm not too sure how the nub/skull theory but if anyone has any guesses let me know !!!

EithneBlue · 18/05/2020 11:02

@peachypetite - barely, LOL! But we figured: what's an extra week? We had the first trimester combined screening on Friday (scan plus blood test for trisomy risks) so just waiting for that to come back (no reason to suspect an issue, just cautious I guess) ... I do quite enjoy the feeling of 'I know something you don't know' 😂

MummyShark97 · 18/05/2020 11:11

we did a proper pregnancy announcement at the weekend and it's been so lovely to share the news with everyone!

loving the buzz on the thread today so nice to see everyone so happy, I'm finally feeling like I have some energy today which is great!

Ah I see yep had that too but midwife said they only get in touch if something is up, fingers crossed I won’t hear from them!

ChampooPapi · 18/05/2020 11:24

@MummyShark97 oh my god I love this! Also I fancy both of you 💖 just saying 😉

ChampooPapi · 18/05/2020 11:25

@MummyShark97 I'm getting excited about when we all start really getting bumps and we can post so serious bellies on here! I'm going to compile a list when everyone's scanned end of the month of all our due dates, reckon there may be a few changes to those. My friend was over a week ahead at hers!

MummyShark97 · 18/05/2020 11:30

@champoopapi awh thank you very much haha !! Me too, can't wait for that! I'm starting to think about maternity clothes now, I ordered some leggings this morning but will be on the hunt for some summer dresses soon.

peachypetite · 18/05/2020 11:37

I’m on Debenhams, lots of maxi and midi dresses on sale. Going for things that are stretchy/floaty that can accommodate a growing bump.

Teaandbiscuits123 · 18/05/2020 11:40

@MummyShark97 what a gorgeous photo!!

@ChampooPapi I can’t wait for us all to get some proper bumps ❤️ I feel like mine has really shrunk over the last week. The bloat must have gone down but now I’m looking weirdly normal and want a bump back! Xx

firstbabybell · 18/05/2020 11:43

@mummyshark97 you look like a couple of models! Ridiculously cute photo!

Been walking round in jeans with the top button undone all weekend but... My maternity jeans are arriving today - hooray!!! Worried they will be too short as I'm quite tall & no where seems to do long length in maternity trousers. Any suggestions?

Avo3 · 18/05/2020 11:44

Hi ladies, my first scan is on Friday 22/05, at 11am :-D I can't wait - I think those first 12 weeks are far too long to not know what's going on inside your body. It's our first one, fingers crossed all goes well :-)

ChampooPapi · 18/05/2020 11:45

@Teaandbiscuits123 yes the exact same thing has happened to me! Except when I eat a large meal, then I look ready to go into labour!. It's scary because you lay on your back and have a flat stomach which freaks you out a fair bit considering your uterus is as big as a grapefruit. But it's very normal, most people really start to look actually pregnant about twenty weeks, some people look as pregnant then as at 9 weeks because before it was bloat but then it's baby ☺️

OP posts:
MummyShark97 · 18/05/2020 11:46

@firstbabybell @Teaandbiscuits123 Thanks very much both of you!! It took self timer and a lot of patience haha!

@peachypetite oh thanks for the idea I'll try Debenhams

Babyhope98 · 18/05/2020 11:49

Scan today saw my little baby wiggling, due November the 28th Smile Great news after three miscarriages and being diagnosed with PCOS so happy 🥰

Teaandbiscuits123 · 18/05/2020 11:50

@ChampooPapi that’s really reassuring - a disappearing bump coupled with feeling ‘normal’ has had me a bit stressed but glad to hear that it’s normal! ❤️
