When's everyone planning on buying big baby items?
I have fallen in love with a pushchair, the flip xt armadillo liberty special edition, it is a discontinued model. It is being sold on a local selling page for only £300 & includes everything, carry cot, regular seat, changing bag, etc & is in excellent condition. I'm so tempted, it feels way to early but I will be gutted if I can't find it later on in such good condition.

@kkr168 - If it's good value and you love it, why wait? Everyone will be buying differently :-)

MummyShark97 · 27/05/2020 11:31

@kkr168 I know everyone feels differently about this but I do think you should just do whatever feels right for you! If you like it, get it and if someone else feels it's too early for them at this stage then that's right for them Smile.

We've actually already ordered our pram too, it just won't be delivered for a month or so due to a delay in stock. It's a bundle with a car seat and bouncer and we didn't want to miss out either!

kkr168 · 27/05/2020 11:41

@MummyShark97 which pushchair did you go for?
There is so much choice but I just love the pattern on this pushchair.

skinnyhotchoc · 27/05/2020 12:09

If everything's ok after my scan/results, I'll be getting an uppababy in the autumn as that was the one that I was eventually happy with with my dd

I really want a Stokke pram but they are pretty expensive. I think we will wait till baby is here before we get it, I intend to use a baby sling initially.

RunnerGirl123 · 27/05/2020 12:18

Hi ladies. Third time attempting posting this - I don't think it's letting me post a pic?! My scan went okay this morning. Baby was measuring right for dates and there was a heartbeat. They have found a cyst in baby's tummy, so I've been referred to FMC. They've just called to say they'll see me after my 20 week scan, but the cyst may resolve itself by then anyway. They couldn't do the NT measurement so no combined screening for me, I'll just wait for the quad bloods now. It's been a rollercoaster of emotions this morning, but feeling more reassured that everything is OK now.

Amyyy1 · 27/05/2020 12:56

@kkr168 I've got my pushchair already - same situation as you, it was on a local selling site in excellent condition for a bargain! Seemed silly of me to wait any longer and miss out on it! Some people prefer to wait till later on in pregnancy but everyone's different 😊

ChampooPapi · 27/05/2020 13:03

@RunnerGirl123 I bet it has been! It must have been so intense after seeing your little one and being so filled with happiness and all that tension draining away to then be told about this cyst. But I have heard a fair few resolve by themselves as well, and you as well as them will get to see the baby again for the quad test in a few weeks? But your baby is thriving and you can now look forward to the second trimester, the next week or two until your combined quad test will absolutely fly by lovely 💜

@kkr168 buy it immediately. Honestly your in a position now where your chances remain the same pretty much from here on in so if something like that beaut comes up then purchase it. I'm currently bidding on ANOTHER snuz pod. I have one of everything already but of course I now need two of bloody everything. You've got to laugh. I had a baby 2 years ago so we've got it all from car seats to sleepyheads the list goes on. We thought we'd be laughing at not having to buy a thing. Fast forward to me bidding on a local snuz pod 🙄. I'll buy a new mattress for it from little green sheep, that dam thing alone will cost as much as the second hand snuzpod!.

I'll be getting a double mountain buggy from Gumtree or ebay. The duet, best for twins I personally think. I'll be getting the whole system as although I already have a mountain buggy swift and whole travel system it's for a single baby/child and the basinets are bigger then the ones on the duet so are not compatible. Least the car seats are and my friend has one that I can borrow to add to the one I've got.

@champooPapi omg I can only imagine the expense of having to have double! Have you looked on local selling sites too?

ChampooPapi · 27/05/2020 13:07

@MummyShark97 this is a really good pram, really gorgeous

ChampooPapi · 27/05/2020 13:08

Weeps at the thought of @Pinktruffle pushing the lushness that is a stokke pram around while Champoo hides in the bushes with her giant clumsy double beast

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 27/05/2020 13:13

@peachypetite where I am is a desert for anything local now pretty much unfortunately. When we were in Bristol with our last we got our mountain buggy for 35 pounds! Then sourced all the travel system bits separately for not much as well.

Other then a new car seat we got so much locally. But I think I'm going to have to go for an eBay or gumtree situation and do Hermes or a delivery service. To be honest it's only the buggy and the cot bed really. But I'll keep my eyes peeled anyway on the local sites in case, I will not enjoy buying the buggy element either way. I was so organized 😂 we thought we had it sorted. That's life though isn't it and the twins will be running around in a few years and the buggy and hundreds of snuzpods can be re sold 😆

Hi all! Congratulations to those of you who have had scans this week/today, I hope it has provided you with some much needed reassurance ❤️

I'm just looking for some reassurance really as I'm a FTM! I had my scan last Monday and my midwife phoned on Wednesday to say that all my screening results were fine but didn't say the numbers. I have just had my letter through and my downs risk is showing as 1:329 which I think sounds quite high? I know they don't class it as high unless it's more than 1:150 but I'm now just a bit concerned. The other risk for Edwards/Patau's was 1:20000 so much better. I'm just getting a bit confused by the figures as it's all new to me, so just wondering if these sound ok or if I should be looking at more tests?

NT - 1.10mm
HCG - 2.04 mom
PAPP-A - 0.41 mom

Thank you in advance - just when I thought I could stop worrying for a bit!! Xx

MummyShark97 · 27/05/2020 13:27

@ChampooPapi awh thank you! I'm sure you will find something lovely!

RunnerGirl123 · 27/05/2020 13:31

@Champoopapi thanks lovely. Yes, just planning to relax now and enjoy the next few weeks of being pregnant and starting the second trimester. Not sure how I go about booking the quad test though, I might just call the midwife later this week and see what she says. I don't think I get another scan with it though, just a blood test. But may suggest to my oh about having a private scan before my 20 week scan, so we can keep an eye on things.

Must be crazy but also fun planning for 2, you won't need 2 of everything but sounds like you've got a plan for what you do need! Good luck with the bidding!!

MummyShark97 · 27/05/2020 13:32

@RunnerGirl123 really glad to hear you're feeling reassured and good to hear you are being informed and looked after x

skinnyhotchoc · 27/05/2020 13:34

@Beccarans89 could you afford to have a harmony test to put your mind more at rest? How old are you? You're older it can skew the results a bit

RunnerGirl123 · 27/05/2020 13:35

@beccarans89 and @mummyshark97 thank you both. Just so happy there's a heartbeat and everything else looks OK for now.

kkr168 · 27/05/2020 13:39

I've arranged to view the pram saturday morning, gives me time to clean the car 1st, it's had tiles, adhesive, grout, etc in it so could do with a good hoover.
@ChampooPapi I had to have a double buggy with my son, my stepson was 2 but had global development delay so relied heavily on a pushchair still. Being almost 17 years ago there really wasn't as much choice as there is now & I ended up with a plain black ugly double buggy. I always said if I had another baby I would get the most beautiful buggy I could find.

RunnerGirl123 · 27/05/2020 13:41

@beccarans89 I wouldn't worry too much with that result - but I can see why you may think it's a high chance. You do have the option of the harmony test / NIPT, that may give you a more accurate result.

Beccarans89 · 27/05/2020 13:59

@skinnyhotchoc @RunnerGirl123 yes I said about harmony/NIPT test to my husband but he doesn't think we should as I don't think it would change anything in terms of having the baby. I know I would have been told if it was a concern but it's hard not to worry isn't it! Thank you ladies xx

RunnerGirl123 · 27/05/2020 14:06

@ Beccarans89 if it isn't going to change anything if baby is found to have high chance of DS then I wouldn't have the NIPT/Harmony either - that would have been my stance on things if I'd been able to have the NT and got a high chance result. The probability is really low with your result so I imagine all will be OK
