@nearlyamummyof3 the hospitals are very strict at the moment and not even allowing partners in, when I went there were signs all over the wall saying no children allowed in the room and no children under the age of 14 unsupervised in the waiting room. I would ring the hospital and see what they say, theres normally a number at the top of the scan letter

Eskdale2004 · 26/05/2020 09:37

@nearlyamummyof3 with my last baby (who will be 1 on Friday) they had just stopped allowing anyone under 18 in to the scanning room. From what I can gather, they aren’t even letting partners into the scanning room at the moment with the ongoing pandemic. It’s a huge shame but I can completely understand why they’re doing it and my OH would have to stay home to look after our 3 anyway.

peachypetite · 26/05/2020 09:45

@Eskdale did you sort your scan?

NaomiB79 · 26/05/2020 09:48

Hi All, thanks for sharing all your scan and labour stories, as this is my first I’m learning so much from all of your stories.

I had hardly any sickness during the first 12 weeks but in the last 3 weeks I’ve been sick several times a day! I’ll be 16 weeks on Friday. Has this happened to anyone else? Everything I’ve read has said sickness should ease after 12 weeks not get worse!

Also I noticed many of you have been able to book private scans so your partners can see the baby. I live in Edinburgh and to my knowledge all the private scan places here are closed due to COVID but was wondering if anyone local knew of any that are open as I’d love my partner to be able to see our baby.

Eskdale2004 · 26/05/2020 09:51

@peachypetite no 😔 I tried again over the weekend and yesterday but got absolutely nowhere. I’m awaiting an appointment letter this afternoon that says I had an appointment booked for this morning. I’m getting seriously fed up now.

Eskdale2004 · 26/05/2020 13:04

Scrap that, just had a letter for Thursday 10:20. My stomach is in knots!

nearlyamummyof3 · 26/05/2020 13:21

@Eskdale2004 @EBM20 this what I thought and I totally understand why they do it. But there must surely be people who can't have their children.

It's so tricky as well as I'm having one every two weeks and partners work are being dicks about it and him getting time off to watch our son! I will call scan letter and see what the options are.

I'm glad you finally got a date @Eskdale2004 must of been so frustrating! Good luck for Thursday will be thinking of you ❤️

nearlyamummyof3 · 26/05/2020 13:22

I'm not sure why that is in bold sorry 😂😂

nearlyamummyof3 · 26/05/2020 13:23

Hey @NaomiB79 I'll be 16 weeks on June 3rd and I feel like crap I'm so tired and nauseous after every meal! It does go in waves though!
The heat isn't helping at all!

nearlyamummyof3 · 26/05/2020 13:31

That was meant to say can't have their children looked after - sorry pregnancy brain in full swing today!
Sorry guys!

ChampooPapi · 26/05/2020 15:39

@Eskdale2004 oh brilliant! Only two days and two sleeps and you'll see the baby. Its going to be a tense 48 hours but it'll fly by.

@NaomiB79 oh lovely it's such a drag feeling so crappy, I have gone down a fair bit to the last day. Today I've felt really sick and my head is back to the first trimester migraine territory. It really is just another surge in hormones and is totally normal. It'll come and go a lot more, but I'd say for a lot of women untill twenty weeks they do get days where they are like 'i thought this shit was over and done with!' while retching in the bathroom or laying on the sofa with a cold pack on their heads (this is me right now).

On the private scan thing I'm in the south west and even the private places don't allow anyone to come. The places are ultrasound direct or window to the womb and they both are only allowing yourself to attend. May be different with other private clinics or in different areas though so worth phoning up ☺️

@ChampooPapi I’m so nervous. I always get anxiety before scans and I’ve absolutely no reason to think anything’s amiss (I even think I may have felt movement although I’m only 13+3 so think I’m neurotic and imagining it!) but it doesn’t feel real. It was such a shock in the first place.

We’re out in the sticks so we have to travel almost an hour to the hospital and I’ll be doing it on my own. I’m just thinking if it’s bad news and I have to drive back on my own I’m going to be a mess but I know I shouldn’t think like that. My friend has offered to come and sit in the car but with current covid restrictions, I really don’t think that’s a good idea. OH will have to stay home and look after the DC’s.

ManDubsMum · 26/05/2020 16:39

Hi everyone, wow its hard keeping up with the thread. Glad for everyone who has shared scans and all. Wishing everyone yet to do their scan all the very best.
My harmony results from 14th May came in this morning frm my hospital via email( imagine the results going to my spam box ) . Results says very low risk. It tallied with the combined test the hospital did same day. I am made to understand that the harmony test was carried out in a diagnostics centre in San Jose USA.
Am just battling with headache and tiredness to even take a walk. I know God is a great God and everything He does is perfect.
All the best to everyone.

peachypetite · 26/05/2020 17:11

Ladies what do you eat when you don’t know what you want/don’t fancy anything? I’m not sure if it’s the heat but I’m feeling quite food averse again :(

RunnerGirl123 · 26/05/2020 17:49

@peachypetite I try to do something small, so a bowl of pasta (can control the amount of sauce and any other ingredients) or something simple like a fish finger sandwich. I find if I'm not really feeling like eating, I can't manage a full meal anyway.

I've just signed off work, and now I'm in the final hours before my scan tomorrow morning. I keep going from excited to "what if there no heartbeat or even a baby??" But then try to think positively because I've not had any signs that it won't be good news and this is the furthest I've got in any pregnancy. I slept terribly last night, so hopefully will be a better sleep tonight as I'm definitely feeling more tired today!!

EithneBlue · 26/05/2020 17:52

@@Peachypetite Chicken Nuggets and homemade cheesy chips? Won't help with digestion but it tastes good!

ChampooPapi · 26/05/2020 18:26

@EithneBlue mmmm cheesy chips are never not good! And I could never not eat them 🙏

OP posts:
nearlyamummyof3 · 26/05/2020 18:28

You can never beat cheesy chips!
I've been buying frozen type food it's easy to throw in the oven and it's still fine if you don't fancy it and eat it cold later on!

Good luck tomorrow @RunnerGirl123

ChampooPapi · 26/05/2020 18:50

@RunnerGirl123 yes all the baby dust your way for tomorrow. We will be awaiting your update 💜

peachypetite · 26/05/2020 19:03

I feel like I can’t stomach anything again! I’ve made a smoothie :(

firstbabybell · 26/05/2020 19:20

@peachypetite cereal or cheese & crackers or ice lolly x

nroseh · 26/05/2020 19:23

Hi All I posted last week in relation to my blood results and my high risk of 1 in 93 chance of Down’s Syndrome....
Just wanted to post my results again just in case it helps anyone else
NT 2.6mm
Papp-a 1.8 mom
HcG 5.4 mom
(HcG levels were 5 times higher than ‘normal’ which is a high indicator for Down’s Syndrome).
I opted for Iona tests which were private via the hospital (around £400)
I got the results today and I’m now low risk ❤️ No extra chromosome found!
I hope this gives people hope for any worrying results you may have....
We also found out the sec which is just perfect.
Hope you mummy’s to be are all doing well x

Babyhope98 · 26/05/2020 19:33
