So who's having their scans tomorrow? Or this week?✨👣 Looking forward to guessing some more babies genders completely wrong no doubt🔮

I can't actually believe that we are here in our second, or nearly second for some, trimesters.

This is a serious achievement for us all!

Ginormous wines or boxes of chocolates for all post birth in celebration of this moment today ladies 🥰

We are coming into the last week of May, I mean what the actual..... We were here nearly 2 months ago diying and we will now rise from the ashes like the beautiful Phoenix's we all are, only to occasionally retch when we smell, hear or see something that doesn't please us

@skinnyhotchoc I mean those courses are all well and good and everything but what was she thinking really? She sounds like she was flexing her midwife power muscles and taking some kind of pleasure in putting the fear into you. It is definitely something that some health professionals enjoy, as well as other women which I find even more awful to be honest. The fear never helps anything!

You need positivity as well as support and advice based on the realistic outcome which really is not you having a baby on the floor first time or even second. Yes it's possible, but it's actually possible in any labour and they don't go around telling every woman to start mopping their floors in preparation.

You however are prepared this time in that knowledge of your past experience, and you did have like an hour or so at home last time didn't you? then you just know this time to head straight there. And cross the bridge when you come to it. Your house will be immaculate if your anything like me the last month before your due date, such a nesting time and the obsession with cleaning is high in that last trimester (even if it dissapears immediately post baby, espe when it comes to the kitchen!)

Non of us know how it's going to go, but we will be there for each other and keep positive, because our babies are going to do what they do 💖

@ChampooPapi it is a huge achievement to get to the second trimester, one I never thought I'd achieve. I just can't wait for November to come and hope it hurries up!

The only thing that is still causing me sickness is toothpaste! I switched to kiddies toothpaste as it's milder but still makes me gag! Not as bad as it was though, I do manage to brush my teeth properly at least once a day now haha

Mummatobe2020 · 24/05/2020 20:19

@champoopapi my scan is this week!! Id love to post it and for anyone to guess the gender.

We aren't finding out :-) xx

ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 20:24

@Pinktruffle oh me too I have actually been sick a tiny bit a few times this last week when brushing my teeth, so gross!

skinnyhotchoc · 24/05/2020 20:30

@ChampooPapi I don't think she succeeded in scaring me. I think when you have a baby like that with no pain relief and basically no help anyway you realise your body is pretty powerful but ye I will have very clean floors and towels lol

ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 20:31

@Mummatobe2020 so exciting! Yes post away, though I warn you whatever I predict it will be the opposite so you will be finding out in a way 😉

Update us of course after you've had your scan 🙌

@skinnyhotchoc true that 💪♀️

@Pinktruffle lets agree to just treating ourselves to 3 monthly hygienist appointments after this pregnancy is through and some expensive tooth paste. I'm pretty sure 6 months of being a little tardy can be regained with these things, and we deserve it lovely 💜

@ChampooPapi aw I was just curious as it was quite here yesterday.

I'm doing so much better the last few days thank you for asking. I've worked out milk is what's making me ill. So I've avoided it for the last 3 days and had no sickness.

Which is so strange because my last two pregnanciea I couldn't get enough of it.

Ive got 3 scans this week.
Our private one on Wednesday so hubby can see baby.
The redo of NHS on Thursday
And harmony on Friday.
It's wierd to think in 10 to 14 days I'll know what little peanut is xxx

Hope your keeping well. Fingers crossed you don't need to bend to much xxx

Pe4nutsmum · 24/05/2020 20:43

I message and asked the nub whisper to guess, and they gave me a full refund as they couldn't guess.

I think I would highly recommend them on that basis alone xx

Bobbieblu · 24/05/2020 20:48

My scan is Friday afternoon. The week is going to go slowly I think...

Pinktruffle · 24/05/2020 20:50

@ChampooPapi definitely! I would be going to the dentist regularly right now if they weren't all closed!

It's the worst when you are sick when brushing your teeth, there is nothing you can do to make you feel better!

ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 20:50

@Pe4nutsmum this is epic for you! And for our thread! Three scans in a week, girl you are going to have so much fun ✨👣. The harmony should all come back next week as well, it is incredible finding out so early. I will never forget opening that email and it just saying GIRL. Like that. Fact. I couldn't process it for a minute or two.

Yes keep us updated on Wednesday and don't forget to definitely have the screening Thursday even though you are having the Harmony as you need the PAP a and hcg test as well and they are lumped into the tri screenings.

Lol I have two children so usually would do mucho bending, but my partner is still off work so he is my human 'hand grabber'. He is also my holder of things.

God 🙏 these few days go very quick for you and your husband for Wednesday 💜🥰

Good luck to those of you with scans this week!

ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 20:53

@Bobbieblu lovely I also hope this week fly's for you and your man, especially as you've got two to check up on. How many weeks will you be Friday? I do think this week may be the longest week of your life though unfortunately 😆😬 if your anything like me I make it so much longer by constantly thinking about it all!

OP posts:
Pe4nutsmum · 24/05/2020 20:55

@ChampooPapi thank you, I'm so excited to find out.

Oh that's good to know because the lady scanning me last week with the NHS suggested not getting their test carried out if I wa going to get the Harmony.

I'm so glad someone is well informed. Thank you. I will post all scans and results as soon as they happen.
Aw I'm glad your husband with you to tel out. How old are you 2 little girls. Xxx

skinnyhotchoc · 24/05/2020 21:08

@Pe4nutsmum mine tried to tell me the same thing. I'm just not letting on I've had the harmony test.
Getting a bit nervous for the results of my harmony next week and I have the nhs scan on Friday at 13+3

Bobbieblu · 24/05/2020 21:14

@ChampooPapi thank you!! Really hope they are both doing the right thing. I’ll be 12+6 at the scan. Going to try to keep away from the internet so that I don’t google ridiculous things to make me worry.

Good luck for all the the other scans this week!

RunnerGirl123 · 24/05/2020 21:25

My scan is on Wednesday too, and I'll be 12+6 according to LMP. These last few days are starting to drag though, and I'm just really hoping all is OK, trying not to let my anxieties get the better of me, and I've stayed off google recently.
We'll be finding out the sex at 20 weeks, so will welcome any guesses!!

ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 21:36

@Pe4nutsmum they are 10 and 2, we got pregnant had our first at 22 so we needed the next 8 years to basically get ourselves into adulting mode. Well and truly there now though, we're about to turn our light off and actually feel like we stayed up a bit tonight. So rock and roll 😄

Both are girls so with me included we will be a 5 woman household. I envision some kind of symbol above our front door....a warning to all men that enter to watch themselves 😏

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 21:38

@RunnerGirl123 the next 48 hours are probably going to be fairly painful I reckon so do as much as you can to fill the days, or get out if you can for a long walk or two. I can't wait to see you update Wednesday 💜👣 and I will be guessing of course!

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 24/05/2020 21:40

Guessing the gender is like the most harmless fun and joyful silly thing we can do at this stage isn't it? So much around pregnancy is a worry and difficult and serious! I love the scan guessing , it's a real tonic to all the build up and anxiety

I'm so jealous of your quick labours, I had to be induced with my son at 42 weeks. Had a pessary at 9am, contractions started not long after & they were so intense, I had him at 2am the following morning.

Eskdale2004 · 24/05/2020 22:39

My labours have been quickish.
My first one was spontaneous. Went into labour at 8:45pm and she was born at 1:45am.
Second I was induced. Had my waters broken at 4am. Started getting mild contractions at 7am. They put my on the oxytocin drip at 8:00. By 9:30 the contractions were very intense. She told me I was 6cm at 10:30am and she was born at 10:57! They wrote that I was in active labour for an hour but I reckon it was a bit longer than that. I’m aware I was VERY fortunate for such a quick and straight forward induction. Still awaiting a scan date 😩😖
