Hello everyone. Do you mind if I join in?

I have a DD if 22nd Nov, it's my third.... scan yesterday and all was well.

MummyShark97 · 22/05/2020 10:57

Hello everyone how are you all doing today?

Just had my 20 week scan date through - 15 July so I'll be 20+3, how exciting to think it's really not so long till the 'halfway' stage x

nearlyamummyof3 · 22/05/2020 11:17

Welcome @IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley

That is exciting @MummyShark97 I have all my dates up to 22 weeks cause after 16 weeks I have one every 2 weeks because it's twins! So it's super exciting knowing all those dates! This is why I want my move to go through soon as want to transfer to new historical as I want to get to know all the midwifes etc seeing as I'll be there every 2 weeks! ☺️💕

Good luck to everyone having scans today!🎈🎈🎈

ChampooPapi · 22/05/2020 11:22

@MummyShark97 oh stop! Your making me all excited 😉 twenty weeks will be such a landmark for us all, shall we celebrate with bumps photos post scan? On a good note i feel like i am feeling a lot better so there is hope ladies! Obviously still retched a few times and im weak as a kitten but i am doing lite housework and not laying down every 5 seconds 😄

@nearlyamummyof3 its only one every two weeks because yours are in the same sack i think. Ive 8 weeks until my next scan then they are every 4 weeks

@ChampooPapi @skinnyhotchoc thanks both for the information and for the link. I am now 13+1 so thinking it will be too late to book anything before 14 weeks, regardless.

I am seeing my midwife today, so I may run it past her - I know they can only advise, but she has more experience that I, with this kind of thing so may offer support.

All of this is completely hypothetical, mind. But since luck wasn’t on my side in my last pregnancy I’m finding myself erring on the side of caution this time round.

ChampooPapi · 22/05/2020 11:39

@PipTed i think i got that wrong about it being before 14 weeks, i was thinking of something else! You can have the nipt any time so definitely read the thread and dont expect your midwife to know much about it, mine didn't

@IAmSeriousAndDontCallMeShirley welcome 👣🙌

ChampooPapi · 22/05/2020 11:42

@PipTed yes sorry that was total bobbins what i said, you can have it any time after 10 weeks

PipTed · 22/05/2020 11:50

@ChampooPapi ahh, ok.

Lol, yes, I’m thinking mine is the same, since I’m asking all of these questions now. 🙈

Thank you so much for the link, read through and few a lot more informed.

nearlyamummyof3 · 22/05/2020 11:52

Oh really? @ChampooPapi yeah they said it's because one baby might start taking more nutrition then the other so they do it at 16,18,20,22 etc to make sure they're getting equal amounts.

It's quite scary because they said it's quite common and if it happens they have to do in vitro surgery.

ChampooPapi · 22/05/2020 11:57

@nearlyamummyof3 yes although having lots of scans is such a good thing for monitoring and being able to give your little ones a wave every few weeks, it is a lot harder for youi think having those anxieties building up before every scan. You are facing everything so well and ticking off those days now. But you will certainly be pleased when those little ones are safe and dry and snuggling in your arms

I totally agree I will be a ball of nerves every 2 weeks rather then every month. Hopefully boyfriend will be able to go to some eventually!
It's also hard with childcare as it's hard for him to get a day off every 2 weeks! @ChampooPapi

Babyhope98 · 22/05/2020 12:33

Is anyone else experiencing cloudy urine? Don’t know if it’s a UTI they did a test on Monday with the scan, so I’m assuming they would have contacted me by now if anything showed up Confused

Teaandbiscuits123 · 22/05/2020 13:13

@Babyhope97 you might just be dehydrated. Even if you’re drinking loads! I feel like I don’t stop drinking but sometimes I’m surprised by it looking quite dark. Keep an eye on it though.

I just took the plunge and ordered a new bra and a few clothes (leggings and some bigger tops)! 14 + 4 now and although I don’t have a bump I’m definitely a bit chunkier lol.

I hope everyone is feeling well. It’s been lovely to see the scan pictures xx

Eskdale2004 · 22/05/2020 13:16

I’m feeling a bit deflated today if I’m honest. FINALLY had my booking in app on Tuesday. Picked up my notes Wednesday. Unfortunately missed a call from the hospital yesterday as I was changing my little girl’s nappy. Tried ringing back and just got passed round in circles so didn’t get anywhere. They said not to worry as they would’ve sent me a letter out with an appointment. No letter today, no post until Tuesday now so I’m feeling pretty pissed off. I’m 13 weeks tomorrow, high risk with a history of loss. What if they’ve arranged an appointment for me on Tuesday morning and I don’t get the letter until dinner time? Will I have to wait another eternity for a scan? I just want to get it over with. I hate hospitals, hate appointments of any sort and the anxiety about the actual scan is really getting to get to me.

skinnyhotchoc · 22/05/2020 13:32

Bit of fun. Found this lady on Facebook who does gender readings. She's predicting girl! We shall see next week!

My urine is a bit cloudy but I thought that it was mixing a bit with the progesterone leakage (sorry there's no nicer way to say it I don't think!). I definitely do not drink enough, but making more of an effort now the thought of water does not make me feel sick!!

How exciting to get a detailed prediction!! Will be interesting to see if she's right!!

nearlyamummyof3 · 22/05/2020 13:47

Hey @Eskdale2004 that sounds so annoying. They should of left a voicemail or something! I would google the number for the fetal medicine unit in your hospital and if you have your notes and MRN number they should easily be able to tell you when your scan is!

If not try the direct midwife number if you have it.

RunnerGirl123 · 22/05/2020 13:48

@Eskdale2004 could you call the scan department at your hospital to confirm date and time in case the letter takes a while to arrive? That's what my midwife told me to do when I said I hadn't received my letter. Our post has been super slow, so don't think you're being unreasonable especially at 13 weeks

peachypetite · 22/05/2020 13:51

@Eskdale2004 my letter never turned up but the midwife was able to tell me over the phone and email.

Eskdale2004 · 22/05/2020 14:08

Thank you all. I’ve tried the antenatal ultra sound department, my midwife but she said she hadn’t had confirmation of a scan date for me yet and to ring the antenatal department which I did but got passed around in circles from one department to the other.
@nearlyamummyof3 I know, when I saw my phone ringing I thought oh it’s ok, they’ll leave me a message but you know what thought did Hmm
I wouldn’t be as bothered but with it being a bank holiday weekend I’m starting to get concerned that I’m going to get my letter too late. Will see if they have a fetal medicine number and ring that.

peachypetite · 22/05/2020 14:10

@eskdale if all else fails I’d probably head down there in person.
