Dramula as name?

My daughter is expecting her first child. Knows it's a girl. She loves the name Dramula. I'm conflicted as I think its made up. Should I say something?

It's a cross between Dracula and primula

Mucklowe · 09/05/2020 10:11

I thought this was a thread about a type of medication!

madcatladyforever · 09/05/2020 10:13

Dramula! Hmm

ladykuga · 09/05/2020 10:16

Dramula, Dracula, Primula (cheese). Think about how that child will fare at school. Don't just don't.

CooperLooper · 09/05/2020 10:21

It sounds like something medical, like a brand name or something.

Cherrytangfastic · 09/05/2020 10:26

I thought of Dracula and Primula (cheese).

I wouldn't know what to do/say though, sorry

Mucklowe · 09/05/2020 10:32

A lot of people wait years for their baby, but don't saddle it with a name that sounds like a horror film!

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/05/2020 10:33

It sounds like a brand of weed killer.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 09/05/2020 10:34

How about Ursula? Same sort of sound and nn Ully is possible. Everyone will think of the sea witch in Ariel but it’s marginally better than Dramula.

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/05/2020 10:35

What is the significance of it being a long awaited pregnancy?? Utterly irrelevant as an excuse for not giving the baby a half decent name 🤨

pictish · 09/05/2020 10:37

Every time I see/hear Dramula on this thread, I snort. It looks silly, it sounds silly, it is silly. Fun for me but maybe not so much for poor wee Dramula.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 09/05/2020 10:38

It sounds like some sort of medication .
Or a misspelling of Dracula

TimeWastingButFun · 09/05/2020 10:39

Surely not, imagine what the kids will do at school with a name that sounds like Dracula.

HollysBush · 09/05/2020 10:41

How does she pronounce it? Dra-moo-la or Dram-u-la. Not that it makes any difference. Yuk.

memememoi · 09/05/2020 10:41

Dracula with all the drama

🤣🤣 @OneKeyAtATime

midnightstar66 · 09/05/2020 10:42

Alcoholic vampire? What an ugly name for a little girl 😬

memememoi · 09/05/2020 10:44

Imagine telling people your name. Spell Dracula with an m instead of c 🤣. I hope it's just her hormones

🤣🤣 @Amicompletelyinsane

midnightstar66 · 09/05/2020 10:46

This makes the 'Drake' thread look sensible

And maybe on a par with Dracob. Actually Dracob and Dramula could be siblings!

TonyChestnut · 09/05/2020 10:53

This is exactly why I have asked my MP to introduce a private member's bill to outlaw the use of any unauthorised names.

I have carefully prepared an acceptable list of names; essentially any name that appears in the Bible or the names of Kings, Queens or consorts from any period of the history of the British Isles, or Janet, is acceptable to me.

Doublevodka · 09/05/2020 10:55

My predictive text keeps changing Dramula to Dracula.

Thisismytimetoshine · 09/05/2020 10:56

As will the kid's schoolmates.

pictish · 09/05/2020 11:00

Dracob and Dramula! Grin
Omg I am cackling!

viques · 09/05/2020 11:03

Reminds me of the old Harry Enfield Wayne and Waynetta sketches. I believe they called their firstborn Frogmella and the second Spudulika.

If push came to shove I would take Frogmella over Dramula.

(I know we aren't allowed to laugh at goths but I think a lot of people would snigger at little Dramula, so unless the family are hell bent on relocating to Whitby I think they need to rethink)

BinkySodPlop · 09/05/2020 11:06

Is this a cousin for Balonz?

Smellbellina · 09/05/2020 11:10

It isn’t the best name I’ve ever heard.

But... I’m really close to my mum and value her opinion hugely, except when it came to naming my DC.
