@Hhdxx i am so sorry to read your post. I know words probably mean very little right now, but you and your family are in my thoughts and i hope you're doing as well as you can. Sending you all love xx

MummyBearBoo · 16/08/2020 20:25

Oh Hannah hun I am so sorry my heart us broken for you I really hope you have good support around you I think one of the girls on another thread I'm on had a placental abruption and has not had any issues so far this time around and she's 32+ weeks so I don't think it always means you would not be able to have a child? Xxx

Hhdxx · 17/08/2020 09:51

Thank you for your kind messages. I feel absolutely numb. Why does this happen?

We tried for 1 year and a half for our baby and now she has been taken from us xxx

Talcott2007 · 18/08/2020 13:21

Oh Hannah. I don't have the words to begin to express how sorry I am the loss of your precious girl. Words are wholly inadequate but they are all I can offer you and I do so with the hope of you finding even the smallest confort from them.

Would you like to share her name with us so that we can also remember just a tiny piece of her?

Sending all my Love xxx

Bumblebee413 · 18/08/2020 23:08

Hannah I am so, so very sorry. There is no doubt that she was anything but utterly perfect. And she is so very, very loved. Never in her life was she anything over than wanted, precious and cherished. I am so sorry for your heartbreak and pain.

The placenta abrupting will not stop you from falling pregnant again when you are ready or carrying a baby all the way to term. It's a horrible, cruel thing that has no rhyme or reason. Certain medical conditions can make it more likely but unfortunately it's a very rare, awful thing that sometimes can just happen. Which I know won't make it any easier in some ways. Like Talcott2007 says, if you would like to share her name it will be honoured by all of us, but don't feel any pressure at all. Sending you so much love xxx

Hhdxx · 20/08/2020 14:22

Thank you for all your kind messages. Her name is Amelie and she is the most beautiful precious thing.

I wish I was completing this journey with you all soo bad. Sorry to have to put a downer on the group but I wanted you all to know.

Keep safe and look after yourselves.

xxxxx

Bumblebee413 · 20/08/2020 21:53

That is such a beautiful name for a perfect little girl. Don't waste any time worrying about 'putting a downer' on the group. We are in here to support each other, whatever form that takes. Hope you are being loved and looked after xxx

professorastrocat · 20/08/2020 22:18

Talcott2007 · 25/08/2020 15:30

Has anyone else started having braxton hicks yet? Been having them randomly for the last few days, not painful but weird sensation and have coincided with starting to feeling very tired again (definitely know they are B/H as I had them the 1st time around too - but they didn't start until much later like 36+ but fortunately I happened to have one during my midwife check up the other day and she was confirmed that it's definitely what it was)

Bumblebee413 · 26/08/2020 07:28

I started having them at 25 weeks. Bizarrely they apparently happen the whole way through and can be seen at the first scan. They just get stronger towards the end of the pregnancy, which is when people start to feel them. X

Hatepickinganame · 26/08/2020 09:05

Ive been having them for a while, im only 24 weeks now. Usually happens when I'm desperate to pee lol makes it sooo uncomfortable! How are we all? Xx

professorastrocat · 26/08/2020 09:22

I think I am! Not sure really I definitely feel an overall tightening but doesn't last long at all, or maybe I only sense it briefly.
Hope everyone is well? I have a growth scan on Friday so need lots of growy thoughts sent my way!

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 26/08/2020 11:10

I'm 33 weeks started to get them last week they don't last as long as contractions though but it coincided with baby lowering so I could feel pressure so I was panicking she was coming early but it's ok she is lower and head down but not low enough yet!
I'm knackered SPD, heartburn, needing to pee 4 times a night and a really active baby make sleeping difficult!! Xxx

Hatepickinganame · 26/08/2020 11:36

@mummybearboo ugh spd is kicking in for me too, starting to get shooting pains when i move the wrong way 😣 its been a weird week here, i found out ive been wrongly diagnosed in 3 pregnancies as a carrier of a blood disorder, turns out its a completely different, super rare disorder and now I'm under a high risk consultant as a precaution, have to go see a haemoglobin specialist, and i have an extra scan in 3 weeks. @professorastrocat good luck for friday!!

Talcott2007 · 27/08/2020 08:29

I feel so much bigger at 30w this time than I did with DD1 and all my symptoms have definitely kicked up a gear in the last week - on top of the daily braxton hicks, my SPD is making every trip upstairs a preplanned activity not to be undertaken without much consideration! My bladder has reduced capacity to a similar volume as a walnut so I need to pee every other hour at least! But the worst thing is the ahem swelling cough down there Blush its so uncomfortable! I know from last time its just down to the increased blood flood to the region and everything will shrink back but OMG - and please excuse the TMI but it looks and feels a prototype prop for an Aliens Film right now!

MummyBearBoo · 27/08/2020 09:03

I'm literally crippled with SPD once I actually get moving it eases slightly but getting up, going up stairs, starting walking and turning over in bed is a proper trauma!!

My next scan isn't til a week on Tuesday which does seem a while away!

@Hatepickinganame - glad they've worked out what you have now and are monitoring you accordingly!

@professorastrocat -good luck Friday!

Hospital begs pretty much packed

Feeling ready to pop but still only 33 weeks so I need baby to stay in there for at least another 5 weeks!!
Xxx

Aw @Talcott2007 that sounds uncomfortable! But I can relate a bit, I've certainly got a bit of swelling going on. 🤣

Also, general pelvic aches but it doesn't sound like as bad as some of you have it! Sleeping is awful though, never comfortable now! I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't get a return of the sciatica like last time....all good so far.

@MummyBearBoo term in 4 weeks, how did that happen!

@Hatepickinganame at least they have it right now! But sounds an eventful week for you, especially with extra appointments and things now.

Does anyone know if for later scans (32 week one for me) you need a full bladder?

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 27/08/2020 13:26

Just got some good news -my anaesthetist called so I can now sort my birth plan when I see my consultant a week on Tuesday but she also said that partners are now discouraged from leaving once you're admitted to the maternity ward and delivery suite as it was causing too much foot traffic so my DH will be able to stay with me for the whole thing (I have to go in from the first signs of labour)! Xx

MummyBearBoo · 27/08/2020 13:29

You don't need a full bladder for a later scans coz they can see baby easily by now so I didn't need full bladder for my 31 weeks scan but they did want a urine sample so I did need to drink some water! Xx

professorastrocat · 27/08/2020 17:42

Good news @MummyBearBoo !
And thanks! I thought so but wanted to be sure Smile

Hatepickinganame · 27/08/2020 19:21

@MummyBearBoo your bump is so neat and cute! I genuinely feel like im elephant sized! Will be very interesting to see if she's already measuring big at the 28 week scan. Im 25 weeks tomorrow and i can already see her moving around now, forgot how weird it is to see my stomach move 🤣 cant believe how close some of you are getting, it doesnt feel like its been long enough!

MummyBearBoo · 28/08/2020 08:52

I'm constantly getting body parts poking out she sleeps with her foot poking out between my stomach muscles where the gap is (no placenta at the front to block her!) and it actually hurts when she drags her feet along my ribs!

My bump doesn't feel cute it feels heavy and Midwife keeps saying I'm measuring two weeks ahead but baby is average at my scans - we'll see what they say next time got midwife again a week today and scan a week Tuesday!! Xx
