Ah those pregnancy hormones - sometimes they're great 🤣🤣

My next scan is still 7 weeks away, but I can wait...it will mean it won't be long until baby may appear at that point! It's exciting...but I don't feel at all mentally prepared yet!

How's everyone doing? Just ploughing on with crazy 2020?

@professorastrocat mine is next week, ill be 19 weeks! Spd is already starting to kick in, my bump is freaking huge already. How are you?

professorastrocat · 09/07/2020 12:17

I'm good thanks though I'm starting to get pain from sitting on a dodgy chair at home to work, wish I'd gone and got my office chair now.

Got mat leave all finalised though for September, yeeeah!

@DPSawMyUsername -I had strange sexyish dream with my DH and Idris Elba in!!

@professorastrocat my next one is 5 weeks on Tuesday

@Hatepickinganame -is it anomaly scan next week then?

Does anyone have any idea where I can get a pack of plain white or pink sleepsuits from? Can't find any anywhere and Boots don't re-open mothercare til October!! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 09/07/2020 12:34

@MummyBearBoo yeah, consultant/midwife tomorrowand anomaly next week 😊 have you tried tesco and asda?

MummyBearBoo · 09/07/2020 15:38

Yes most of the ones I like in Asda are out of stock Tesco don't have that much either!! Tried Sainsbury's, Morrisons, H&M, Next and Boots too!!

Lola871 · 09/07/2020 16:13

All was good on my anomaly scan so that's good news! Had my whooping cough vac today, and seem to have the side effects, I feel really off. She said it can give you flu like symptoms for 48 hours so I'm assuming that's the problem!

professorastrocat · 09/07/2020 17:26

Yeah I was a bit off for 24 hours after mine @Lola871 was your scan today?

OP posts:
Lola871 · 09/07/2020 17:34

@professorastrocat it was yesterday.

I've had a 3 hour nap this afternoon! Feels like I'm back in the first trimester, luckily I'm off work this week so don't have that to deal with.

professorastrocat · 09/07/2020 18:15

Glad it went well! Are you having a surprise?

OP posts:
Lola871 · 09/07/2020 18:50

Yes, not finding out the sex. We've had a lot of comments about it from family - they either love that we're not finding out or can't get their head around it 😂

professorastrocat · 09/07/2020 20:20

Everyone loves to have an opinion!! 😂

Glad your scan went well @Lola871 and hope you feel better soon!

Not sure I can lay on my left when I do baby kicks or jams her foot in my left side near my pelvis and it's pretty uncomfortable she's still kicking almost all day til the early hours!! Xx

Just in the waiting room for my appointment, is anyone else really struggling with wearing masks? Feel so hot and like i cant breathe! Overheard midwives say they are phasing out combined scan and midwife appointments to get back to normal... that seems like good news 🤗

professorastrocat · 10/07/2020 10:47

All the best for the appointment @Hatepickinganame yes the masks aren't comfortable and I find them difficult I can't imagine what it's like working with them on all day with the visors too. I'm getting a handmade one soon which hopefully will be more breathable

@professorastrocat a hand made one sounds like a good plan! Well it ended up being worth the hour wait as got a very quick scan and saw the little heart beat. Theyve told me as its my 4th baby im higher risk for blood loss after birth and therefore need an iv in Labour, i got a little upset about not using the birth centre or pool and then they've said discuss it with midwife it might be ok? And apparently my blood disorder has disappeared, and the fact that my last was 10lb 6oz is not currently a problem 🤣

MummyBearBoo · 10/07/2020 19:18

I get you @Hatepickinganame -this is my 4th pregnancy but only have 1 DD so coz of previous complications I'm high risk and am likely to suffer from heavy blood loss after labour (needed blood transfusions after both my TFMRs) They are going to get some blood matched in readiness, I have to see an anaesthetist for a plan in case they can't slow or stop the bleeding (coz I can't have a GA) and I can't use the pool either!!

Had my pre-assessment for my eye op today op is a week on Monday as long as my Covid test is clear should be /I have no symptoms or anything! They said I'll need to lay fiat on my back for half an hour to 40 mins but after seeing how big My jump was she says she'll see if they can sit me up a bit I hope they can otherwise the back ache and reflux will be horrendous!! I have to sleep sat up almost baby attacks left side of my pelvis til 2am if I start off on my left!! Xx

Hatepickinganame · 11/07/2020 16:39

@MummyBearBoo i just wasnt expecting it at all. Fingers crossed for.your op, hope all goes well. On the bright side, my hospital are now allowing partners to scans! So anyone with a scan coming up, its worth checking with your hospital cause i wouldnt have known if i hasnt checked the website!!

professorastrocat · 11/07/2020 17:55

That's good @Hatepickinganame , the guidance has changed i believe but it's up to individual trusts what they're doing, same for people at the birth too. People are starting to get a bit miffed with it where I live.

OP posts:
Hatepickinganame · 11/07/2020 18:44

@professorastrocat yeah i wasnt sure if it applied to my hospital and theyve kept it quite quiet lol ive taken a screenshot of the post on their website just in case they say no on friday lol we're both so excited now, id be heartbroken if they turn him away.

professorastrocat · 11/07/2020 20:28

Anyone any recommendations for straight leg maternity jeans?
I'm not having much luck getting any that fit or are comfy. I don't want skinny leg or bootcut and have leggings so don't need more of them. But for colder days I'm just after some straight jeans. None from last pregnancy fit this time, plus I mostly wore work trousers then anyway.

OP posts:
MummyBearBoo · 11/07/2020 22:42

I know mine didn't allow partners in on Tuesday he could wait in hospital and come in if they needed to talk to us if any bad news but he couldn't come in for scan! Hopefully by 11th August he will be able to cone with me!
Can't help on jeans sorry coz i got mine from Mothercare -Boots aren't re-opening that til October!! Xx
