All the photos look lovely everyone and I wouldn’t worry about having it done before they are born, it’s a lovely space xx

@MrsRose2018

It's a lovely thread 🌸

Your DH has done a lovely job with your ideas! It's lovely to read about a happy couple doing something nice!

It's great to have the nursery ready (if you can spare the room), even if it's only used for changing them & getting them dressed for a while. It's a good base for a room that can easily be changed up when he wants fireman Sam/paw patrol or football!🤣 but that's a long way off!

Tell him AuntyAmelie says he's to stay put inside you for a while yet!

Take care...and feel free to post photos of other bits you've bought 😊🌷

Such a lovely room OP! Grin Our nursery is possibly about half finished - walls are painted and just need touching up where the masking tape ripped a load of paint off (grr) - we've gone for 3 white walls and one grey and I'm in the process of varnishing the exposed beam and door frame. Got to wait for hubby's next break from his shifts to get it all finished as I am banned from the ladder and therefore can't do the paint touch ups! And he won't let me order the furniture until the painting is finished as we have nowhere to store it other than in the nursery and don't want to get paint on it. We've also chucked out the old carpet as it was really manky and stained, although I am now slightly regretting that as I don't think we will get anyone in to put a new one in before August - just as well baby will be sleeping in our bedroom for the first few months, we might just have got a carpet in there by the time she's ready to move in! I've been spending hours researching what furniture to buy though, definitely my new lockdown hobby Smile

MrsRose2018 · 02/05/2020 18:14

@memh that wall paper is incredible!!!

We were thinking of going for yellow as well but we went for a last minute swap when I found/liked the faux wood wall paper!

I love bright colours

Thank you everyone for posting your nursery/ideas! They're all wonderful! I love how each mamma has their own different ideas and concepts for their rooms! 💕

I was worrying I had come across In a funny way or was doing something wrong/unnecessary with the earlier posts but glad I'm not the only one!

I did read somewhere that it's a good idea to put your baby into their nursery/cots for a wee nap from about 5 month onwards to get them used to the transition! Has anyone done that?we want to try and avoid co-sleeping/him sleeping in our room as soon as he moves into this nursery if we can! My mum told me she didn't do this and wasn't firm enough when she did and I was an absolute NIGHTMARE to get to sleep every night till I was about 10!

DT’s slept until Moses baskets for the first couple of months and the basket was in the cot. They went into the cot itself when they were about three months (both in one cot to start with as they were small) and into their own rooms from six months.

NameChange30 · 02/05/2020 18:30

It's all such a haze that I can't really remember. DS was a terrible napper but turned out to have silent reflux caused by CMPA - we didn't realise until he was about 9 months old. I can't remember when we started putting him in the cot Blush Probably when he outgrew the bedside crib and/or we wanted to start doing some gentle sleep training. Tbh I think it's mostly luck what kind of sleeper you have and there are options for sleep training. Once we had the CMPA and silent reflux sorted, we did sleep train and DS slept much better after that. (It can be a controversial topic and people do have very strong feelings about it, so I will leave it there!)

nauseaandnipples · 02/05/2020 18:31

@MrsRose2018 I put ds into the cot in his nursery for naps from about 4 months, I would sit on nursing chair and enjoy a hot cup of tea and read through Mumsnet.

Servers · 02/05/2020 18:34

It's lovely OP, it looks really lovely and even though baby will be in with you for 6 months, it looks like a lovely space to relax with baby and feed during the day if you wanted to. I still havent finished decorating ours and DS is nearly 2, oops!

Servers · 02/05/2020 18:36

Also yes, great for day time naps if you are happy to sit in there, I always longed for a change of scenery and that would have been perfect.

surprisinglyordinary · 02/05/2020 18:55

It's beautiful.

MrsRose2018 · 02/05/2020 18:57

Naps and maybe some night feeds or if he's cluster feeding or just not sleeping in general!

DH has said he would like to do some night feeds and whilst I am under no illusion that being a mum at home with a newborn baby isn't work DH deals with big customers/large sums of money for his work. He also drives all across the north so if he doesn't get SOME sleep I fear it may be dangerous for him if he has to get back to it by the time the baby comes and he finishes paternity leave!

I sit in there as well just looking at everything and taking it all in 💕

This is my bubbas nursery, will be a bit bigger once we've had the work done on the stairs as having them turn again to give her a bit of extra space and then we can put up her llama wallpaper!

I love your room it's beautiful x

Lovely! Are you sure you have enough toys in that cot Grin Wink

RubyDreamsOfRainbows · 02/05/2020 19:05

What a lovely space. Enjoy it and your bubba to come ❤️ xx

lettersbyowl · 02/05/2020 19:11

That's beautiful!! Well done you both! We can't do ours as under the lockdown we can't seem to be able get the things we need to redecorate and the furniture is all out of stock. Will hopefully do one in a few months time! I've been a bit down about it but seeing these photos makes me just excited to do our when it happens Smile

CouscousEvaporator · 02/05/2020 19:17

Just wanted to say these are beautiful and great inspiration x

Nfblues · 02/05/2020 19:21

Gorgeous pictures everyone!! We were in the middle of a house purchase before lockdown and I had our little ones nursery all planned. Sadly we don’t have the space currently in our rented house to do anything as there’s no spare and we will just have to wait until the housing market is no longer suspended.

My plans include scalloped mint walls and a bunny theme. I’m so excited to do it and idc if baby girl doesn’t need it anytime soon, it’s a nice place for her stuff and for her to play in even if she doesn’t sleep in it until next year.

iusedtohavechickens · 02/05/2020 19:25

@NameChange30 she is 13 mths now and they keep her amused in the mornings for half an hour! 😁 she then likes to show me what they all do when I go into her. I live her so much 🥰

NameChange30 · 02/05/2020 19:26

😍

MsSquiz · 02/05/2020 19:27

We had DD's nursery finished 3 months before she was due, but I'm ridiculous about being organised and a planner! We have the same furniture as you, OP, but the white and we went with grey wood effect vinyl flooring, pale pink walls with a feature wall of white with grey bunnies.

I'll take a pic tomorrow, as DD has just gone down for her evening snooze in her cot, before she gets her dream feed later and comes into the next2me in our room

nicky7654 · 02/05/2020 19:28

Absolutely love your Nursery!! You have done a grand job 😁 Lovely room for your baby xx

maddiemookins16mum · 02/05/2020 19:33

Oh that is lovely, just lovely.

cptartapp · 02/05/2020 19:37

Lovely nursery. You might want to consider some blackout blinds. My DC always slept well and I'm sure they really helped. They were used over many many years!

bluehague · 02/05/2020 19:46

This was ours when it was first done, we painted the tree ourselves and I still love it
