I'm exactly the same @Rnic1x ! Over thinking everything! I'm hoping after the early scan next week it'll put my mind at ease a bit and I can chill out until the midwife appointment! It feels forever away!

Marshmallow1102 · 01/05/2020 09:07

Morning all!
I've taken the day off work today to rest, and the doctors have prescribed me some anti sickness meds, so will have to see if they work!! 🤞

Loving all the ways you are all trying to hide the truth from your friends and family on video chats! I'm also pretending to drink on group chats with friends, but I'm not too worried about people guessing, we've been married for 4 years so people got bored of asking us about babies a while back, and we didn't tell a soul that we were trying!! Fingers crossed that no one suspects and says anything, only a few more weeks to go until we'll be able to tell them!

Marshmallow1102 · 01/05/2020 09:20

@dixiedo So sorry to hear about your UTI, but the Tupperware/sandwich bag situation has given me a good giggle, thank you! 😂 Can the you not send OH to collect a pot from the doctors now?

Katbaby · 01/05/2020 09:34

I'm still waiting on sickness /loss of appetite to start 😕 I'm just super gurgly and burping constantly ☹️

Katbaby · 01/05/2020 09:35

Hope you feel better soon @Marshmallow1102

PocoyoandEllie · 01/05/2020 09:41

I have told my DH not to include me in any meal plans for a while as I honestly don’t think I will be able to stomach anything 🤢

Rnic1x · 01/05/2020 09:41

@Marshmallow1102 we didn't tell anybody either, nobody would even guess as we were planning a few more trips away this year even if I was pregnant... They'll all be in for a big surprise 😂 x

@dixiedo that's just made me lol I could just imagine trying to wee in a sandwich bag 😂😂😂

dixiedo · 01/05/2020 09:55

Good idea @Marshmallow1102 I've just asked him to go now.

I had all sorts going through my head.
Sandwich bag and scissors to cut off the corner. All sorts. Thinking how do I do this roadside 😂

I bought some scratch cards off amazon I was thinking of giving to our close friends. I'm not sure what I think about them though. In our group friendship circle there have been two couples just had a baby and two due September and October. So the dynamic I'm sure will move from pubs to parks 🙃

Is anyone else ridiculously starving but can't actually eat ? X

notalwaysalondoner · 01/05/2020 10:20

@dixiedo you can normally give a sample there, all doctors have a bathroom for this purpose.

@Marshmallow1102 and @Rnic1x we didn’t tell anyone either. Staying at my parents and normally I drink 3-4 nights a week so having to be very sneaky and swapping drinks with my husband, pouring back into the bottle late at night etc. Think I’m going to tell my mum this weekend so she doesn’t guess!

Rnic1x · 01/05/2020 10:27

@notalwaysalondoner how are you going to tell her? Is this first grandchild?

So the sickness is still there but I've just opened the fridge to get a drink and noticed a full pack of sliced chicken for dp sandwich today... I or should I say baby made me do it accidentally ate the whole pack? I never eat sliced chicken so why I wanted it so bad I don't know... It was so good 😂😂😂

Tink679 · 01/05/2020 10:32

Morning ladies! So glad I found you all again! I thought the group had gone quiet! I’ve spent the morning catching up nodding along or chuckling and it may sound silly but I feel ‘normal’ again

I’ve spent the past couple of days being a needy pain in the backside! 😂 which is unlike me! This is the longest me and my OH have ever spent together in the 5 years we have been together (he works away a lot) he’s now working from home and I’m pretty sure I’m driving him insane 😂 I’m pretty sure he thinks I’m usually this lazy too (I’m really not) but the headache and the tiredness have wiped me out, I’ve been really emotional too (again not really like me).

I love your stories about telling loved ones and I’m trying to think of nice ways to do the announcement but I keep having these waves of dread. People would always ask if we would be having kids and we always said no as we have children from past relationships. I don’t think I could take their negative comments or the sarcasm especially from the squadie lot (they are ruthless)

I’m definitely in the sore boobs clan and have literally been cradling them while trying to get to sleep only to wake up with pins and needles too! Not really effective!

🤣 weeing in a sandwich bag!!

I can’t wait to see everyone’s early scan pics! Ours is in two weeks but seems so far away, still not had midwife appointment either so hopefully when they come through it will feel more real and I won’t worry quite so much

I’m also desperate to tell the twins! They have been asking for a brother or sister since they were 4, you’d think they would be happy they have each other, not sure how they will take it now they are nearly 11!

Marshmallow1102 · 01/05/2020 10:33

@Rnic1x Hahaha that's brilliant!! 😂

@Katbaby Thank you! So far the tablets seem to be working, I had cereal and potato cakes for breakfast, most I've managed to eat in weeks!!

Rnic1x · 01/05/2020 10:42

@Tink679 welcome back lovely. I'm finding the dp thing hard too, he works local so I see him everyday but because he's a fitter he can't work from home so they sent him he me 6 weeks ago on full pay... He is milking it! He works backshift sometimes too which is great I get to watch my TV at night but now I have him there 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

My boobs are still so sore, I slept with a sports bra on last night and it helped I think it kept them more together 😂

Natt99 · 01/05/2020 10:46

Morning everyone glad you're all doing ok-ish! The last few days I've been really nauseous from morning until late afternoon, all that helps us eating plain crisps so I've gotten through bags 😂
I called window to womb and it turns out that partners are allowed in with you (website says not) so really pleased hubby can come with me tomorrow.
I know the pain of fake drinking on video calls. I had some seedlip last night which was delicious, just like gin! We do a quiz with our friends every Thurs and the losers have to do a shot from their drinks cabinet chosen by the others 😫 Needless to say we worked really hard to win the quiz so we didn't have to drink 😂

Tink679 · 01/05/2020 11:03

@Rnic1x it was great at first but I think the novelty has worn off! Some days he’s great and love having him home and sometimes I think we spoke more when he was away!

Even my sports bra feels tight these days, I ordered a front fastening one from amazon but it’s not that comfy either! I think I need to go shopping!

@Natt99 we have a quiz night tonight, our first one with my OHs friends! Should be interesting! 🤦🏻‍♀️

PocoyoandEllie · 01/05/2020 11:08

Just moved my private scan from the 20th to the 12th, then realised its DH birthday 😩 really hoping not to get bad news!

december2020 · 01/05/2020 11:14

I was just thinking if the lockdown eases, would we all still be in the vulnerable group being pregnant and need to stay at home (or work from home)? Or would it be very situation normal and expected to go to work?

Keepingcomfy · 01/05/2020 11:15

Hi everyone! I had a bit of a meltdown last night and convinced myself that I wasn't pregnant, or that it was 'going away'. I picked up a Boots pregnancy test this morning (was getting a prescription anyway) to put my mind at ease.
The test line came up really dark but the control line was quite faint. Is that still a positive?

SettyBuarez · 01/05/2020 11:19

Morning all - to everyone that's been able to book a private scan, can I ask which company you've used and a rough regional area? The most local one to me is closed completely and the advice on window to the womb is that only one person is allowed, so same guidance as hospitals.

djmbaker · 01/05/2020 11:49

@SettyBuarez window to the womb are allowing your partners to go in but they dont tell you online it's only when you arrive there or if you ask beforehand.

SettyBuarez · 01/05/2020 11:52

@djmbaker Aah ok thank you.

ElectricTonight · 01/05/2020 11:53

@Keepingcomfy Yes it's means you are defo pregnant with high hcg levels :) are you around five weeks?x

Keepingcomfy · 01/05/2020 12:06

@electrictonight I'm 7+3 weeks. I found out two weeks ago 😊 Just needed the reassurance!

notalwaysalondoner · 01/05/2020 12:15

@Rnic1x yes it will be her first. Not sure how to tell her - need to get her out the house as my dad will just tell everyone so I don’t want to tell him just yet! How did you all tell your mums (if you already have!)?

Natt99 · 01/05/2020 12:18

@SettyBuarez I'm using window to womb in berkshire. They do say no one is allowed with you on the website but I called earlier and they said it's absolutely fine to bring 1 adult. Bit odd isn't it, glad I called x
