Pregnancy announcement weird or ?

I’ve been told my pregnancy announcement was weird by a family member 🤨
For my mother in law and my mom we put a pregnancy test taped inside a card and said to nanny so and so.
A family member found out and on FaceTime this morning laughed and said it was odd. Was it? Or should I just laugh it off?

Being a parent is all about getting so used to gross stuff that you forget that it is gross to everyone else!

It's a bit unusual but not the end of the world. If your mum & mil we're happy to receive it then that's all that matters really.

I didn't send my pregnancy test to anyone but it is still in the box in the bathroom cupboard (I'm now 7mths pregnant), I feel a bit too sentimental to throw it away.

Thirdly: OP asked for advice. There are nice ways in which to deliver. The majority of the comments are not just agreements with her family members. They are nasty.

FYI everyone disgusted at this OP announcement. No one. Not one living human is completely 'not gross'. We all do stuff every single day that many others woul people find 'werid'. Terefore we have no right to pass judgement and be nasty.

Would I do what OP did? No. Because I know my mom/MiL wouldn't react faverouably. However I can't condone using hurtful language to demonstrate this point.

I honestly don’t understand why someone would share something so private to anyone - it’s literally a piece of card you have pissed on. But then again, I find taking photos of tests to share on the internet really, really odd as well.

@ChandlerIsTheBestFriend Passing judgement isn't the same as offering opinions to a question. Politeness plays a part. You understood what F* meant no? Ergo effective communication. However you're entitled to your opinion of finding it strange. Perhaps it is.

@SquirtleSquad if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all is a saying for a reason.

It's harmless but it's a bit weird maybe. I would have gone with a photo or a little pair of booties of something.

Was it one of the first response type that's made of plastic and has a cap? Or was it the internet cheapie kind that's just the stick. If it was an ic I'm afraid that is definitely weird in my opinion.

Your excited about ur pregnancy! You sent it to your mum n mother in law I don't see anything wrong eith it , that's what the caps for to cover the wee anyway, and you covered it in cello tape, enjoy this feeling don't let anyone telling u it's weird bring u down! I showed my mother in law my test and she snatched it off me in excitement , can't be that gross if she wanted to hold it haha xx
