Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@Lakes10 thanks for sharing that, good to know!

ilovetrees30 · 30/04/2020 11:45

@awizardshouldknowbetter I totally get the limbo feeling. We told both sets of parents the first time we had a bfp but I don't think I will this time as it was heartbreaking having to tell them we lost it.

@gb000 you can keep testing but I believe there comes a point when the tests dont work properly as your hcg levels get too high.

awizardshouldknowbetter · 30/04/2020 11:51

@ilovetrees30 so sorry to hear you had to go through that. 💙 It's so hard to know whether to be excited or reserved about it all.

Milkshake54 · 30/04/2020 11:54

Can I ask about bowel movements...

I’m having frequent bowel movements! Been twice already today!! Everywhere I read says about constipation - so I’m panicking!!! Anyone else in a similar situation?!

awizardshouldknowbetter · 30/04/2020 11:56

@Milkshake54 My bowels have been all over the place! Weird noises and frequent trips to the loo! You're not alone!

katieains · 30/04/2020 11:57

Hi all, I had my BFP result yesterday and according to my app I'm around 5 weeks pregnant. First time so quite nerve-wracking but planned and very happy. The only symptoms I am having are sore boobs and I've been to the loo more than normal,no constipation here.lol. great to share this journey with you all. 😊

Lizziedu49 · 30/04/2020 11:59

Congrats @katieains
It's so nice to have other ladies to go through this with ☺️

awizardshouldknowbetter · 30/04/2020 11:59

@katieains congrats! So comforting to see so many other first timers going through the same thing in these weird times!

Thack19 · 30/04/2020 12:01

I’m feeling really nervous today, bowels also all over the shop 🙄 and obviously we are super excited but I’ve started worrying about my job with Corona Virus. I’m currently furloughed hoping to return possibly mid June but if my employer were to find out I’m pregnant could they just make me redundant instead? Also I’m terrified of needles and I’m feeling nervous for that first appointment not knowing what to expect, will they defo do blood tests ? Also it looks like our local private clinic are allowing partners at the mo which is a relief !

Milkshake54 · 30/04/2020 12:08

@awizardshouldknowbetter @thack19 @katieains I am so pleased to hear your bowels have been troublesome too!

@thack19 I know there is a lot of anxiety about work atm, sorry I can’t offer and support or guidance around that as it’s all unknown.
They won’t be able to make you redundant based on being pregnant as that is discrimination - however, if you can avoid it and it won’t put you or baby at any risk - can you wait until you need to tell work (e.g nearer the cut off for maternity) to avoid that anxiety?
Unfortunately they will take blood.... Close your eyes and say sharp scratch....?

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 12:10

@Cat028 I called the hospital and spoke to the loveliest lady ever so I am now 100% calm 😂😂

@Milkshake54 I have had the runs this morning after being constipated right up until then! I immediately was panicking thinking my period was going to come but I feel fine now!

I told my mum and sister last night there was a lot of tears!! It's so early but I'm so glad they know 😇

ilovetrees30 · 30/04/2020 12:13

I think dodgy bowel movements are linked to the progesterone if I remember rightly. It can either make you constipated or the opposite. Ive just been burping and farting liking a trooper!!

@Thack19 its a tricky area with work as you dont want to tell them too early but telling them offers you a lot of protection under the discrimination act.

Thack19 · 30/04/2020 12:15

@Milkshake54 definitely agree I don’t plan on telling them until necessary (wouldnt leave it too late though) I’m actually hoping this pregnancy will get me over my needle phobia, I’ve hated them since I was little 😂 calling the GP today to get it organised !

Cat028 · 30/04/2020 12:16

@awizardshouldknowbetter that's reassuring to hear what the midwife told you. Thank makes me feel a but better to be honest. I was worrying how I'd check I was pregnant before the scan.

@Milkshake54 I have been weeing a lot and was having bowel movements normally but this has stopped in the last 2 days. I think it's normal for it to change.

@katieains congrats!

@Thack19 try not to worry too much you have time before June to figure out if you want to let work know.
Terrified on needles here too. I had to have them when we started having fertility investigations. Its really strange tk say but after avoiding them like crazy for 29 years you get used to it. Do not look!

@whatsthecraic91 I'm really glad to hear you are calmer. What did she say?

Lakes10 · 30/04/2020 12:21

@thack19 being pregnant definitely got me over my needle phobia! I was absolutely terrified before but when pregnant you just get on with it as baby is priority...and then by the time you've given birth you'll never fear anything ever again Grin

Popcat120 · 30/04/2020 12:23

My scab is booked for 7+5, thinking of putting is forward to band on 7 weeks, not so long to wait then.
Guess it doesn't make a whole lottA difference, 5 extra days. To wait.
Just so impatient.

Think I'm gonna tell my mum in a few weeks.
Ordered her a cute little flower bomb card (she plants the seeds - to watch them grow, just like the baby you'll come To know) 😍

She Defo won't be expecting me to be having another so soon!

@Popcat120 that's a really cute way of telling your mum! How old is your other one?

Popcat120 · 30/04/2020 12:39

@lakes10 I've got a 19 month old boy.
Had an easy time with him tho, he's such a little angel.
Don't they say you're first is an angel to trick you into reproducing again! 😂

Lakes10 · 30/04/2020 12:45

@popcat120 I've got a 19 month old girl and she is absolutely bonkers 🤦🏻‍♀️ (not that I would change a thing) - though our thinking is more along the lines of this one must be more chilled 😂 I highly doubt it but we can kid ourselves!

Loz1022 · 30/04/2020 12:45

Hi everyone I got my positive test on Tuesday at what I think was 11dpo, I think I’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow 😁
I can’t work out my due date based on my last period as I have long irregular cycles and havnt had a period since end February! But based on ovulation I’d be due around the 8th January! Hope these next few weeks fly by and that everything goes as planned for us all! Is anyone else worrying about everything?! 🙈xx.

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 12:52

@Cat028 I told her everything the other lady said yesterday and she was pretty much like I would love to know who you were speaking to as she's told you a load of rubbish 🤣🤣 so I do nothing now but take my vitamins and chill out until I get my date through, I book in and get the scan all on the same day so it will be when I'm 11/12 weeks. Defo gonna book a private scan!

When are people getting their private scans? I want to make sure we can see the heartbeat etc

gb000 · 30/04/2020 13:03

@awizardshouldknowbetter sorry I missed your message below! That is so interesting. So like, if there's lots of pain/bleeding to worry but not if not? I feel like I am analysing every single sign. It just feels so unlikely there is a baby growing in me - so given I don't have lots of symptoms I keep wanting to poas to reassure me!

In terms of private scans my gynae recommended the birth company in London, think I am going to book in on what will be 6+5.

Cat028 · 30/04/2020 13:07

@Popcat120 that's such a lovely way to announce to your Mum. 🥰

@Loz1022 yes me! I am worrying about every little thing. Feeling very anxious. It seems so long until booking/scan appointment.

@whatsthecraic91 haha! She sounds straight to the point. I'm not sure if I will be able to book a scan a few clinics are saying only for medical purposes, bleeds, pain, medical history etc.

Loz1022 · 30/04/2020 13:10

@Cat028 it does! I’m going to book in for a scan around 8 weeks but still that’s like a month away 🙈 is this your first baby? How many weeks are you? I’ve got a sore stomach and have been feeling sick already, then other days I’m so so hungry! 🙈 xx
