Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@Skybooks the place I booked (a private scanning clinic, so not a hospital) said it depended on the covid regs, but at the moment yes.

Elmlee · 30/04/2020 09:21

Just spoken to midwife at local hospital, after not able to see my GP. She's given me a number for a local midwife attached to my GP. Will be sending me stuff out re appointments.
She roughly predicted my due date is around December 25th 😳😳

Skybooks · 30/04/2020 09:36

@Elmlee my DS DD was 19th DEC his birthday is the 14th so with a EDD this time of the 3rd jan I'm expecting a christmas baby.
Having a baby in near Christmas honestly felt magical.

@carabu1 1 place near me is currently allow partners but obviously that can all change. I think I'll call in a few weeks I want mine about 11 weeks due to a previous loss.

SpacePug · 30/04/2020 09:40

Congratulations everyone. How's everyone feeling? My symptoms are coming and going and it makes me half worried. I'm trying to be positive and calm but my boobs were so sore a couple of nights ago and have not hurt since. I have had a couple of headaches though not sure if that will be linked . Also, i work in a supermarket and not sure when i should tell work 🤔

Katie1109 · 30/04/2020 09:57

No symptoms at all here apart from sore boobs and nipples x trying not to worry about it and go about my life as usual x I’ve got my first midwife appointment in 3 weeks. What happens on that appointment, anyone knows? I take it there is no scan? x

Popcat120 · 30/04/2020 10:01

Morning and welcome to all of you!
Congratulations!

I'm not feeling so bad symptom wise, which is worrying me a little
I felt absolutely horrendous with DS.

Af due today, and Im quite wet creamy discharge, (tmi) so paranoid everytime I go toilet, af will have appeared!

Got a text about my booking appointment on the phone 29th may and a private scan 26th may. Still feels ages away though!

Hope everyone is ok!

@katie1109 it's just a booking appointment. BP, bloods, medications, previous history/births etc.
They should give you a 12 week scan date at that appointment.

I wonder if I will be monitored closer toward the end as ended up consultant led with reduced movements, scan at 39 weeks showed he hadn't grown since 37 weeks, thankfully I trusted my instinct and went in with reduced movements.

Im going to ring the gp tomorrow and see about getting booked in and ask about my thyroid.

I know I will end up with more scans due to my overactive thyroid I wish I didn't have to be consultant led but I know I probably will be.

Morning everyone. Feeling okay here. Like others my symptoms have not been consistent but this being my first I have no idea what to expect. I feel weird in my tummy sometimes this is putting me off food and sometimes I want to eat so taking each day as it comes. My boobs have felt larger and I'm much more aware of them too. Nice to see some appointment dates coming through.

@Elmlee that's very exciting! 😊 Christmas baby!

Cat028 · 30/04/2020 10:27

@ilovetrees30 try not to worry I'm sure they will do what they think is safe for you and the baby.

Lizziedu49 · 30/04/2020 10:29

Got my BFP this morning! Came off the pill in My last year and stopped trying in January this year as I had had enough. Still can't believe it!!!!!!!!!!

January 2021 Babies!
Lizziedu49 · 30/04/2020 10:31

I meant May last year!

Milkshake54 · 30/04/2020 10:39

@Lizziedu49 congratulations! That is a lovely line! Do you know when you are due?

Lizziedu49 · 30/04/2020 10:41

@Milkshake54 NHS calculator says 5th Jan. If it happened to be 2 days earlier, that would be my late brother's birthday 😌 anything could happen I guess!
How about you? Sorry I haven't had a chance to scroll through. I was just so excited to tell someone! 😂

Milkshake54 · 30/04/2020 10:46

@Lizziedu49 aw that would be lovely! NHS says 4th Jan for me! So very close to you 😊.
I totally get the excitement and want to share - particularly as it’s on the low down for a long while!!

Carabu1 · 30/04/2020 11:03

I have absolutely no symptoms...! if it wasn't for the test I would have no idea. This is panicking me a bit, but I know that isn't going to make any difference...

awizardshouldknowbetter · 30/04/2020 11:11

Hi all, I hope it's not too late to join in! I got my very first BFP this week, which was pretty exciting! Apparently my due date is Jan 6th. I'm 34 and we have been trying since December.

Anyone else totally weirded out by the fact that you've just had amazing news but at the same time it's too early to do anything about it like tell people etc? We feel like we're in a weird expecting-but-dont-get-too-excited-about-it limbo.

Symptoms so far include fatigue, and mild cramps which of course I'm hyper aware of and wonder what every damn twinge means. So nervous but also tentatively optimistic!

gb000 · 30/04/2020 11:18

Hello! Can I join? Got my BFP on Sunday (13DPO). This is my first so totally bricking it and scared while trying to not be a total fun sponge with my DH who is mostly just excited. Apparently I'm 4+1 and due on 6 Jan.

I am def going for an early private scan - is 6-7 weeks ok or should I wait until 7-8?

My symptoms so far have been faintly weird boobs, nothing I would notice if not for my test though. They just sort of feel more...noticeable!? Like I'm more aware of them. Also I feel vaguely hungover and don't fancy food. Weird!!

whatsthecraic91 · 30/04/2020 11:21

I'm freaking out a wee bit, do I need to tell my GP? I've self referred to the hospital and she said something about me being too far out in the countryside for community midwives, I'm a bit confused. She also said it will be 8 weeks before I'm seen. They really caught me off guard yesterday when she phoned so I didn't ask any questions 😓

Lakes10 · 30/04/2020 11:24

Hi all, hope it's okay for me to jump on this thread too! I got my bfp a few days ago, due around Jan 4th. This is my second so sort of know what to expect - think that makes me more nervous Grin
Have a 19 month old bonkers girl already so this will just add to the chaos!
Will be nice to keep talking to others going through pregnancy throughout this crazy time right now! Fingers crossed everything improves and calms down a bit later this year.

Lakes10 · 30/04/2020 11:32

With my first I went for a scan at 7 weeks and they could see everything they needed to and could see baby was viable, if you go and it's a bit too early most places allow you to come back in a week or so for no charge Smile

Cat028 · 30/04/2020 11:33

@Lizziedu49 @gb000 @Lakes10 congratulations and welcome.

@awizardshouldknowbetter I feel exactly the same, total limbo. This is also my first and I'm dying to tell people. We have told some family and very close friends.

@whatsthecraic91 I don't think there's any harm in ringing your GPs surgery and explaining they have said you are too far out for community midwifes and ask what the process will be for you.

gb000 · 30/04/2020 11:39

Interesting, thanks @Lakes10 !

This might be a silly question but how do you check if you're...still pregnant up until your first scan? Just keep testing? It's going to drive me mad!

Lakes10 · 30/04/2020 11:44

@gb000 I know it's so nerve wracking and the urge to just keep continually testing is really strong, but if you have your positive then that's all you need Smile You are pregnant and you won't get any further info until you have scan. So as hard as it is just try to stay calm and take each day as it comes.

awizardshouldknowbetter · 30/04/2020 11:44

@Cat028 Glad I'm not the only one!

@gb000 looks like we're due at the same time! Also I was totally wondering this yesterday about how you know you're still pregnant in the meantime! I tried to sign up with the NHS Maternity Notes app this week but a lovely midwife called and said that whilst I was still too early at 4 weeks to be signed up to the app, she booked me in for an appointment for 3 weeks time. I asked her if I should keep testing in the meantime, and she said that basically everything is ok as long as there's no heavy bleeding or serious pain. She said some people do keep testing, I guess for peace of mind, but that it's not necessary. I've still got a couple to use up so will probably keep checking haha

Anyone got any tips about private scans? What to look for in a company? What's a reasonable price etc?
