Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@Baba11 ow thank you! I haven’t had a chance of reading the whole thread! When is your due date? Is it your first? Really sorry about your miscarriage it’s heart crushing. 3 of my miscarriages were early on 5-6 weeks and lines had a very poor progression and never got much darker than what I have now at 4 weeks! One of the miscarriages was at 13 weeks (she had Turners syndrome) and we had been given 10% chance of surviving til birth. We agonised over what to do but before we could make a decision she died on her own Flowers. I still think about her everyday and wonder what if, I really hope this January baby is our rainbow xxx

Hey Lovely ladies- I have been lurking on here for the past week without posting.
I found out I was pregnant last week, but knew I was pregnant as had been feeling sick from pretty much day one.
I then stopped feeling sick and thought I was crazy as I hadn’t done the test yet. Did the test last weekend and low and behold - pregnant.
This is semi planned Smile me and hubby only really started trying this month, so feeling very lucky but extremely anxious!
According to the NHS website I am due 15th Jan and am 4 weeks.
As mentioned I had felt extremely sick from the beginning but then the sickness completely disappeared, so I had thought maybe I was not preggers anymore. Did another test yesterday to make sure ( after reading this forum and seeing how many tests everyone takes) the lines were very very clear. So fingers crossed it sticks!
Symptom wise it’s just really my boobs right now and feeling hungry all the time. Has anyone else experienced the sickness at the beginning for say 10 days and then it stops?
Sorry for going on about the sickness, just over here being an anxious hungry person right now.

Baba11 · 12/05/2020 11:55

@Hopingfor2021 I have 2 children already so this will be my third. My miscarriage at 11 weeks, hit me hard and made me so anxious of going through it again. By god grace I'm here and just wishing the 12 weeks away. I am currently 5 +2 and time is dragging so much. Probably doesn't help we are in lockdown. Sorry about your miscarriages it is awful to have to go thru it.
How are you feeling now?

@Firsttimemumma1990 congrats. Iv read on here a lot of ladies have had symptoms disappear. I was lucky enough not to have sickness. The things we go through hey..
So excited to be making this journey with you all Smile

Hey ladies I have a question! I'm 4 weeks 4 days with my first and I sneezed this morning and it hurt! Like I pulled a muscle! I've noticed the last two days that my lower abdomen feeling like a did a workout and my muscles are sore is this normal?

Maisonsmummy · 12/05/2020 12:00

Hi Everyone, Completely new to mumsnet! I just got my BFP after 2 mmc so super nervous and it would be nice to have some ladies to chat too as im pretty sure im driving my husband crazy! My due date is the 18th of January X

MissHoney85 · 12/05/2020 12:11

@FirstTimeMumAt31 congrats! We have the same due date ☺️ can't help too much with the sickness, that's something I haven't really had yet. And I'm the opposite of hungry - no real interest in food despite normally being obsessed (could be anxiety suppressing my appetite though). I'd try not to worry too much about symptoms, they come and go. If you've had a line then you're in the club!

Ourkates · 12/05/2020 12:49

Can anybody direct me to the Facebook page? Thanks

Firsttimemumma1990 · 12/05/2020 13:11

@Baba11 Ok great thanks! Congrats to you too!

Baba11 · 12/05/2020 13:28

So I just had my booking in appointment with my midwife she gave me my first scan appointment, when I will be 8 weeks. Isn't that too early for a scan? I'm so nervous about it been too early and given my prev mc at 11 weeks I am not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing. Any help or advice!?!?

Hopingfor2021 · 12/05/2020 13:49

@Baba11 oh really?? Did she mention why at 8 weeks? Could it be because of your miscarriage? Make sure you get another one between 11-13 weeks as that’s when they check the thickness of neck (8 weeks it wouldn’t have developed and after 13 weeks it’s too late to see). Last year my hospital said I could have a scan at 6,8,10 weeks for reassurance but all that’s out the window now because of corona. I’m going privately in two weeks instead and then again at 10 weeks for the harmony test. Time is really dragging!!

Welcome to anyone new! Xx

@FirstTimeMumAt31 I think symptoms can massively change day from day. I felt exhausted last week but not nauseous, now I’m full of energy but very nauseous.

Anyone’s boobs getting bigger already? Mine have looked so sad since breastfeeding in ‘17 so I’m overjoyed they are looking slightly perkier now hah! GrinGrin

BabyG123 · 12/05/2020 14:08

@Hopingfor2021 yes on the boobs 🤣 stopped breast feeding in October and they were rather empty. Now I'm like woohoooooooooo 🤣🤣

Baba11 · 12/05/2020 14:15

@Hopingfor2021 I don't think it is because of my previous mc she said something about having to take bloods. However I will request for another scan at 12 weeks when I go.
Time really is dragging....can't believe it is only Tuesday! Thanks for your help
And yes my chest has increased in size from the little mosquito bites they were before lol Wink

Beautybake5 · 12/05/2020 14:25

Hi everyone hope it's OK to post here, I found out yesterday I'm pregnant. I'm excited as me and my partner had planned to try and get pregnant this year but I just wanted to know if it's normal to feel scared worried and keep thinking what if I can't do it what if I'm a rubbish mum. Also I will be 28 when I give birth what are your opinions on that age? I do tend to worry a lot about what people think and it doesn't help that I'm tiny and look about 17! Thankyou xxx

January 2021 Babies!
BabyG123 · 12/05/2020 14:28

@Beautybake5 I think it's normal to feel anxious. Welcome to the rest of your life! 🤣 my mum always said the worry starts when you fall pregnant and never ends and I believe her with DS1 already!

Some people have babies at 16 some at 45 I don't think any number is a issue just as long as you feel right. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Firsttimemumma1990 · 12/05/2020 14:51

@Beautybake5 congrats! I’m 29 and a first timer too! I think late twenties is a good as any other age.
What is your due date? X

Beautybake5 · 12/05/2020 15:00

Firsttimemuma1990 thankyou congratulations to you too! I think it works out as Jan 12th, when's yours? X

Hopingfor2021 · 12/05/2020 15:23

@Beautybake5 congratulations! I think that's a great age (I was 27 with my first).

FirstTimeMumAt31 · 12/05/2020 15:29

Hey ladies.. just looking for some advice. I rang my GP surgery this afternoon to just enquire how they are doing midwife booking in appointments as my GP said he would refer me last week and the receptionist told me that as I'm only 7 weeks on Friday that it's far to early and I won't be contacted by anyone until in 12-13 weeks. Just feel like I'm in limbo and have no contact to ask questions or enquire about anything. Receptionist couldn't get rid of me quick enough. I know we are in a pandemic but a little support as I'm a first time mom would be nice as this experience is completely new to me and my partner and we just don't know what to do now. 6 more weeks now in limbo.

And on the ladies question about the boobs getting bigger- yes this has happened me also haha

BabyG123 · 12/05/2020 15:32

@FirstTimeMumAt31 you should have a Booking in appointment at 8 weeks then a scan can be between 8-13 weeks. So strange what they said!

Baba11 · 12/05/2020 15:38

@FirstTimeMumAt31
Go on to the website for the hospital you want your baby and see if you are able to self refer
I didn't go through my go at all this time. The hospital rang me next day and I had my booking appointment the following week.

FirstTimeMumAt31 · 12/05/2020 15:39

@BabyG123 I just feel so deflated after that phone call. I said that I thought there was tests to be done before 12 weeks and she just fobbed it off. Looks like i will be going for a private scan when I'm 8 weeks for to give me peace of mind even though it's 120 mile trip to the closest one Sad

FirstTimeMumAt31 · 12/05/2020 15:41

@Baba11 I'm in Northern Ireland so I'm not sure how that works over here of if you can. The closest hospital to me isn't even doing midwife appointments anymore and when I do get one it will be in the next big town over which is a 60 mile round trip but the closest hospital is only 5 mins from me

BabyG123 · 12/05/2020 15:46

@FirstTimeMumAt31 call again tomorrow and hope it's a different receptionist 🤣

FirstTimeMumAt31 · 12/05/2020 15:50

@Baba11 I just looked on my local hospital website and yes indeed you can self refer BUT you need to fill in your form and leave it in your local health centre which at the moment isn't possible as you aren't allowed into the health centre unless you have an app..

I always thought I had great patience until I got pregnant- now I'm doubting it lol

Milkshake54 · 12/05/2020 15:50

@FirstTimeMumAt31 can you google the community midwife team in your area? There may be a website and a number?
Even though I haven’t seen a midwife yet, I’ve had a number that I’ve called to make a few enquiries.
