Hi!
Just got my BFP this weekend.
I got my first faint positive Friday morning with an frer, and today it's much darker (11dpo)!

Leading up to my bfp, I've had icky feeling, tiredness, dizzy spells, headaches, cramps.
Not feeling as icky as with my last pregnancy yet though!
Provisional due date of 7th January using the NHS calculator.

Come and join once you've got your bfp for January 2021, for a few pregnancy pals!

@Flatwhite32 I'm a teacher too and was due in school next week. I bit the bullet and told my head - the only person apart from my OH who knows yet! She knew when I had IVF in January anyway so she knows my history. She was just thrilled for me and completely fine to take me off the rota. We'll review the situation when school starts, assuming I'm still pregnant then 🤞🤞🤞

@BabyG123 I would try not to worry about the test, I know it's hard though. 16dpo is pretty close to 2 weeks, it could well be that your levels are just borderline between what the test considers 1-2 and 2-3. Everyone's levels will vary slightly. @Baba11 you add 2 weeks on to the CB dates to get your 'medical' pregnancy date - doctors will date you from the start of your last cycle, the CB test dates from ovulation. So if you're 'medically' 4 weeks pregnant, the test will say 2 weeks.

Hi all

First time poster here and new to mums net. I tested positive on Monday after missing my period. It's a bit of a surprise as I always thought I'd struggle to conceive (I'm 35 and have never did in my previous relationship of 7 years) and have only been with my new partner for 5 months (we're over the moon).
I've got my first appointment with my midwife on the 27th and it seems so far away. I've been cramping every day up until yesterday and am always thirsty, is this normal? I just can't wait for a medical professional to confirm I actually am pregnant because no matter how many positive tests I do (I've done a few Blush) I still can't quite believe it.
I'm due on the 6th Jan :)

Baba11 · 10/05/2020 11:45

@LadieBirdie congrats. I know still seems unreal doesn't it. I was very thirsty at start now I'm always wanting to pee.

@Carabu1 brown discharge normally suggests d blood. Try not to worry. It may well just be your baba burying into the uterus, or your system clearing out. It's good that they are taking you in for a scan, that will be reassuring. Until then back away from google and just rest.

Milkshake54 · 10/05/2020 11:50

@LadieBirdie congratulations! But just to let you know they aren’t likely to confirm your pregnancy at your appointment, they don’t confirm until your scan at 12 weeks!
I was also really confused and took FMU to the appointment with me and everything 😂

Baba11 · 10/05/2020 12:06

@Carabu1 can I ask how many rounds of clomid did it take for you to get pregnant? I have a friend who is on clomid, 50g.

LadieBirdie · 10/05/2020 12:10

Hey @awizardshouldknowbetter :)

I feel exactly the same! Also, due on the 6th. Really want to tell family but feel like a shouldn't. I know they will be so excited for us x

LadieBirdie · 10/05/2020 12:15

@Milkshake54 thanks for the heads up. I thought there might be a blood test or something 😂. What's a FMU? X

Carabu1 · 10/05/2020 12:39

@Baba11 - yes, I’m grateful they’re doing something, even if I won’t be able to take husband in to hold my hand (quite understandably!). And yes, I should step away from the internet - am going to try and get on with some gardening and diy this afternoon to take my mind off it!!

Re: clomid, I got pregnant on my third round (I did 2 at 50mg, and then was upped to 100mg). Don’t really think anyone was expecting it to work, but the nhs like to go through the motions before they’ll refer for anything more major. Must have just been lucky, I guess, because I didn’t ov on rounds 1 or 2. Best of luck to your friend - I believe 6 rounds is the norm before they move on, but I know from experience that can seem a long time w he n it’s happening to you!

Carabu1 · 10/05/2020 12:50

@LadieBirdie congratulations! If you want to tell family etc you should!! I know I have kept it to myself because I know I couldn’t bear talking about it if it went wrong, but lots of other people feel the opposite and would like that support. Do what feels right to you!

Flatwhite32 · 10/05/2020 12:52

@Carabu1 I had that at 6 weeks in my pregnancy with DD. I immediately assumed it was another MC, but it wasn't! She's now 21 months old. Hope everything goes well at the scan. X

Baba11 · 10/05/2020 14:05

Thanks @Carabu1
She is on her 6th round but I don't think they will bump her up to 100g
Just praying she is blessed soon.
The journey is so long and hard, hats off to you.try not to stress and keep busy. Tmrw will come soon and will put your mind at rest.

Littlebump2018 · 10/05/2020 14:55

Omg these emotions are too much lol. I am actually crying at everything and anything! Is anyone else the same!?

Flatwhite32 · 10/05/2020 15:17

I'm not tearful @Littlebump2018 but my anxiety over miscarrying is getting worse. I don't think covid 19 is helping either. I thought I'd be more relaxed this time round as I have DD, but I guess once you've miscarried, that fear rears its ugly head again when you see that BFP.

Baba11 · 10/05/2020 16:37

I know exactly what you mean @Flatwhite32. I am so worried and current lockdown situation means each week is soooo long.

I'm wishing 7 more weeks away but feels like a lifetime ...

Carabu1 · 10/05/2020 18:08

Thank you so much ladies for the support. I am feeling a bit calmer, and glad that tomorrow I will get some answers either way - it’s the uncertainty I find hard. I’m not a very patient person! I will report back (hopefully with good news...!)

Lockdown makes it harder for sure - time is passing so slowly even without all this! Fingers crossed for us all. @Flatwhite32 having an mc must make it so worrying, and I’m sure that never goes away how ever many successful pregnancies you have - hang in there!

@Baba11 I’m surprised they haven’t upped your friends dose - I was told it could go up to 200mg even. But I guess it depends on your medical history and I know for people who ovulate anyway clomid probably won’t help that much. I hope she gets her dream soon.

BabyG123 · 10/05/2020 18:28

The nausea is unreal 😩

Had it since 2dpo in the mornings until lunch and now it makes a return in the evening too 🤢

Never had this with DS1. At least I have it for a reason 🤪

Flatwhite32 · 10/05/2020 18:31

Oh @BabyG123 poor you! I had no sickness with DD til 8 weeks (then I puked most days, but manageable) until I was 15 weeks. It then randomly came back at 37 weeks!

BabyG123 · 10/05/2020 18:43

@Flatwhite32 I'm a drama queen too when feel like it so DH is loving it 🤣

Gonna be a long 9 months for him 🥰👶🏼

Littlebump2018 · 10/05/2020 19:06

@Flatwhite32 that can't be easy to deal with specially as you've been through it before! Fingers crossed for you.

We had a son before our DD but he wasn't well enough to survive once outside the womb so we had to make the awful decision to terminate for medical reasons so that he didn't suffer. I have anxiety over going to any scan for fear they will find something wrong. I couldn't go through that again.

I was in the mind set for one and done but the OH managed to change my mind.

Flatwhite32 · 10/05/2020 19:14

Oh gosh @Littlebump2018 I'm so sorry for your loss. That must have been so hard. I found out at our 12 week scan about our first baby, so I also have bad scanxiety. We just have to keep everything crossed!

Baba11 · 10/05/2020 19:16

@Littlebump2018 so sorry for your loss. What a horrible decision to make. No wonder we are all anxious. At least we have each other.

Littlebump2018 · 10/05/2020 19:21

@Flatwhite32 @Baba11 least we are all here for each other 💗💗💗.

All I keep telling myself this pregnancy js if i never have another successful pregnancy I have DD and it's keeping me kinda together (ish) lol

Flatwhite32 · 10/05/2020 19:24

@Littlebump2018 my husband and I keep saying that too about our DD! How old is yours? Mine will be 2 in July.

Littlebump2018 · 10/05/2020 19:34

@Flatwhite32 that's awesome! What a lovely age gap. She is 16months (she'll have just turned two when the baby's due date arrives)
