Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@peachypetite that sucks, after ringing twice and then schlepping out to it when you didn't need to go out to the place at all. Can't they just have a consensus that all booking in's are on the phone now across every trust in the UK!

That's rubbish! I hope they called you since and all sorted now. Mine was a palava too, was given 3 different times and dates and they ended up calling at a different day and time! I think with all the changes the processes aren't very good but it's not good you had to go out unnecessarily.

peachypetite · 25/04/2020 14:18

Thanks ladies it sounds like some of you have also had less than smooth experiences too. I feel a bit better and calmer. I have had my phone call and been booked in for my scan so that’s something. Midwife was very apologetic. Hopefully I won’t experience anything else this chaotic going forward.

EithneBlue · 25/04/2020 14:24

@peachypetite Glad to hear it :-) When is your scan scheduled? Hopefully this all blows over soon and things revert to normal :-)

RestorationInsanity · 25/04/2020 18:45

Sorry about the telephone appointment debacle @peachypetite. Hopefully things will be smoother from now on.

I feel really rubbish this evening, nauseous, bloated, knackered. I skipped my afternoon nap today and pushed through which I think was a mistake!

peachypetite · 25/04/2020 19:13

Scan is may 15, which isn’t toooo far away. I had a nap. @restoration I didn’t have one yesterday and I ended up going to bed at 8pm!!

ChampooPapi · 25/04/2020 19:15

Lol ladies , I have a nap and am in bed by 7 at the moment. I'm in the duvet lovelyness now, bliss!

Oh also yes, I've felt sick as a dog all day. My 48 hour migraine has just about abated to a dull ache now.

I explained to my partner like this

Can you imagine having a really bad hangover for 5 weeks?

I think that summs it up nicely doesn't it ladies 😵

OP posts:
peachypetite · 25/04/2020 19:19

Yes it’s funny how everyone feels the same - hangover is the only way to describe it to people who have never experienced it

RestorationInsanity · 25/04/2020 19:35

Yes, hungover is exactly what I said to my husband. The first night after I found out I was pregnant I went to bed about 8.30 and felt so exhausted and so yuck it was like the room was spinning. I think because for some of the day I feel pretty good and am not actually being sick (although very slow and dopey!) I forget that I feel quite shit the other times. Still, there is a pizza on its way and then bed!

I find it weird how some days I've felt almost normal, and then other days it's like I've been hit by a train!

MySafeSpace · 25/04/2020 19:44

That's a very good way to describe it. I've said I feel icky, couldn't find any other words. Constant tiredness followed by nausea. I feel restless too like I should be doing something, however feeling shattered just doing some basic housework - my choice. I feel constantly guilty just lounging around and can feel the pounds creeping on!! Really don't want to be moaned at for my weight

twinsbelly · 25/04/2020 19:57

Hello! Can I join here?
I'm not completely sure how far I am but think somewhere between 8 and 9 weeks. I have a scan on Thursday to make sure. Managed to get an early one through the midwife as I had twins last time I was pregnant so want to make sure there's just one in there this time! I already have a 4 year old and 2 year old twins.
Feeling quite anxious this time round even though it was totally unexpected, I have it in my head that something has gone wrong as I've stopped feeling sick at all, so kind of dreading Thursday. I also have an interview for a promotion that day so doubly dreading it!

ChampooPapi · 25/04/2020 21:12

Welcome @twinsbelly 🙌

Sorry it's not a positive article but it's about finances so could be a useful update for some

Hi All. I'm 32 and 9 weeks today with first baby. Has taken us 18 months to get here. Feeling so lazy and like everything requires so much effort. heaving a lot but no actual vomit yet. my scan is on the 19th terrified I'll get to it and will be mmc

MySafeSpace · 25/04/2020 22:13

@roro87 welcome
Think positive thoughts, I'm sure your scan will be fine but everyone here is rooting for everyone else so feel free to vent your anxieties here. We all have them

roro87 · 25/04/2020 22:16

thanks @MySafeSpace I've no reason to think that just when you see it mentioned a lot you get worried. So far everything seems to be going normally got much sicker this week.

peachypetite · 26/04/2020 07:50

Welcome to the new ladies! Is anyone else experiencing worse nausea in the evening? I’ve been feeling a bit better but then it’s quite often the case that I’ll start feeling nauseous and can’t stomach anything for dinner :(

MummyShark97 · 26/04/2020 07:55

@peachypetite this is me 100% and often combined with a headache! Find myself waking up quite early and having waves of nausea throughout the day but it gets so much worse at night

peachypetite · 26/04/2020 08:27

Omg yes the headaches in the evening :( I’m drinking loads so I don’t think it’s dehydration but I did google it and it says it’s linked to the pregnancy hormones.

hollyjg · 26/04/2020 08:46

Hello all,
Been very reassuring reading all messages.
I'm 28 partner is 46 we have a 8 month old and have just found out I'm 10+2 with twins!
Therefore we are going to have 3 under 14 months! Wish me luck!
I've had my booking appointment over the phone which was 90 minutes - which was before my first scan so midwife is unaware I'm having twins?
Am not sure whether to book my 12 week scan myself or wait for a call myself?
Lovely to meet everyone!

roro87 · 26/04/2020 09:00

@hollyjg congratulations and just think how close they will all be growing up together. My friend has twin sisters 12 months younger than her and they are more like triplets.

@peachypetite I'm not too bad at night but when I get up to go to bed always start heaving. my mornings have got worse and worse though. Although my doctor said it's a positive sign in general so I try and remember that when things are rough

MySafeSpace · 26/04/2020 09:04

@hollyjg wow congrats

hollyjg · 26/04/2020 09:16

@roro87 thanks for saying that!
I've been worried about our older boy - not much older - feeling left out when the twins come as he will be so young himself still and obviously used to us all to himself!

hollyjg · 26/04/2020 09:18

Has anyone got terrible skin due to hormones as well?
Any good stretch mark recommendations as well? I didn't have any with my first but I think as I'm having twins they are going to be much worse this time around.
Thanks!
