Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@Bobbieblu yes mines a week on Thursday and is for the Harmony test at a private clinic. Apparently they can tell me the sex when the results come back but only if it is two girls. If even one is a boy it muddies the results so if boy dna is present it'll mean either two boys or one of each.

I need to chill, I keep thinking one of the babies will have dissapeared, this is a really hard time to get through on house arrest virtually. It's on my mind constantly!

@champoopapi sorry for being quiet- time zone differences I guess!
I had terrible bouts of indigestion yesterday- could barely keep anything down. Yet today, I feel almost normal, only slightly queasy. I suppose we are bound for good and bad days. Silly to feel reassured by the bad days. My next scan isn’t for another week and a half and I’m anxious to know everything is OK.
I haven’t really gone off anything- but definitely much more mindful of what I’m eating and drinking. Plenty of water and fruit tea, fruits and veggies. I find bread gives me indigestion so I’m trying to avoid it. Which sucks because I’m a carb lover!

ChampooPapi · 24/04/2020 14:59

@Ausbaby43 yes the last few weeks and especially the last week I've finally gone back to eating all the good stuff, I'm vegetarian anyway but I had been living off carbs, for a while all I ate was cheddar , rice cakes and pineapple.

I did devour an entire packet of jelly sugar dinosaurs in bed last night, god they were better then sex 😆

I'm ordering pizza tonight, not hugly into bread either for the same reasons but devouring a decent pizza has been what's got me through the day today. My partner was like 'we have a frozen pizza you know'.... My face said it all. I mean how dare he suggest such a thing!

(Even though I ate such a thing last week)

Well thank God it's Friday ladies 🙌 hope everyone is doing well, feeling slightly better generally, and not obsessing as much as me about things one can't control 🙏

@Jasminex1 yes! I feel like pregnancy is a lot of waiting and then panic when you realise there's hardly any time left to get ready Grin

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 15:53

Hi everyone.
I’m 8+5 according to LMP due 29th November with my first. I’ve had an early scan today though as had some bleeding and it didn’t look as expected for almost 9 weeks. Yolk sack, baby and heartbeat visible just not as big as expected. Back next Friday for clearer scan hopefully see baby better.
Morning sickness comes and goes throughout the day, exhausted and boobs are growing and like a motorway with blue veins 😳.

Bobbieblu · 24/04/2020 15:54

@ChampooPapi that is so exciting that you’ll get an indication of gender! In my weird dreams the genders keeps changing and so I don’t have a clue what I’m expecting. If I don’t go for the harmony test I’ll definitely be asking at the 20 week scan.

I think house arrest is giving us all far too much time to worry, but I also think it’s really nature to do so. Hopefully the next scans that everyone has will give a bit of reassurance and can then start to enjoy being pregnant (I say whilst pinned to my sofa with nausea and exhaustion - enjoyment feels a really long way away!)

Bobbieblu · 24/04/2020 15:56

@AmyC2020 did they say how much smaller than expected? I think at these early scans it can be really difficult to get an accurate measurement and they usually give a date plus or minus 4days. I’ve got my fingers crossed for your next scan and sending hugs for now.

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 16:02

Hi,
No they didn’t say and to be honest I was so happy they said they could see baby and a heartbeat that I didn’t ask how far along I seemed on the scan. They mentioned to each other something about 2.8mm but didn’t say whether that was baby or yolk sack or something else. But 2.8mm for baby at this stage is very small but sonographer said the scan wasn’t clear enough and that’s why I’m back next week. Just hope everything’s ok. Thank you for your kindness

MySafeSpace · 24/04/2020 16:38

@AmyC2020 twin due date!!
Good luck for your next scan next week, fingers crossed you get some good news!! I've just received my date for my scan and it's not till 20th May which feels like a lifetime away...

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 16:41

Thank you!
That's the same scan date as me. Fingers crossed all good for us both ☺️

MySafeSpace · 24/04/2020 16:44

@AmyC2020 ooh how exciting

RestorationInsanity · 24/04/2020 17:10

@AmyC2020 sorry the scan wasn't clear but a heartbeat is really good and fingers crossed next week will be a lot more reassuring.

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 17:18

@RestorationInsanity that's what I keep saying and the sonographer said everything looks ok. I'm just a anxious person to be honest. Thank you

RestorationInsanity · 24/04/2020 17:22

I'm not surprised. It's a terrifying time with no control of what happens. One day at a time, that's all any of us can do.

Clemmie83 · 24/04/2020 17:25

Just had my booking in appointment! Was taken by surprise a little, I thought it would be at an arranged time but I just got a call to do it there and then (after just being sick for the first time 10 mins before!) spent the whole call wondering if I'd make it through without a dash to the bathroom! 🤣

At least it's done now though and I feel like I've finally got the ball rolling! Can't wait to get my date through for my scan!

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 17:49

@RestorationInsanity definitely one day at a time and some calming apps and music!

@Clemmie83 not the best time for someone to want to talk to you I suppose but at least you've done another step 😊

lionsmum · 24/04/2020 18:05

Hey everyone hope you're all keeping well! Had my NHS scan this morning which went well and baby is measuring 8wks today which is great. Heartbeat seen and going back 2 weeks today for another scan which is nice and something to look forward to.

@AmyC2020 I'm sorry the scan didn't exactly go to plan but great that you saw baby and a HB! Fingers crossed you see some progression next week

@ChampooPapi you really have me in the mood for pizza now!

AmyC2020 · 24/04/2020 18:08

@lionsmum thank you 😊 yes I hoping for a clearer image.

Congratulations on your 8 weeks mark, lovely thing to look forward to as well ❤️ good luck with all your pregnancy.

RunnerGirl123 · 24/04/2020 18:39

I had my booking in appointment over the phone today, and the midwife was so friendly. It made this pregnancy feel more real. Looking forward to receiving my scan date soon, so I have the next date to count down to!!
Hope you're all feeling okay.

ChampooPapi · 24/04/2020 19:04

@lionsmum you must have felt such relief, so happy for you 💜✨

Hi ladies. Hope it's okay if I join, im due 24th November with my second. I already have a 3yo. Nausea has been pretty full on the last couple of weeks but think it may be starting to ease now. I have my NHS scan on 11th May, can't wait! Congratulations to everyone Smile

AmyC2020 · 25/04/2020 09:20

Hi @NatalieH2220

Congratulations on your pregnancy. Hope everything's goes well 😊

peachypetite · 25/04/2020 09:21

I’m absolutely livid. Just been turned away from my booking appt despite the fact I rang to double check it was still in person and nobody has contacted me to advise otherwise. They said “oh they are by phone now due to Covid” I actually burst into tears and said it wasn’t good enough. I feel like I’ve been waiting for this appt for weeks. Someone is meant to be calling me shortly. Not holding my breath :( I feel really lef down.

EithneBlue · 25/04/2020 09:34

@peachypetite Oh that's super crappy :-( Especially as you called to check. Doing it by phone is fine as it's mostly just personal details and medical history but that's so not the point. I hope they were apologetic?
Let us know when they call you back. Fingers crossed they sort it out quickly.

Clemmie83 · 25/04/2020 10:24

@peachypetite That's awful, no wonder you were upset! I had someone call to do mine this morning, despite having done it yesterday. I think they're all over the place at the moment!
