Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@hollyjg How exciting!! Let us know how your scan goes 🥰

excitednerves · 06/05/2020 10:53

@firstbabybell I have to say the hospital here are brilliant. I had my first baby there as well and the midwives are outstanding. They are trying to keep things as normal as possible which is very reassuring.

12 days and counting! I’m one of those lucky (?) people who don’t get many pregnancy symptoms so it’s 12 days of stress. I’ve waited this long so there’s not much I can do but be patient.

@Teaandbiscuits123 this is a brilliant idea.

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 10:55

@Snowwhite2020 hope that eases your mind. I’m feeling a bit better today and have had some toast and kept it down.

Snowwhite2020 · 06/05/2020 11:16

That’s good @peachypetite. The sickness is really difficult but keeping anything down on a bad day is an achievement xx

lionsmum · 06/05/2020 11:27

@hollyjg if I remember correctly you can have a private scan at 16 weeks to find out the sex of both babies or find out at your NHS 20 week scanSmile it's just because @ChampooPapi is having an NIPT and part of that is they can tell the sex of your baby through the blood test they do, it looks for the Y chromosome though so if you are having twins and it finds the Y chromosome it can't tell you if it's just one twin who is male or if it is both, unless they are identical. If they are non-identical and the Y chromosome is found then baby 2 might still be female but there's no way to know until they are big enough to see the sex via ultrasoundSmile hope that makes sense!

hollyjg · 06/05/2020 11:50

Thanks @lionsmum that does make sense!
I think mine are identical but I'm excited to find out for sure today.

Thanks for all the best wishes everyone.
Has the clock ever ticked slower 😫😉🙊

lionsmum · 06/05/2020 12:21

@hollyjg I didn't realise you had your scan today! Is this the 12 week one? Best of luck🥰

MummyShark97 · 06/05/2020 12:24

@hollyjg awh really thinking of you today, all the best and sending lots of good vibes x

hollyjg · 06/05/2020 13:20

Thanks guys
Yeah it's my 12 week I'm only 11+6 but should be fine!
I'm pacing the house like a trapped animal waiting to go 😫🥳

skinnyhotchoc · 06/05/2020 13:44

Can I join? I've been avoiding chatting on these threads after mmc in January and a bit of spotting early on with this one. I'm 10 weeks today. Had an early scan last week at EPAU and things looked good so hoping this is a keeper. Had my letter for my 12 week scan but it's not until I'm 13+3 which is a bit disappointing but I've got my harmony test booked in for the 21st. I've been really badly nauseated but not actually sick from week 6. Feel slightly better today which is a relief but a worry at the same time. @ChampooPapi I remember you from other friends. I can't believe you're having twins! How amazing! Congrats

skinnyhotchoc · 06/05/2020 13:56

Threads not friends lol

Amytitch · 06/05/2020 14:07

@skinnyhotchoc Congrats on your baby!! 🥰 I read a separate thread where some people have been very nauseous from the pregnancy tablets they're taking- mainly Pregnacare! Hopefully it'll ease off for you in a few weeks, I am hoping mine does too x

skinnyhotchoc · 06/05/2020 14:23

@Amytitch oh yes I'm taking pregnacare. I've been blaming them for my constipation. I really need to swap them for something else!

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 14:50

I’ve got the seven seas pregnancy vitamins which had good reviews on Superdrug. Pregnacare don’t seem great based on what I read! I’ve been so off food that I think a multivitamin is a good idea.

skinnyhotchoc · 06/05/2020 15:17

@peachypetite I know it sounds ridiculous but I was on the seven seas with my miscarriage and I know obviously it was nothing to do with them I just wanted nothing to be the same! Thinking about it I was a lot more regular on the seven seas. I've got the digestive system of a brick at the moment

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 16:48

Bloody hell I can’t believe the size of these tablets, gagged but managed to keep it down!

firstbabybell · 06/05/2020 17:05

@peachypetite are they as big a the Pregnacare horse pills?!

I don't think I've had any problems with Pregnacare in fairness. I did question whether it was responsible for the sickness but on reflection I think it's just the hormones!

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 17:09

Big purple thing. Couldn’t break in half. It is supposedly 21 vitamins so that explains the size of them I guess?

firstbabybell · 06/05/2020 17:12

@peachypetite sounds grim. These pregnancy vitamins are definitely designed by a man. 🙄

Do we have any scans tomorrow???

motherofsnortpigs · 06/05/2020 18:03

Can I jump on the bus, please? 11 weeks today with #6. I know I should know what I’m doing by now, but hanging about on MN is one of my favourite pregnancy pastimes and it seems rude to carry on just lurking. I’m a bit of a hippy at heart (and scared of hospitals) so I have declined my 12 week scan and booking bloods. Will brave it for the 20 week anomaly scan and if all seems well will birth at home. So that’s me. Eagerly awaiting scan news from @hollyjg !

firstbabybell · 06/05/2020 18:43

Hi @motherofsnortpigs! 👋 Very different approach - love it! How old are your other children? 😄

hollyjg · 06/05/2020 19:48

Hi all!
Great news from the scan 🥰
Both babies are very healthy and we're moving around loads could see their little legs kicking was the most amazing thing!
Everyone at hospital was so kind and I got to see the twin midwife straight away who was amazing and said my bloods came back great as well
They are definetely in the same sack as well so two identical little beans 🤩
Super super happy right now!
Hope everyone else doing ok today xxx

hollyjg · 06/05/2020 19:50

The midwife prescribed me vitamins as well and said I just need to be on folic acid and vitamin D so coming off the horse pills.
As @ChampooPapi said you just pee out the excess anyways 😂😫

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 19:58

@hollyjg wonderful news, so pleased for you, it must be a relief.

kkr168 · 06/05/2020 20:03

Brilliant news @hollyjg & everyone that had positive scans yesterday Flowers
