Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

I've also just completely lost my nerve with it and booked a private one for Thurs afternoon. OH is allowed to come too so that's a lovely bonus.

hollyjg · 05/05/2020 17:47

Mines not till 4 @ChampooPapi which is awful just going to be waiting around all day really wish it earlier
But still exciting. It's in the fetal medicine unit so hoping to meet someone from the twins unit at the same time. Is yours the same?

😊

RestorationInsanity · 05/05/2020 17:53

Congratulations @Bobbieblu! Here's to a few weeks of excellent scan related news all round.

Sorry to hear you're still feeling rough @peachypetite. Hopefully it will have eased off by tomorrow and you can get some relief.

ChampooPapi · 05/05/2020 18:02

@hollyjg I'm having the Harmony test so the scan comes before that to confirm the babies and do the measurements. That's so great you get to see a twin specialist! Tell all on your return tomorrow evening of you can 😊

Hi Lovelies! I hope everyone is doing ok. So thank G-d the scan went well this morning. I was such a nervous wreck and almost in tears before I’d even walked into the hospital! It was so lovely to see bean jumping around!

@hollyjg and @ChampooPapi - Thursday will come around in no time. I was also building myself up and couldn't take my mind off it.

As someone else said - I hope it’s lovely scan stories all round in the coming weeks!

hollyjg · 05/05/2020 18:48

Yay I'm so happy for you @Teaandbiscuits123 be lovely to relax a bit now 🥰🥳

ChampooPapi · 05/05/2020 18:49

@Teaandbiscuits123 that is the best news, I was going to ask earlier but didn't want to badger you, I've been thinking about yours all day too 😄. Fantastic news 💜🐣

What were you measuring and has your due date changed?

hollyjg · 05/05/2020 18:58

My hormones are terrible today and felt really down. I used to work in a pub and was around people all day so lockdown has made me feel really alone 😫
Cried at every video I've watched on Facebook today!
Hoping having scan tomorrow will cheer me up a bit 🙏😌

firstbabybell · 05/05/2020 19:05

Congratulations ladies! Lovely news.

And... Good luck tomorrow! X

ChampooPapi · 05/05/2020 19:07

@hollyjg my symptoms have been really good today and what with the scan looming and having had a missed miscarriage I am really am so worried something has gone wrong. Tomorrow is literally going to be the longest day of my life!

MummyShark97 · 05/05/2020 20:12

@champoopapi will be thinking of you tomorrow!

lionsmum · 05/05/2020 20:17

Congratulations to those who had a positive scan today and good luck tomorrow @ChampooPapi will be thinking of you. I have a scan on Friday but it's only a 10 week one, my 12 week scan isn't until the 21st so a wee while to go!

ChampooPapi · 05/05/2020 20:35

Thanks ladies, mine is Thursday at 10-50 and @hollyjg is tomorrow at 4.

I'll only be ten weeks and six days at mine as it's a harmony test. Going to sleet now so I can stop worrying basically. Watching the family doing Jo wicks tomorrow should take my mind of things for the morning, I spectate from the sofa 😄

ChampooPapi · 05/05/2020 20:36

@lionsmum we can get through this week together 💜 please update after yours 🙏 this week is too much isn't it!

lionsmum · 05/05/2020 22:14

@ChampooPapi agreed, it's really dragging! Are you going to find out the sex if your twins are identical? I guess if they are non-identical it would be impossible to determine until the 16 week mark! Hope you manage to get a good rest inSmile

ChampooPapi · 06/05/2020 06:42

Morning ladies 🌞

@MummyShark97 good for you booking one, if it's driving you crazy it is so good to have that reassurance so you can actually enjoy some of your time being pregnant currently. Otherwise it just taints everything with crippling worry.

Still a lot less symptoms my end, open the fridge this morning to get milk out for cereal and retched so that is something!

No other bad signs so got to keep the faith today. Going to stay off my phone until post scan tomorrow, I think it's for the best.

Good luck to everyone over the next few days and I'll be back Thursday afternoon to see how you all got on and to let you all know the outcome

Morning all!
Terrible morning sickness today but I don't mind to much as it's SCAN DAY 🥳🥳

Just have to wait until 4 boyfriend is coming home at lunch from work so that will make day go a bit quicker!

@lionsmum if my twins are identical will I be able to find out the sex at 12 week scan then? Sorry all a bit new to this lol

Hope everyone is good this morning 😘🤰🏼

EithneBlue · 06/05/2020 08:53

Good luck those of you with scans in the next day or too! :-)

Teaandbiscuits123 · 06/05/2020 09:27

Good morning all!

@hollyjg thinking of you today! I hope the day flies by so that 4 o’clock comes around quickly!

@ChampooPapi thanks lovely! It was amazing and I’m hoping I’ll relax a little bit now although I think I’ll still be a nervous nelly all the way through! I hope today goes quickly for you - keep yourself super busy and tomorrow will be here before you know it! X

excitednerves · 06/05/2020 09:32

Hi all

I’ve been popping in and out of this thread. Good luck to those having scans today and congratulations to those with good news!

I was booked in yesterday then had blood and urine done at the GP. Of course I couldn’t pee on demand so I had to go back later with a sample. Nightmare. It’s starting to feel real now but still 12 days to the scan. The wait is killing me!

firstbabybell · 06/05/2020 09:40

@excitednerves - 12 days isn't long! It's nice you were actually offered bloods & urine test at your booking in. Think that's pretty much unheard of!

Is anyone else on here IVF? I can't remember if it's just me 🤔

Teaandbiscuits123 · 06/05/2020 09:53

By the way ladies - top tip for urine samples (I used to work with midwives and saw loads of women do it!!) take a disposable plastic cup from the water cooler and pee in that then transfer into the urine pot ... soooo much easier lol

peachypetite · 06/05/2020 09:59

I think I’m going to take my own sample to avoid having to wee on demand!

Snowwhite2020 · 06/05/2020 10:19

Well girls I was feeling sick again last night (but again nothing like before) but just vomited up all my breakfast at the thought of making my husband a coffee. Held the kettle and......... so that must be a good sign. I’m hoping it’s just been the placenta taking over and I’m now in this patchy good day/ bad day period that lots of us are reporting. Hope others are doing ok this morning xx

Amytitch · 06/05/2020 10:22

Hi everyone! I am 10w2d today (FTM), I had an early scan privately yesterday and all was looking good. Luckily my partner was able to come in with me but at my 12w scan he is not able to as this will be at the hospital. I'm quite apprehensive about going in alone, has anyone else been told what to expect when they get there? I have been suffering severe sickness since week 6, I am hoping the end is in sight soon but I am trying to stay positive that this usually means a healthy baby!! How is everyone else coping with sickness? Are there any foods you find manageable? Congrats everyone😁
