Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

Bleugh I’m really off food today! Thank god for fruit and crackers. It’s so frustrating feeling hungry and not being able to stomach anything proper.

JustFrigginNameChange · 04/05/2020 16:03

@peachypetite i know what you mean. Ive gone off some of my favourite foods: eggs, tuna, coffee. Even bacon doesnt do anything for me anymore. I just want runny food like soup and beans. Cheese is still a winner though, thank god!

peachypetite · 04/05/2020 16:18

Omg me too, cheese is the only thing I can stomach!

MummyShark97 · 04/05/2020 17:23

literally eating cucumber and celery today as I can't bear the the thought of usual food and also can't stop thinking about sweet potato soup ... hopefully we're through this soon!

peachypetite · 04/05/2020 17:53

I’m honestly so sick of first trimester. Time has never passed so slowly.

RestorationInsanity · 04/05/2020 20:28

Oh yes thank God for cheese. I haven't gone off much, although yesterday tea and parsnips tasted horrible! And I wake up in the middle of the night fantasising about a really specific food. One night it was pears, so I had a pear for breakfast. It's so weird!

I'm still feeling grotty, had a 2 hour nap this afternoon. Is there some sort of hormonal surge at 9 weeks?

roro87 · 04/05/2020 21:31

@RestorationInsanity week 9 was my toughest one so far. I asked the doctor today while chatting about other things and she says from some it's when their hormones are at the highest just before placenta starts to kick in.

firstbabybell · 04/05/2020 22:02

@restorationinsanity I am also getting very specific cravings & intense dislikes. What I'm struggling with is trying to predict what I'm going to want / despise for the week ahead as we are just getting a weekly supermarket delivery & avoiding shops in between.

Husband went to collect my bras (oh the bras! 🥰) from M&S tonight so I ordered spag bol ready meal, Percy Pigs & chocolate cookies. Had gone off the idea of cookies by the time he got home!

Feeling so shite tonight. 😩

Teaandbiscuits123 · 04/05/2020 22:38

@firstbabybell I know exactly what you mean! My hubby asked me when we can start telling people ... I asked him who he wanted to tell and he told me he needs to explain himself to the people in our local shop because he’s buying such bizarre things!

It literally changes everyday! I’ve put myself off so many things by eating them non stop and then not wanting to even look at them anymore!

firstbabybell · 05/05/2020 07:23

@teaandbiscuits123 😂😂😂 That's hilarious.

Yep, you can add mint imperials to the naughty list for me after binging on them yesterday!

peachypetite · 05/05/2020 07:33

Have had my first vomiting attack, nasty. Praying it was a one off, I absolutely hate being sick and don’t know how some women do it daily Sad

firstbabybell · 05/05/2020 07:51

@peachypetite sorry to hear that, hope you're ok. Does it make you feel better afterwards though?

EithneBlue · 05/05/2020 07:55

Oh that sucks @peachypetite :-( Are you feeling better now?

peachypetite · 05/05/2020 08:13

I had a headache before which went after I was sick but feeling very food averse this morning. So random how a few days ago I ate a proper lunch, breakfast and dinner and for the last couple I’ve been completely off food! How’s everyone else?

firstbabybell · 05/05/2020 08:25

Awake in the night feeling sick which is new. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Don't feel too bad at the mo but I can feel it bubbling away under the surface. Think today might be a bad day - yesterday afternoon & evening was miserable. 😩

hollyjg · 05/05/2020 08:29

I had the worst headaches yesterday.
We are trying to find something to rent ASAP! As we really have to move but because of lockdown we are in London and the houses we want to rent are in Liverpool and it's stressing me out and giving me terrible anxiety (which causes me nausea) 🤢😫

Thankfully boyfriends family are being really helpful and looking at places for us but it's horrible having no time scale of when we can go - I just want to start nesting.

On a brighter note one more sleep till scan

Good luck for yours today @Teaandbiscuits123 🥳

Teaandbiscuits123 · 05/05/2020 08:41

@hollyjg Thank you! We’re on our way now and I’m so nervous - poor hubby is going to have to wait in the car!

I’m sorry you’ve had headaches - I also had a terrible one yesterday and last night and have woken up with a bad stomach and feeling really sick (which hasn’t been nearly as bad for the last week). It’s so strange

EithneBlue · 05/05/2020 09:49

Good Luck @Teaandbiscuits123 -- thinking about you!! Let us know how it goes :-)

@peachypetite - that's no fun at all :( Decaf tea with 2 sugars is my go-to for headaches and nausea, if you can stomach it?

This morning I woke up and gagged on my coffee (after a couple of days where I've been able to drink the whole mug without that)... not a great sign, but I decided to do one of those Kayla Itsines pregnancy circuits anyway (lack of exercise is causing a rapid decline in my mental health and I'm starting to get to the point where all I want to do is hide in the duvet) -- I immediately feel better :-)

peachypetite · 05/05/2020 10:10

Nibbling on crackers and a herbal tea. My god I just want to fast forward to november!!!! Well done for the exercise

Snowwhite2020 · 05/05/2020 10:27

Hi girls, after being terribly sick and on medication for the first part of the pregnancy, I appeared to lose the sickness completely, along with a loss of the “super smells nose” and my boobs are less sore than they were. I’m now on day 5 of feeling reduced symptoms and I’m worried. I phoned the midwife who basically told me it’s possible I’m just feeling better and it’s possible I’ve miscarried... though I have no blood or pain. She said pee on a pregnancy stick next week and find out??? Wtf!? Because of coronovirus nothing they can do. My scan is not for another 2 weeks. I’m not happy....

hollyjg · 05/05/2020 10:30

@Snowwhite2020 that's insane!
Is there a walk in early pregnancy unit at your hospital?
At my local you can just walk in in the mornings and fill out a form and have a early pregnancy scan - before 12 weeks you don't have to be referred or anything.
Either for dating or just to put your mind at ease.
Maybe check local hospitals near you and see if any of them have that.

Bobbieblu · 05/05/2020 10:44

@Snowwhite2020 how far along are you? At some point between 9/10 and 12 weeks it‘s meant to be really normal for symptoms to decrease. Agree with Hollyjg re EPU- worth seeing if your hospital or one nearby can scan to check everything is ok.

firstbabybell · 05/05/2020 10:49

@snowwhite2020 agree this is not good enough from your midwife.

If the walk in service is not available for you I'd bypass your midwife & go straight to your GP. They should have access to EPU too & could book you an appointment I'm sure.

I would have thought that extreme anxiety caused by change in symptoms is an indication for early scan.

Let us know how you go XXX

Snowwhite2020 · 05/05/2020 10:57

I’m 10+1 today. I phoned the EPU and they said I’m to phone back on Thursday if still feeling no symptoms and they will scan me... I then got a phone call from midwife 5 minutes later saying she had spoken to EPU and their policy was that they wouldn’t see me. You can imagine her surprise when I told her that’s not what I’d just been told....
