Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@Teaandbiscuits123 arhhhh! Your scan is Tuesday, so just one full day!

I'm metaphorically/virtually screaming into a pillow for you 😆

It's 100 percent all I'm going to be doing about mine Thursday, this week 🤯

@ChampooPapi Haha yep - I’m trying to keep busy so that it can just come already! It’s at 9am so at least I won’t spend the morning getting myself worked up. I’m totally nervous and just praying all is ok.

Thursday will roll around in no time! Grin

firstbabybell · 03/05/2020 20:01

Good luck for tomorrow @teaandbiscuits123!

I have invested in some sea sickness bands - will let you know if they're any good.

Also, massive order of new M&S bras arriving on Tuesday. Cannot wait!

Those of you who have children or are still physically at work are actual superwomen. All I've done today is lie down in an exhausted stupor.

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 20:15

@EithneBlue I have two children and all I've done is this too 😏

I just hope everyone else's husbands and partners who are home are pulling their weight with the domestic chores, kids, pets, cooking, everything to be quite frank.

We are building a human and are just out of it for a month or so, then we will all bounce back. It's hardly a long time for them to do stuff for.

I wish mine was here all day to help @ChampooPapi but he does a 14 hour day and comes home knackered! But it's needs must at the moment.
He does always take the baby for an hour when he comes home so I can have a bath and relax 🥰

You're so lucky @Teaandbiscuits123 that yours is at 9am mine is at 4pm and it's the worst thing waiting around all day! But still only 3 days to go 🥳

Hope everyone has had a nice evening 😊🤰🏼

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 20:52

Only 4 sleeps till Thursday @ChampooPapi no time at all 😘

EithneBlue · 03/05/2020 20:58

@ChampooPapi Without my husband, I would be in quite a pickle: he's looked after me pretty amazingly. I did say to him earlier that I am genuinely afraid I'll be this tired for the next 20 years. He laughed at me😂

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 21:04

@EithneBlue trust me you really won't, yes newborns are tiring, and yes, toddlers can be a little trying. But nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is as bad as the first trimester of pregnancy when you have full on symptoms. Once your over this you will be absolutely fine, and when you give birth you feel so much better being a single entity that doesn't get all those niggly pregnancy symptoms you get in the later stages.

Pregnancy is the hardest part by a long shot 😊

@hollyjg I'm wigging out! It's too bloody intense this wait, I would do anything to wake up and it be Thursday morning tomorrow 😴

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 21:09

@EithneBlue oh and ditto, without my partner I would have expired weeks ago 😂 he is doing everything.

But he's not working and when those twin night feeds happen and he's sleeping peacefully on the sofa because he has work the next day I'll be grateful enough for this time not to curse him.

It's swings and roundabouts and it's his turn now to be mother and father. But my time will come again where I am literally juggling everything while he whistles away working on some garden out in the world so my guilt is zero

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 21:10

He is a landscape gardener by the way 🌳

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 21:11

Though right now he is my 50s housewife 😏

OP posts:
hollyjg · 03/05/2020 21:15

@ChampooPapi damn right you should have no guilt at all!
I know the feeling when they say oh I'm up for work tomorrow I can't do the night feed - as if the little lovely's don't keep us up all day and night 😂
You go sister and make the most of it now.
I'm just waiting until mine takes his paternity leave I will be making the most of that - I told him he has to take double as it twins 😂👭

The babies are a breeze after this HELL of the first trimester you are so right about that.

@firstbabybell please let me know what those bras are like my boobs are like swollen watermelons at the moment 🍉🍉🍉

lionsmum · 03/05/2020 21:30

How is everyone doing? Having a slight moment of panic over here that we are going to get bad news at our next scan on Friday. My symptoms are still coming and going but I have been experiencing mild uterine pains, I know it's probably due to baby and everything else growing but can't help feeling like something bad is going to happen! Sorry for being so negative, the 1st trimester is a slog indeed!🤦🏼‍♀️

roro87 · 03/05/2020 21:43

@firstbabybell I don't know about for morning sickness but they have really helped me before with Travel sickness I'm such a bad traveller. I must find mine although haven't been too sick last few days.

Just want to say best of luck to everyone having their scan this week. I'll be thinking of you all 15 days to mine

roro87 · 03/05/2020 21:46

@lionsmum I know the feeling I've had really bad cramps last two days and this morning no cramps but feel very sensitive mine seems more gastro related but still makes you worried. I heaved this morning and my boyfriend said at least it will ease your mind a bit which is true.

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 21:48

@lionsmum the first trimester is shit and are hormones are playing crazy tricks on our mind. I know it's hard not to but try not to worry your scan will be here before you know it. A few more weeks and we are al past this shitty time 😊😌

peachypetite · 04/05/2020 07:50

Hi all. Have you received letters with your scan date and time or just been told via the midwife?

EithneBlue · 04/05/2020 08:08

@peachypetite I had a letter a few days after booking in with info, instructions, etc. -- I think they run off separate booking systems from the regular appointments here, though: the midwife had no clue when it was!

peachypetite · 04/05/2020 08:12

Hmm so do you think I should chase? I got told on the phone call for my booking appt but after the last fiasco I think I’d rather have it properly confirmed. Who do I talk to about that though?

NatalieH2220 · 04/05/2020 08:17

@peachypetite my GP arranged mine, I got the scan date letter through before my booking in appointment.

Definitely worth a chase to make sure you don't miss out.

peachypetite · 04/05/2020 08:19

I got told date and time on the phone but I’m just feeling a bit anxious after what happened with my first appt and would feel better having it in writing.

ChampooPapi · 04/05/2020 08:31

@peachypetite I was given the scan booking number by my midwife and was told to call a few days (read a week in reality as it took a while for them to receive/process my notes from her)

Then when I booked over the phone the next day a letter came confirming the time and date as well as the information on the scan itself, comfortable bladder ect.

I would Google your local hospitals antinatal clinic or early pregnancy unit and give them a call. It will 100 percent be the wrong number but they will give you the right one and you can confirm it
