Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@peachypetite yes I'd definitely say it's more of a preventative thing with these oils and creams, once you've got them they really do fade over time but are very unlikely to go away. But I'd also say that by using creams or oils it also won't stop stretch marks it their tracks, oils and creams certainly help with keeping the skin hydrated and supple which will help with stretch, but the marks themselves can be very cruel in where they target and how severely.

They are especially cruel to some who cream their entire body religiously only to get the tiger stripes absolutely everywhere, compared to someone who uses nothing and actually gets little to no stretchmarks.

For example someone who is very slim could get the absolute worst ones or not get any at all. Or get them all over their thy/bum area when they've been concentrating on their expanding belly .

Same for a woman who is overweight, exactly the same can happen.

Skin is genetic as well so the science behind these oils and creams is to be debated.

But hydrating skin is never a bad idea, especially as that is one of the things proven to work in combatting and fading marks generally.

How well it works, it's very dependant on the individual though

Hi all,

I hope you don’t mind me jumping on. I’m due in mid November so just coming up to 12 weeks. It would be great to be able to compare notes - especially with fewer appointments/midwives to talk to.

Like some of you, I have had previous losses (2 early losses in the last 6 months) so I’m a complete nervous wreck! We had a private scan at 9 weeks which went well and I have my 12 week scan on Tuesday - like another poster said, I’m flitting between excitement and anxiety.

Since last week symptoms have seemed to come and go more - I’ve had days where I feel almost fine and days when I can’t get off the sofa. The smell of just about everything is still making me feel sick! I’ve read that the placenta takes over at around this time so lots of women find that their symptoms change/decrease.

Anyway enough about me, I hope you’re all feeling as well as can be expected this morning and that you don’t mind me joining Smile

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 09:56

@roro87my husband just tested me theory that it’s fine entirely by offering me a coffee... definitely not up for a coffee that’s been a major sickness trigger (and I was previously a coffee addict. I stopped cold turkey when this sickness came on) so I guess though I’m feeling so much better it’s not “gone completely”!

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 09:56

Absolutely no harm in singing the benefits of oils though, especially to partners who can rub them on your neck and shoulders ladies 😏

Welcome @Teaandbiscuits123 you must be due around the same time as me I'm due on 19/11
I have my scan on Wednesday so look forward to hearing about yours on Tuesday.
And congratulations 🥳🤰🏼

Teaandbiscuits123 · 03/05/2020 10:24

Thanks @hollyjg Smile Yes I’m due around the same time as you (I’ve had dates from the 16th -21st Nov). I’ll let you know how the scan goes. How are you feeling?

Ayannah · 03/05/2020 10:28

@RunnerGirl123 and @Snowwhite2020 my nausea has almost completely disappeared in the last couple of days (9+4). If it wasn’t for the fact my boobs are still huge and really tender I’d be more worried I think.

I did have a gush of bright red blood in week 8 which completely freaked me out. It was weird - just a one off bleed (as in stained knickers once, sorry TMI) and then nothing. I’ve calmed down a bit about it now and I’m just hoping it wasn’t anything to be concerned about. So much to worry about!

Loving all your stories of food cravings though! My seem to be mainly focused towards crisps. More of a ‘business as usual’ than cravings 😁

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 10:28

All good so far today! Just wish we could skip forward to Wednesday now lol.
My sons having his morning nap so I'm going to lie down for a bit have to make the most of the quiet moments 😉😴

Thanks for all the oil mentions @ChampooPapi going to try some think they will nice after a long soak in the bath 😊🛁

Ayannah · 03/05/2020 10:30

Forgot to say @ChampooPapi, very impressed with your vitamins knowledge and research! I’m taking the Pregnacare horse pills but luckily they don’t seem be causing me any issues - apart from my bank balance 😁

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 10:38

@Ayannah it sounds like a few of us have experienced symptoms going just before 10 weeks so that has really reassured me. Obviously nothing will ever be as reassuring as a heartbeat at a scan but definitely calmed me down! Thank you all.

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 10:45

Waves @Ayannah and @Teaandbiscuits123 Smile

Happy sunday to you all ladies, may you be served by your men and may your children be angels Wink

Hi ladies hope I can join. I’m nearly 11 weeks due around the 26th of November. My nausea is absolutely crippling- I have a feeling of hunger but as soon as I eat I’m straight running to the toilet it’s awful. Is there ANYTHING you ladies can recommend that can ease the sickness. Any advice welcome !

exhaustedandexasperated · 03/05/2020 12:47

Hi!
I too am due early December, 8+1 currently with baby #3.
I'm 34 and have 2 boys ages 2 & 4already.

The sickness is on a whole different level to what I've experienced in the past and has been for the last 3 weeks - didn't even know it started this early as previous pregnancies it didn't start until 7-8 weeks.

Finding being a parent to young children exceptionally difficult whilst also being locked down and sick. Any words of wisdom? Feel like a shitty mum atm.

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 12:54

@exhaustedandexasperated trust me if you are on here looking for advice that's the first sign that you're not a shitty Mum!

It's a really hard time to be both pregnant and a Mum but I am sure you are doing your absolute best - you are allowed to feel shitty and tired times I think we all do.
I feel like I'm to tired to give my son full attention some times - he's 8 months and I'm 11+3 but I think in some way he kinda knows 🥰🤰🏼 💋

MummyShark97 · 03/05/2020 12:58

so funny to come on here and find all the creams etc talk! I was just thinking myself about starting to do something about stretch marks. Have to say though I don't really mind if I do get them - I get a baby at the end of this :)

Teaandbiscuits123 · 03/05/2020 13:29

I think that those of you who are coping with pregnancy, lockdown AND have little ones to look after are extra specially amazing!
This is baby #1 for us so I only have to worry about myself and hubby and it’s hard enough!

peachypetite · 03/05/2020 14:42

I agree I can’t imagine how much worse pregnancy is with little ones to look after already! I think I’ll look into getting some cream then, as you say prevention is better than cure.

kkr168 · 03/05/2020 14:47

My nausea seems to have returned today, feel awful, I've not felt like this in weeks so very annoying that its back! I'm hoping it's just something I ate rather then being here to stay.

We decided to rip out our main bathroom yesterday, we've been wanting to do it for a while, my husbands off work at the moment & extremely bored so it made sense to just get on with it. Not really sure if financially it is a good move as we currently have no income coming in & are living off of savings but sure things will pick up again.

RestorationInsanity · 03/05/2020 15:40

@kkr168 I'm the same. After a good day yesterday today I feel awful. Have been in bed for the past two hours. Feel sick and totally exhausted. Serves me right for worrying this morning that I didn't feel I'll enough!

peachypetite · 03/05/2020 15:47

You poor ladies I was the same yesterday evening after a few good days. Hope it doesn’t return this evening. I’ve just done some hoovering and now feel positively exhausted!

clstewart1 · 03/05/2020 16:18

Hi everyone! I'm due my first child on the 21sth November 2020. I'm excited beyond belief right now. At the moment I'm just struggling with stay healthy.. Cravings are definitely getting the better of me and due to lockdown my exercise is more limited than I'd like. According to the book Fit To Be Pregnant (payhip.com/b/gGWJ recommended to me, and a great read I must admit) As long as I maintain a balance, nutritious diet, I should be fine, but thought I'd ask for any more advice?

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 17:22

@Clstewart1 I wouldn’t worry. If you’re able to do any exercise and you have a range if foods you’re able to tolerate you’re in a better position than those who have suffered crippling sickness (such as me.) I have been in and out the doctor a lot with it and basically been told that if I can keep down pregnancy multivitamins the baby will be fine... good for you though trying to be healthy if you’re able to!

P.s to anyone who saw my post about no nausea this morning- spent the afternoon in bed and feel totally ill again. Lol.

RestorationInsanity · 03/05/2020 18:30

@Snowwhite2020 ditto! It's great isn't it 😂 as long as the little thing is happy in there, I don't really care but trimester two better hurry up!

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 18:38

@RestorationInsanity I know!!

Teaandbiscuits123 · 03/05/2020 18:44

Hi @clstewart1 Smile we have the same due date! (Although that could change at the scan on Tuesday!) and it is also our first.

I wasn’t a regular exerciser before pregnancy (although I clocked up a lot of steps running around school as a primary school teacher!) I’ve mostly been walking every day as I’ve heard that you have to be careful taking on new forms of exercise. I’ve also found some prenatal yoga online - Brett Larkin on YouTube. She has some especially for beginners and I’ve found it really nice and not too strenuous.

I’m sorry to all those who are feeling rotten again today 😕 it really does seem to come and go! I felt quite good this morning, then rubbish and had to lie down but then perked up again a couple of hours ago and managed to bake the first cake of lockdown! I’m drinking litres of fizzy water which seems to help a bit.

Like you said @RestorationInsanity - really just want the little bean to be ok and will totally take the feeling rotten for that!
