Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

Haha yes women must forget how awful it is or nobody would have more than one baby!

firstbabybell · 02/05/2020 20:24

@roro87 sorry to hear you're worried. I understand why but I'm sure everything is fine & it's wind. Get doing some stretches. Gut pain is colicky in nature (as in on & off) as your bowel contracts to squeeze it through. See if you can get some big trumps out!

EithneBlue · 02/05/2020 20:32

@roro87 Maybe it is actually a tummy bug or your gut disagreeing with something you've eaten? Or constipation? That can cause some horrible cramps.

EithneBlue · 02/05/2020 20:33

@peachypetite Just the baby reminding you it's there ;-) Sorry you're feeling so rough :-( early night and hope that tomorrow is better? :-)

roro87 · 02/05/2020 20:37

Thanks everyone. that's exactly what it feels like an ongoing tummy bug not like period pains. I rang my health insurance midwife and she said if I'm getting relief after passing wind or going to the toilet she wouldn't be overly concerned and to keep an eye on it. Hopefully it will pass soon enough

hollyjg · 02/05/2020 21:31

Has anyone else stomach been itchy in the night? I don't know it's the skin stretching or getting ready to stretch?
Any good cream recommendations?
Sorry to hear anyone's feeling rough today.
Remember - 'this too shall pass' 😘🧀😊

EithneBlue · 03/05/2020 07:24

@hollyjg Bio oil is really good for your skin and the bottles are expensive but do last ages. I've never used it (hate the smell) but I've also heard good things about cocoa butter :-)

NatalieH2220 · 03/05/2020 07:33

I had the palmers cocoa butter last time and the smell was amazing and no stretch marks. Got some last week and the smell has gone which was a bit rubbish so I ended up getting Bio Oil as heard good things about it.

ChampooPapi · 03/05/2020 08:23

@hollyjg hi I love this one

www.johnlewis.com/neal's-yard-organic-mother's-massage-oil-100ml/p4191861?sku=238185601&s_ppc=2dx92700051926046830&tmad=c&tmcampid=2&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gclid=Cj0KCQjw17n1BRDEARIsAFDHFewsscAT5EE62uOieCvgrV2mNzdxU7LTjwMAG2tDs-I_5PypjmVoRYoaAle4EALw_wcB

Bio oil does contain a few chemicals if your wanting to avoid those, my dermatologist told me it's not as natural as it claims. But some people say it has worked wonders for scars.

There's also lots of discount codes online for 'all beauty' at the moment and they stock a lot of stretchmark oils and creams

Morning all. I slept loads and not feeling sick but tbh my evenings are usually worse than morning!
Do you think it’s best to use a stretch mark cream as prevention rather than cure @ChampooPapi?

roro87 · 03/05/2020 08:43

@@peachypetite that's great you feel ok. I feel 100 times better this morning get 10 hours sleep and no cramps just a little tender haven't got up yet so not sure if I'm sick or not. I've started using a stretch mark cream as a prevention because I read the more hydrated and flexible your skin is the less you'll mark. However think some people are more prone to them than others.

roro87 · 03/05/2020 08:45

@ChampooPapi thanks for all the suggestions I've been using palmers but will look into your suggestions because that probably won't cut it really

RestorationInsanity · 03/05/2020 08:51

I had a little panic this morning that everything won't be fine at the 12 week scan. I know the odds are overwhelmingly in my favour but I'm so attached to this little thing already.

RestorationInsanity · 03/05/2020 08:53

Re stretch marks, is anyone else considering using the Secret Saviours bump kit or has used in previous pregnancies? It's a band or underwear, plus two different gels/lotions. It sounds good but I'm always sceptical of these things!

peachypetite · 03/05/2020 08:56

Aww I know but we will find out soon and like you say it’s more than likely all will be okay. ❤️ I’ve got a craving for marmite this morning Shock can’t remember the last time I ate it!

RestorationInsanity · 03/05/2020 09:00

@peachypetite that would definitely be a big symptom for me, I can't stand the stuff! Glad you're feeling a bit better this morning. I had a really rough day Thursday and didn't realise how bad until I woke up feeling better on Friday!

roro87 · 03/05/2020 09:21

@Restorationinsanity I have the exact same every week different times but I think it's natural to have that worry what makes it so difficult is that it is completely out of your control. But chance of everything being ok are in our favour

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 09:30

Thanks for all the suggestions
Glad some of you are feeling better today! I woke up with a massive craving for spaghetti so had to make myself spaghetti and tuna at 9am lol!

@RestorationInsanity I know exactly how you feel the attachment is so strong - I'm so torn between so excited for scan on Wed and worried something will be wrong with one of the babies when I go.
Taking each day as it comes 😘
It's a real comfort to know everyone seems to be going through the same things.

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 09:37

Hey everyone, just been reading through the messages. I have had the worst morning (read all day and all night) sickness for the last 2 months. It started very early and has ended me up on medication. My doctor was even talking about how it could be hyperemesis. However, the last 2 days I have been feeling so much less sick and so much more myself. I ate a pizza for dinner the other night and this has honestly been inconceivable for me. I have lost so much weight. I have also slept two nights in a row afternoon not being able to sleep because I’ve been woken up every hour or so with nausea pain. But it feels greatly reduced as if someone has turned a tap. I am 10 weeks tomorrow. Do you think this is a bad sign? I am really worrying.

hollyjg · 03/05/2020 09:45

Hey @Snowwhite2020 sounds like you've had a rough time! I know everyone's experience is different but I had terrible violent morning sickness every day until the middle of my 10th week and then it suddenly stopped completely there was no inbetween!

It did come back a bit after about 4 days but there was no gradual reduction it was like a tap on and off as you said.

Snowwhite2020 · 03/05/2020 09:50

Hi @hollyjg thanks so much for replying. That is reassuring. I suppose I had expected it to go on so bad for a my least another few weeks. I just phoned the midwife who said it can happen like this and stop completely or it can come back again in a few days. Miscarriage is obviously the thing I’m really worried about but she said if I’m not bleeding or cramping it’s not a miscarriage which is not what I’ve read from people’s experiences online... just an anxious mess I suppose until I get to the scan and know everything is ok. I’ve not had any scans or anything before. Hope you’re feeling ok @holljg xx

roro87 · 03/05/2020 09:50

@snowwhite2020 My nausea has eased a good bit too. I was really bad every morning and then last thing before bed and I was 10 weeks yesterday and it seems much better not gone entirely but I can eat a lot more also I used to heave and heave now i just feel it. I was also very worried but seems to happen a lot of people around now.
