Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@kkr168 it sounds like you might have a lot of babysitters to help you out 😊😉

roro87 · 02/05/2020 14:38

I asked for chicken breasts the other day and he brought home a full heavy chicken. Roast dinner tomorrow Grin After my terrible night cramps have finally seemed to ease and I think I found the cause the mints I was sucking through all my work calls yesterday. so I dragged myself out for a walk. going to share a totally off topic pic

@roro87 ha! Yes this is how the male mind works, or at least the male mind who doesn't cook all that often. A whole chicken is not a substitution for chicken breasts is it! It's a completely different meal and preparation. Dam him. But it'll be somewhat worth it when the roast has materialised. Maybe this was his plan all along 😉

Arhh, your picture has inspired me.off the sofa to join my family outside in the garden 🌄🌅

@ChampooPapi @hollyjg yes it will be a breeze hopefully!! I had a singleton baby first but a first baby is always anxiety inducing, this one will be number 4 so will just have to fit in 😁

EithneBlue · 02/05/2020 16:36

@firstbabybell I've got some alcohol free beer so on Zoom calls I appear to be drinking Grin - I miss having a drink, though - I'm taking the occasional cheeky sip from my husband's glass and pretending it's mine! I must have been about 17 last time I went this long without a drink... although I did recently realise that the Pimm's jam I really like is actually slightly alcoholic: whoops!

firstbabybell · 02/05/2020 16:44

@eithneblue - oh my god same! I had a sip of his ale the other day & it was DELICIOUS! I thought you were supposed to go off it altogether!

I have Heineken alcohol free I've got is quite nice - it's not the same though is it?! 😂

I have to say though that not drinking because you're preggers is SOOOO much easier than when you're prepping for IVF. This feels like a doddle in comparison.

hollyjg · 02/05/2020 18:44

@EithneBlue @firstbabybell I am definitely craving a cheeky glass (or 2) of wine/Prosecco especially after looking after an 8 month old all day.
I have to say I am enjoying not being hungover in the morning though 🥳

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:04

@hollyjg preach sister 🙏 I too am very much enjoying not having any kind of wine head currently

I’m feeling nauseous again after a few days off :(

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:06

@peachypetite it really sucks doesn't it, sorry your feeling it again, we can get through this together 🤗

RunnerGirl123 · 02/05/2020 19:12

Hi ladies, I'm just over 9 weeks and my nausea has really died down. My boobs aren't quite feeling as sore but I'm still bloating and getting some heartburn here and there... I'm just starting to worry this isn't a good sign. I felt so bad Mon - Weds last week, but then that faded off and now I just can't shake the feeling something might have gone wrong. Has anyone else had their symptoms fade at 9 weeks?

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:16

@RunnerGirl123 oh definitely, I had exactly the same last week for a few days, it's perfectly normal. Monitor it over the next few days, my general feeling of rubbishness and neseua did return after a day or two. But I've def had much better days then others over the last few weeks.

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:18

Often followed by feeling absolutely awful the next day! Your hormones are still increasing so I would imagine it'll be back, some women do loose symptoms around this time and feel better for the rest of the pregnancy though so you may be one of those 🤞

OP posts:
RunnerGirl123 · 02/05/2020 19:21

@ChampooPapi thanks, that makes me feel a bit better. I'm half hoping the symptoms come back, just so I feel like it's all going to plan. I think I'll feel a bit better when my scan date comes through, give me something to work towards!

roro87 · 02/05/2020 19:36

I'm still getting cramps and quite sore this evening. starting to worry now as it's on and off all day.

EithneBlue · 02/05/2020 19:43

@roro87 - if it hasn't eased by tomorrow maybe give the midwife a call to put your mind at rest? That said trapped wind and/or stretching pain is normal.

@RunnerGirl123 I have sometimes like 3 days in a row when I feel pretty good. Every time just as I've started to worry I've been hit by some miscellaneous retching, nausea or my boobs feeling like they're going to explode. Symptoms are very fickle.

@firstbabybell - you are right that this not drinking is easier to be fair: I did dry January and was practically clawing at the wine bottles by the 25th!

peachypetite · 02/05/2020 19:46

Blargh it’s horrible. I’ve barely eaten today whereas yesterday I ate three proper meals and didn’t even feel pregnant.

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:47

@RunnerGirl123 the waiting is water torture essentially! The next week or two is going to creep by so definitely try to not Google anything bad and stay as distracted as possible

@roro87 I think it could be a good call to phone your midwife actually, cramps are absolutely the norm, but on and off all day will be worrying you beyond, I know it will.

Please ring them, they are there 24/7 and you can always leave a message. Don't wait until Monday morning, you are aloud to phone them about these things whenever you need at this stage

RestorationInsanity · 02/05/2020 19:47

@RunnerGirl123 I've had the same the last couple of days. Thursday felt so rough, but yesterday and today not so bad. Some of it is I think I've just got used to not being so productive, going to bed earlier etc, so some of the feelings aren't quite so overwhelming as I'm not trying to carry on as normal. But also, most of my symptoms have been fairly mild, so when they ease off its more obvious, whereas maybe if you have really really strong symptoms, I'd they ease of a bit, some people don't notice the change? I'm working on the "no severe pain, no bleeding, all is likely to be well" (or at least I'm trying to!)

RestorationInsanity · 02/05/2020 19:49

@peachypetite sorry to hear you're feeling so rough. When you have a few better days I think when you get a new batch it hits you just how bad you were feeling! Hoping for a better day for you tomorrow.

@roro87 I'm sorry you're feeling concerned, definitely better to call and put your mind at rest.

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:49

@EithneBlue ditto, I did dry Jan and Feb! though made up for 'lost time' in March where I practically pickled myself in wine, and when I inevitably conceived 🙄😂

peachypetite · 02/05/2020 19:51

Thank you. I’ll head to bed soon - at least asleep you don’t feel like shit. Really hoping for a big improvement at 12 weeks; honestly so fed up of feeling like this.

roro87 · 02/05/2020 19:53

unfortunately I'm in Ireland so I don't have any midwife or contact number A&E is probably my only option until Tuesday. The hospital near me is really bad with corona so really a dilemma. I have no bleeding and its definitely not stretching pains I've had them. best way I can describe it is like when you have a tummy bug and your stomach cramps until you go then stops for awhile and builds again.

NatalieH2220 · 02/05/2020 19:53

@roro87 I agree it's worth a call to the midwife just to get their opinion. That's what they're there for. Hope all is okay and you feel better soon.

My nausea is still very on and off. Felt good this morning so treated myself to a bacon sandwich at lunch, managed half then I felt so sick I had to stop! Opted for a nap instead.

Is it week 12 when the placenta takes over or have I made that up?

ChampooPapi · 02/05/2020 19:55

@peachypetite it's the pits. You do forget it though after a few months post birth, hence why I keep doing it. But yes. It's pretty much the shitist you will ever feel, I'd rather do labour then go through the 1st trimester rotteness 100 percent
