Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

@ChampooPapi oh I didn't realise - more than happy to be in the bloat club. Interested to see how my belly does grow differently this pregnancy with twins - if differently at all??

Had a very scary vivid dream I miscarried last night and no nausea this morning.
6 days and counting till my 12 week scan can't come quick enough.

firstbabybell · 30/04/2020 09:54

@hollyjg don't panic, I'm sure it's fine. Horrible none the less.

@roro87 I am in stitches reading your post! 😂

My phone doesn't seem to let me tag people when I post - anyone else found that? Having to try & remember people's @ - & with the hormone riddled short term memory of a goldfish this is not easy.

MrsERWor · 30/04/2020 10:12

Thanks everyone! And thank you @ChampooPapi - I did think as much, but it's one a hell of a bloat! Never seen anything like it on myself in my life!

I have no idea if it could be twins yet, as I've not had a scan. Probably not, but this baby is clearly making me expand in one way or another haha. Will keep you updated on my scan on a couple of weeks. Hopefully all is well.

Congrats to all you other ladies too!

ChampooPapi · 30/04/2020 10:47

@hollyjg oh God those dreams are so horrible, they just seem so real. It leaves an imprint all the next day, you just feel un settled by it don't you. You can tell I've had the same, it's just endless worry isn't it? This time is the slowest in human history.

I'm pretty sure we will double in size done the line to our previous pregnancies. Definitely don't Google it, I don't know what I thought I'd see but it was pretty much bumps that were double the size of normal ones, go figure 🤦.

@MrsERWor yes the expanding and bloat is immediate post peeing on stick for some, like jeans haven't been comfortable since week 5 for a lot of us I think. My stomach muscles are not at their best as well so they have given up very fast this time to the relaxation of that whole area. I was in much better shape a year ago but I had completely stopped training pre baby this time so I am going to be such a whale in a few months!

I'm pretty sure there is an actual chemical called relaxin that is released when your pregnant, which makes you more susceptible to the whole pregnancy expansion within your muscles ect.

@roro87 oh God! This week is just not the one is it! You are soldiering on and we are nearing Friday and the end of April (which we will now refer to as 'the devil's month'). I hope you are being catered for and can just do as little as possible today, this is really the time our men should and can be stepping up. It is the hardest trimester, it really is, they should basically be doing everything within reason!

Hello everyone, may I join your lovely friendly club? I'm 9+1 today with an IVF pregnancy so I'm lucky enough to have had an early scan. It was such a relief to see a heartbeat. I cried - the first time through the whole process of failed cycles and all the usual ups and downs of baby manufacturing!

So pleased to see I'm not alone with the nausea and bloating Smile. My boobs grew by several cup sizes in the first two weeks - I've only got two bras that fit now, lovely non-wired soft ones. Actually even they don't really fit, but they're a lot less uncomfortable than the others!

My 12 week scan is 19th May like a few of you. And I have a Harmony test booked for 16th May, so that'll be another week of even more worrying!

roro87 · 30/04/2020 11:44

@ChampooPapi Thanks my boyfriend works two hours away so spends four hours travelling si most of the time it is just me and doggo and I hate making a fuss because he is gone at 5am and back at 7PM we were meant to be moving when coronavirus hit. I'm wfh in bed also so I'm not too bad now the morning is the worst for me. We've only a few weeks left of feeling sick I hope.

@ayannah Congratulations my scan is the same date. we all seem to be around then

hollyjg · 30/04/2020 12:23

Congratulations @Ayannah 🥰🥳

@roro87 my boyfriend went back to work for the first time today - he's also out from 5-7 so I know how you feel. My son is keeping me entertained as is your dog by the sound of it ☺️

We were meant to be moving as well and I'm starting to worry about moving in this climate as I want to be settled in our new house a couple of months before the babies come.

@ChampooPapi it's been on my mind non stop - trying to keep busy. It staying well away from google as well after reading a lot of scary statistics! Very silly of me lol.

Wishing you all a lovely day - 1 day down to our scans 😘😘

MummyShark97 · 30/04/2020 12:32

feel the pain of others on their own in the week, my oh is an engineer and been working non-stop as his company is making ventilators. We're both struggling along really, wish I could have him around a bit more to help out!

ChampooPapi · 30/04/2020 12:38

@Ayannah welcome and congratulations 🙌🌈👣

@hollyjg it is so so difficult not to focus on the worry of things going wrong. I am obsessed so I just try and keep my mind occupied on a anything else, and I too have stopped googling every twinge or symptoms because with twins there is even more negative stuff out there online about it going amiss. You just get your head around two babies then you start worrying that one won't make it, it is pretty much constant anxiety at this stage though for everyone and we just have to plug on, day by day until the next scans.

I've decided only to let myself worry when I go to the loo..I will allow myself a brief moment of worry when wiping, then when I leave the bathroom I am forcing myself to compartmentalize it. Back in the box until the next visit.

We we get through this time and it'll be a distant memory soon. But my god it's a slog ♀️💪

@roro87 @MummyShark97 and @hollyjg

ladies that is not easy. I have so much respect for you all, and any women, going through such a long day away from their partners, especially in current circumstances. You guys are doing so amazingly!

OP posts:
hollyjg · 30/04/2020 12:49

Thank you for that message @ChampooPapi I needed that reassurance it's not just me who is worried! The thought of one not making it terrifies me and the thought of having two babies is also pretty scary!

I like you loo idea and will try to implement it ☺️☺️

Would you say there is any specific supplements I should be taking other then the usual I don't see the twin midwife till next week to ask her.
It's a hard slog but threads like this definitely make it easier thank you to all you strong women 💪🤰🏼💪🤰🏼

EithneBlue · 30/04/2020 12:50

I just weighed myself and in spite of the bloating making me feel huge, I have actually lost a little weight: although I'm a little bugged that I might be losing muscle because I am absolutely not exercising enough at the moment (normally I jog regularly, weight train and climb - and am on my feet a lot of the day at school) - since lockdown I've basically been walking once a day and not doing much else. I don't suppose anyone has any good pregnancy-friendly workout videos they could recommend?

Also here is an interesting 'food aversion' experience: I am not off the taste of anything, but I just made myself a decaf coffee, sipped it, enjoyed the taste, then retched. Waited 5 minutes. Tried the coffee again. Same thing.
I love coffee: this is not OK.

EithneBlue · 30/04/2020 12:52

@hollyjg - the worry is so normal :-) I did say to my husband a few weeks ago that I was also worried that I'm now destined to worry about my child for the rest of my adult life.
He laughed at me ;-)

peachypetite · 30/04/2020 13:16

Is anyone else very headache-y at the moment :(

RestorationInsanity · 30/04/2020 13:18

@eithneblue I'm the same. Lost a couple of pounds so far, but normally am running, doing HIIT, yoga etc. Since I found out two weeks ago I've done one HIIT workout (modified), 1 slow run, and one yoga class! Part of me wants to I just don't have the motivation or energy. Plus when I jogged, it makes me feel like I need to wee as I think at this point your uterus is pressing in your bladder before it moves out of your pelvis and gives a few month reprieve!

RestorationInsanity · 30/04/2020 13:19

My food aversion is I can't stand thinking or talking about eating! I'll suddenly get the urge to eat something specific, or if something is cooked, I can eat it, but talk of food makes me feel queasy!

AmyC2020 · 30/04/2020 13:55

I went off cups of tea early on 😢 and I love a good brew but now the taste just isn't right. I keep trying to have one but never finish it or even get half way really!
Converted to lemon and ginger tea to help with throughout the day sickness!

roro87 · 30/04/2020 14:06

@hollyjg I worry constantly I also try to distract myself but sometimes I can't help it.

@MummyShark97 snap that is exactly what my boyfriend does too. I understand why he has to be gone and that it is so important just gets lonely at times.

MummyShark97 · 30/04/2020 14:13

@roro87 so lonely and also such a struggle managing to get dinner ready between us (not that I fancy much at the moment!). I've got tomorrow booked off work and looking forward to napping pretty much all day haha

roro87 · 30/04/2020 14:17

oh lucky you I'm so jealous my next day off is my scan day and doubt I'll be relaxed enough to nap then. I find it impossible to keep up with the house work and making food the slightest thing is exhausting right now and the smell in the kitchen gets to me too

EithneBlue · 30/04/2020 14:28

@RestorationInsanity I ran a half marathon the same weekend I found out I was pregnant (super early so like 3+4 or something) -- got my slowest ever time and genuinely thought I was dying for the last 6 miles.

RestorationInsanity · 30/04/2020 16:23

Wow, very impressive in any case!

I'm hoping trimester two is more forgiving from am activity point of view!

Sorry to all of you whose partners have to be away for one reason or another. I'm very lucky as DH travels for work a lot, but all meetings etc now being held remotely, so we're both WFH everyday. Otherwise I would have spent several stretches of this pregnancy alone! And a massive about out to all those expecting twins, must be amazing and scary all at the same time!

New first trimester low, had an emergency post lunch nap. woke up and asked DH for a glass of water. He handed it to me, I promptly fell asleep again and only woke up when I poured it all over myself and the bed, and promptly burst into tears. Not my finest moment! I'm blaming the stress of our massive house renovation but I know it's really hormones!

roro87 · 30/04/2020 16:46

@RestorationInsanity that really cheered me up I cry at the drop of a hat at the minute. the other day I cried because I hit myself in my sleep, I've also cried because I needed the bathroom again and because I finished my milk and went to drink some more are realised. I'm not a crier generally.

hollyjg · 30/04/2020 16:52

Hormones hey! @RestorationInsanity @roro87 I have cried at literally every TV program I've watched the last two weeks! Is anyone else terrible snappy as well. My poor boyfriend I'm just totally on the defence at the moment when he is really trying his best ❤️
I think I'm taking the worry all out on him but I think he understands bless him.
