Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

Hi all,

I've been reading for a while but thought it's probably time to post!
I'm 9+2, had a private scan a couple of days ago and was really reassured to see a heartbeat. There was a mix up when I originally registered with the midwives meaning I got a phone call and scan appt almost immediately (they thought I was almost 5 months!) but that's all sorted now and the upside is I got everything booked in early - my 12 week scan is 19th May now too.
I'm also a teacher and finding it really boring not being at school, definitely fed up of the lockdown.
I've found it so reassuring reading this thread and ticking of similar symptoms, I also had a terrible nights sleep last night, mainly due to bloating with a bit of sickness thrown in for good measure.

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better this afternoon!

RestorationInsanity · 29/04/2020 16:01

Excellent news @MummyShark97! Howany weeks will you be then?

Glad you are feeling a bit better today @peachypetite! Take it whenever you can!

ChampooPapi · 29/04/2020 16:21

@MummyShark97 that's great news, so that's basically the week of most people's scans! The week starting the 16th of May. God that week is going to be tense on here 😬

@LJF234 welcome and congratulations 🙌. So nice to get a scan at 9 weeks and only a few weeks now to wait untill the 12 week one. These days are really dragging a bit now though went they?

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 29/04/2020 16:25

*arnt they

OP posts:
LJF234 · 29/04/2020 16:30

They sure are!
I felt a bit silly booking an early scan but felt I needed the reassurance, it didnt feel real until then.

firstbabybell · 29/04/2020 16:52

Every minute feels like an hour at the mo!

We also had an early scan at 8+3 which was very emotional. I was sobbing like you wouldn't believe so the image kept moving!

I also feel like they've just forgotten about us all in the community. Are you normally just left to get on with it apart from a phone call until your 12 week scan? I don't know what I was expecting though?!

peachypetite · 29/04/2020 17:03

@firstbabybell know what you mean. I’ve been told my 16 week and 25 week appt will be via the phone so really very minimal face to face contact :(

hollyjg · 29/04/2020 17:54

I've just had my bloods done! Glad that's done. Just counting down the days to the next scan - as we all seem to be doing!

The midwife who took my bloods has twins as well so was able to give me some good advice.. I have appointment with my midwife team booked for next week but she let me know if it's twins I should be seeing a totally different team!

I'm worried about where my maternity notes are as they didn't have them at the bloods and we might be moving to Liverpool soon so need to them to transfer up to the hospital there.
Wishing everyone a lovely evening 😘

MummyShark97 · 29/04/2020 18:11

@ChampooPapi thanks! yes I was thinking how it will be nice once we've all got through the scan with peace of mind :)

@RestorationInsanity thanks :) I'll be 12+3 so not a massive wait. I know it will drag now of course but I do have time off work next week so hoping that will go by a bit faster.

RestorationInsanity · 29/04/2020 18:24

It does feel really isolating. I'm so used to the coddling of the fertility treatment system and now it's just "oh you're pregnant, good luck, someone might send you an appointment at some point"

MrsERWor · 29/04/2020 18:40

Going to hop on this thread ladies! It's so comforting to see I'm not alone, especially regarding symptoms that come and go.

Since the get go, up until a week or so ago, I have had exhaustion, nausea and sore boobs as a minimum throughout the day. Recently, they're here one day, and unnoticeable the next. On the off days, it does make you worry somethings not right! But it's sounds like it's all normal and I should just enjoy my time without it!
I am 10+2 so perhaps they're just starting to taper off a little? Fingers crossed.

This is my first, so I have nothing to compare it to. My scan is 2 weeks away today, and it still feels a lifetime away! I can't wait for it, just to have my mind put at rest.

I wondered, for any first timers, how is your tummy looking? Because I seem to have quite a prominent hard bump at only 10+2. I don't mind sharing, so I've included a pic. I just feel it's perhaps unusual to be showing so much, so early? Part bloat, part bump maybe? But it's been like this for a while now.

hollyjg · 29/04/2020 19:13

Welcome @MrsERWor and congratulations 🥳🤰🏼

I definitely have quite a bump - I'm 10+6 with twins. I did read that then end of the 10th week start of the 11th is when quite a few women start to show.

How's everyone feeling this evening? 🥰
I've managed to have a light dinner and the nausea is definetely sup-siding the closer I get to 12 weeks.

firstbabybell · 29/04/2020 19:28

Congratulations!

I don't have anything resembling a bump yet (9+5) just a bid fat tummy as I've been eating so much! 😂

I have been super bloated though as am on oestrogen tablets + progesterone pessaries (highest dose) + progesterone injections as we frozen embryo transfer.

Progesterone is my least favourite hormone too - my breast are like big painful watermelons! 😩 None of my bras fit already - I've been putting off buying an m&s sports bra in a bigger size to try & control them but the time may have come.... 😂😂😂

Sorry for the overshare!!!

NatalieH2220 · 29/04/2020 19:31

Congratulations @MrsERWor That's a lovely bump! Everyone is different and shows at different times. Have you had a private scan? Could it be there's 2 in there? Wink

roro87 · 29/04/2020 20:16

@mrsERwor I'm a few days behind you and look about 5 months but think a lot of mine is bloat along with fat Grin although I do def notice it now in jeans etc. Congratulations

ChampooPapi · 30/04/2020 07:58

@MrsERWor welcome and Congratulations 👣🙌

I keep thinking I look about 6 months gone after food then I lay down on my back and it basically dissapears. At this stage it's definitely bloat I'm afraid, the babies are only teeny tiny, I know surrounding areas expand but I'm pretty sure until your another month along or so it's just water retention 😆🤦

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 30/04/2020 08:02

And I'm ten weeks with twins on my 4th pregnancy so I like to believe it's my little bump, it certainly looks like one of I posted a picture! But as a old hand at this I know from further along that this bump is very different from when your uterus is expanding. It's just a load of concentrated belly bloat at this point

OP posts:
peachypetite · 30/04/2020 08:12

I would say just bloat at this stage! I look completely normal still and don’t think I’ve put weight on because I wore my normal jeans when I went to the hospital and they felt the same. I’ve had one evening of bad bloating after dinner and I looked pregnant but it went back down after a few hours.

ChampooPapi · 30/04/2020 08:13

@hollyjg sorry but even with twins your uterus doesn't start to move above your pubic bone until 12 weeks at the earliest so your much more likely to be joining the bloat club!

OP posts:
RestorationInsanity · 30/04/2020 08:43

I keep sticking my stomach out here to see what it will be like Blush

@peachypetite same as you I had one very bad evening if bloating where I thought "if it stays like this I won't fit into my clothes tomorrow" but it was all gone in the morning.

EithneBlue · 30/04/2020 08:44

Haha I get so bloated! I pointed out to my husband that in a few months it'll be baby instead of pasta... he actually looked a little horrified LOL.

roro87 · 30/04/2020 09:11

I still weigh the same but my clothes are tight but I have a short body so when I'm bloated it looks really big. Was super sick this morning after being worried the other day. Sickest I've been and in the middle of getting sick the dog decide to stick her head in the toilet FML. Hope everyone else is doing well today

MummyShark97 · 30/04/2020 09:20

I've had a good few days with very little nausea but it's back today and I'm honestly wfh from bed!

Anyone else finding it hard to concentrate? I've found mental tiredness just as bad as being so physically tired.

meplusfive · 30/04/2020 09:30

Gosh that was a lot of catching up to do 😅

Re the bloat, it's brutal for me! I look gigantic but it feels like bloat and is so uncomfortable. Hoping it goes down soon when hormones start to settle.

Had my phone call booking in, the midwife was lovely but due to a blood clotting disorder that runs in my family I am now under consultant care until they have tested me further and found I am low risk. If it's too high I'll need daily injections 😭

Seeing the midwife next week for bloods etc and she'll give me my 12w scan date then but I've also managed to book a private one the week before that my partner can attend.

Sounds like around the 18th May is going to be tense for us all! I'm 9w4d today and had the most crazy vivid dream last night.
