Hi ladies,

Finally getting a few lucid moments from the crippling neseua so wanted to start a thread for anyone due around this time.

There are a fair few threads knocking around for around the same months so this one is more for women who prefer not to do the whole Facebook thing or join what app groups. Well not quite yet anyway.

Of course anyone is welcome and if joiners decide to link up in those other ways at whatever point then I for one will definitely support it. It's so good to have support across whatever platforms we use as women, we need either other

💪 To the sisterhood

Anyway. My stats are-

Age 33 this past April
We have two children already both girls age 2 and 10
My Partner/fiancee is also 33 and we've been together 11 years,

We were supposed to be having a civil partnership (yes he is a man) last month but it was cancelled due to covid so it's now next year.

Expecting non identical twins the end of November, but good chance I'll get cut open or induced before then.

See how far we get!

I'm 8 weeks and 2

I had a missed miscarriage at my 12 week scan back in October so this pregnancy took me 5 months on from then to conceive.

Enough about me, how is everyone feeling?

The first trimester sucks so hard doesn't it!

Yay @ChampooPapi, In Ireland they just send you one by post. I had the postman annoyed asking if he had anything. Yours it 3 days before mine.

ChampooPapi · 27/04/2020 14:10

@RestorationInsanity it's a good feeling, I'm hoping it'll get me through this week until next week's nipt test. I need to seriously chill with the worry about these babies, I have zero control of the outcome and I need to just enjoy this time in-between the bouts of sickness and just let go!

@roro87 mine will supposedly arrive in the post before that date in information on, but with my last scan it came the day after the scan!

Also update on twin times, I've been told actually your first consultant appointment is straight after your 20 week scan and actually not after the 12 week one. I think my midwife might be a bit new to things, but she was so nice over the phone. I imagine I may never actually meet her though, it's not unheard of 😏

OMG so after waiting 40 minutes in the waiting room for my blood test appointment on Wednesday and having it done in a rush-set-up hall room because they lost the appointment I just had a phone call... they filled out the blood vials wrong so they can't actually test them. I have to go back tomorrow and have them done again.
I hate needles and I hate blood tests. I literally cried.

MummyShark97 · 27/04/2020 14:32

thanks so much for all the help ladies!

I'm so sorry to hear about the blood test, I absolutely hate them too.

I had a right waste of time with my booking apt last week as I have just moved out of the trust area which I did of course explain when booking the appointment but was told I could still do the booking in with my current GP and sort a new one after. Got there and the midwife said as it's a different trust at the hospital where you'll give birth it's better you do it with their community midwife so now having to sort a new GP and a new booking appt. 9+3 now so feeling a bit fed up!

On the bright side she did do the Hospital referral for the scan so that should come through soon!

Over it now but it upset me quite a bit that I'd gone out in these circumstances for a face to face appointment to then be told all that!

EithneBlue · 27/04/2020 14:33

@ChampooPapi Ah there are a couple of us around that weekend! How exciting!! I wish time would go a little faster though - I'm literally counting the days!

Beccarans89 · 27/04/2020 14:39

@ChampooPapi that's great news! Mine is the 18th so a couple of days later! Such a relief to have a date to work towards isn't it!

peachypetite · 27/04/2020 15:18

@EithneBlue after my experience at the weekend I know exactly how you feel you poor thing.
I’ve still not had my scan letter but the midwife who did my booking appt confirmed it by phone. Quite a few of us within a couple of days of each other, I am also counting down the days until the scan where I hope to breathe a big sigh of relief and start feeling more excited.

EithneBlue · 27/04/2020 15:31

@peachypetite - I was so annoyed: honestly I get that things are a little bit tight right now but don't mis-label people's blood! I'm going to check their labels myself tomorrow ;-)
Yeah I'm trying not to let myself think too far ahead until that 12 week scan... she says, browsing online sales for maternity clothes and baby things Blush

MummyShark97 · 27/04/2020 15:41

@eithneblue Me too, mentally decorating a nursery honestly!

peachypetite · 27/04/2020 15:56

Blush so glad it’s not just me. I’m thinking we’re going to wait to find out the sex at the birth so started looking at cute neutral baby clothes

EithneBlue · 27/04/2020 16:40

I am definitely in the camp of not wanting to know the sex. My husband was less sure but I think I was so adamant (it's like the ultimate spoiler, right?) I might have scared him off mentioning it again Blush

kkr168 · 27/04/2020 16:52

We didn't find out the sex of our 1st child but will be with this one. I'm really hoping for a girl!! We have a son & my husband has another 2 son's from a previous relationship. The stepsons mum went on to have another 2 boys, so they really want a sister. I've convinced myself it's a boy though!!

peachypetite · 27/04/2020 16:55

@EithneBlue my husband wants to wait! You know what though since finding out I haven’t even thought about the sex I just want it to be healthy.

Icantthinkofanickname123456 · 27/04/2020 17:33

Hey congratulations to everyone on this post!

I am due 30th November with baby number 1. I am 31 and my partner is 33.

I had my copper coil removed back in mid Feb and found out I was pregnant just over a month later!

I had my booking appointment over the phone last week, looking forward to my 12 week scan now!

Morning sickness seems to be subsiding little by little since the weekend which is such a relief (although totally not completely out of the woods yet). I just cant believe how thirsty and tired I am all the time!

Hope everyone is doing well!

MummyShark97 · 27/04/2020 17:45

@icantthinkofanickname123456 congratulations and welcome!

roro87 · 27/04/2020 17:54

I'm on the countdown too so exciting we are all around the same time. I'm undecided about knowing the sex, well more so I want to but my partner doesn't. If I find out I will definitely let it slip to him. Reason I want to know if well being nosy and also his sister has two boys and has kept everything so if it's a boy I need to get a lot less.

hollyjg · 27/04/2020 18:15

Congratulations @Icantthinkofanickname123456

I've got my bloods on Wednesday and scan the following Wednesday looking forward to it so much! I think the boredom of quarantine is making me count down the days even more!
We are going to find out the sex as it twins so think it will be easier to know ahead of time! Already have a little boy so excited to find out if one or both of them is a little girl 🥰

lionsmum · 27/04/2020 18:24

Welcome to those who are newSmile

I think we will be finding out the sex this time round, to help us bond with baby early on (I don't think you need to know the sex in order to bond though don't get me wrong). With my son we kept it as a surprise but I had such a strong feeling all the way through it was going to be a boy, although as we found out he wasn't well at around 33 weeks we ended up finding out the sex a few days before he was delivered at 35 weeks as we were having daily scans and we wanted to know to give us some happy news amongst all the chaos.

How is everyone doing? Have the crazy vivid dreams started for anyone else? They were mad last time round and I think they are going to be equally as mad this time😅

hollyjg · 27/04/2020 19:17

@lionsmum omg yes crazy vivid dreams! I also feel like as my little boy wakes a lot
In the night I'm always more half asleep and that's when the dreams are the craziest. 😴🤰🏼

ChampooPapi · 27/04/2020 19:19

@lionsmum oh the dreams are incredible. Last night I was 18 again, it was so vivid and so magical. A night out with friends at a kind of midsummer party, so twinkly and beautiful. And I was so young....sigh

Congratulations to those who have recently joined.

I'd like a surprise this time (we found out with my son), my husband is keen to find out though so I expect we will. I've lots of boy clothes from before so that would be a big help but would also be nice to have a girl. I think that's why I want to wait as I really don't mind this time around.

peachypetite · 27/04/2020 20:22

So sick of not being able to eat dinner. I’ve just had a banana for dinner cannot stomach food. I end up going to bed early because at least when I’m asleep I don’t feel nauseous.

EithneBlue · 27/04/2020 21:18

@peachypetite That's rubbish :-( If it makes you feel any better (or at least will make you laugh) earlier today I ate 4 oranges (no idea why) and then ended up immediately retching over the kitchen sink.
Can you eat early in the day? Maybe go for full breakfasts and forget about dinner for now?

Jfetzer1 · 28/04/2020 01:41

Hello, all!
I am 8 weeks as well, due November 7th. My first child, with hopes, had a MMC last year, and difficulties now. So fingers are crossed i will be journeying along with you ladies!

peachypetite · 28/04/2020 06:09

@EithneBlue yep I’m able to eat more around lunch, still eating mainly plain things eg jacket potato with cheese or egg on toast but it’s something. The evenings are horrible because I usually get a headache and feel sick. Keep waking up with the most hideous dry mouth. I’m so hoping for an improvement in trimester 2! The oranges, maybe too much in one go?!
