Ohhhh @Jonesbabynumber1 congratulations she's absolutely beautiful! Full head of hair to!

How exciting, make sure you stay rested and keep up with your pain killers

ceebee21 · 15/01/2021 16:14

Ah @jonesbabynumber1 congratulations, so beautiful.

Motherhood is going well, although she has at least a moderate hearing loss in her left ear Sad. It hit me hard not going to lie, but have to realise how lucky we are to have her at all and just embrace it!

She is very good, sleep isnt too bad and she is sleeping well.

It's just rubbish not being able to see anyone xx

Jonesbabynumber1 · 15/01/2021 19:00

Aww girls it’s just simply amazing I can’t believe we all have our little ones now and the real journey starts now. @BabyB19 yes I’m trying to be careful and for me as shit as lockdown is probably good as I have no where to go otherwise I may be tempted to be out and about all ready. @ceebee21 how did you find this out about little ones hearing, Adalyn had her heading test in hospital and they said couldn’t pick yo anything in one of ears they said if could be as it was loud or because she moved. @MrsCl19 yes full head of hair and she loves having it brushed already. Anyone combi feeding I tried breast feeding wow woman need a medal who mange to keep it up. I am learning to try and work out what’s best for us with feeding she sleeps a lot and midwife said to wake every 3 hours but she’s not hungry so doesn’t feed so trying to relax a bit and enjoy it all xx

MrsCl19 · 15/01/2021 19:13

@Jonesbabynumber1 sorry I've only formula fed, if she's not feeding great try tickling her feet or changing her just before so she's been expose to cool air wakes them up a little bit. I would have liked to combo feed but bf wasn't for me, a couple of my close friends did it and it looked so demanding I know I wouldn't have coped so I agree woman who do need a medal!

Jonesbabynumber1 · 16/01/2021 09:06

@MrsCl19 I’m expressing what I can instead now it was trying to get her to latch and not knowing how much she was having that unsettled me. Yes I agree the way I see it is that’s is so much more important for you to enjoy having your little one and having that bond rather than stressing about BF.

ceebee21 · 16/01/2021 12:48

@jonesbabynumber1 she failed that one in one ear, but a lot do and then pass on the follow up one so try not to worry. For us, she then didnt pass tbe follow up and also failed the next one at the audiologist! X

BabyB19 · 18/01/2021 09:41

Sorry to hear about babies hearing issues @ceebee21 I hope it's nothing that will affect her going forward.
@Jonesbabynumber1 I was determined to breast feed but Blake was too tiny and shocked from the birth she wouldn't latch and my body went into shock after the trauma of surgery and my milk dried up! I had loads before she was born I was devastated, they said it can happen sometimes when your birth has been traumatic. So she is bottle fed but tbh once I seen how gruelling the constant feeds were I was glad OH could take half the load xx

Hi all how are you. We’ve been settling into family life. It’s busy but trying to enjoy every moment of her being so little as I bet this moment passes so quickly. I’ve had a UTI so on antibiotics but apart from that recovering well from c section. She had midwife appointment today was due to be discharged but was a little under so midwife coming back Saturday.

He is! He's very long! filling 6-9 months already 🥺

BabyB19 · 18/02/2021 21:22

She is still well in 3-6 hahah, do you know what he weighs now? She was 13lbs a couple of weeks ago when I last did her. Yes she has been scoffing from 4 months, she has never been too great with her milk, always had less than they recommend so I got her on it ASAP, she absolutely loves it, she wolfs her porridge every morning and she has all the different fruit and veg pouches (I get the aldi ones as so much cheaper than ellas kitchen etc) she loves baby rice, rusks and has started having a little nibble on our foods too 💖 she will be catching up to Aldi in no time! @MrsCl19 🤣

Hi everyone omg wow they’ve both grown so much already. We are doing well adapting to having a newborn. Adalyn 6 weeks today. People are right when they say the worry never ends. @BabyB19 sounds like you went through similar with Blake as we are now with Adalyn she’s not great with her milk she varies from 1-4oz but mainly it’s 2oz every 2-4 hours. It took her a little longe to get back to her birth weight and is low on the charts I think 2nd percentile. I can see us weaning early. We have health visitor Thursday so hopefully we are on right tracks. Yes a newborn group be fab I wonder if what’s app or Facebook be better I always forget to check mums net and definitely want to keep on the mummy journey with you all. When did you all get your periods after having baby. I also had sex the first time after c section other and was a little surprised at how uncomfortable it was it was like losing my virginity all over again 😂🙈 we also had first smiles the other day it’s amazing seeing her little personality developing 💖

Aww @Jonesbabynumber1 she's lovely. I was thinking about a whatsapp group too but don't know how to safely share numbers. I'm always worrying about how much to post on here.
That's exactly what Blake was like, she had 2oz for aaaages, she didn't go up to 4oz for months. I was so worried but got some baby scales and weighed her every week at home and she consistently put on just with demand feeding so try not to worry, I became obsessed I had reams and reams of notes on my phone like
6am 2oz was sick
9am 3oz wasn't sick
Etc etc I was demented, and literally the day I deleted all the notes and stopped counting she doubled what she was taking, I'm sure she could sense it on me!! I tried every different bottle and every different milk and turned out she just wasn't too bothered about her milk! She went from the 2nd to the 9th centile as well

BabyB19 · 23/02/2021 22:56

I didn't have a period for a while tbh but that's because of the surgery I had to remove my placenta, and don't talk to me about sex I'm 6 months in and I'm sure they've put an extra stitch in, which might sound like a win but it's definitely not, no such thing as a quicky these days it's takes a long time to pre heat the oven before putting the dinner 🤦🏽‍♀️😭🤣 xx

@BabyB19 I can’t believe how similar we are and our little girls. I currently have a note on iPhone with exactly the same 🙈 I think it helps me feel more in control but your right it does absolutely nothing. Did you find weighing her helped I just wouldn’t want to become obsessed with that as well! We have final weighing with HV Thursday but then she not seen for six months which I find bonkers. I also find she is quite a sleepy baby somedays just along for feeds and nappy how was Blake early on? How’s her sleep now!? What about private message for sending mobile numbers for what’s app. 😅 yes slow and steady for us as well. I didn’t think it was possible for it to shrink it’s probably my bodies way of saying no more babies yet! What are you all doing for contraception.

BabyB19 · 24/02/2021 10:42

@Jonesbabynumber1 that literally was my iPhone notes as well. The best thing I did was delete the lot. She was never anywhere near drinking the advised amount and in the end I was over feeding her and making her sick trying to get that amount because I felt so pressured to get that much down her. I got the scales and allowed myself to weigh her once a week. By 4 weeks of weighing her and seeing gains every week I realised I needed to just listen to my baby and she would eat when she was hungry!
She started taking much lower feeds during the night and I realised she was waking out of habit not hunger so I stopped feeding her in the night and settled her with her dummy instead (that was 10 weeks) and she started taking bigger feeds in the day.
I went back on my pill and it made me CRAZY so I've come off it and started using natural cycles instead I feel a million times better!

@BabyB19 yes i do try and relax more now, I found she was falling asleep while feeding so he went to bigger teats and that’s helped but it’s all trial and error isn’t it. I find writing the time helps so I can know whether a grumble is a tried or hunger one so maybe I’ll stop recording how much and just so times. Funny you say that adalyn the same only has an oz through the night at a fed maybe I will try to settle her rather than go straight for the bottle but I probably do that as don’t want OH to be disturbed for too long as he has work. How often did you change her nappy a feel guilty if I don’t change it at every feed! I know I don’t fancy anything hormone based but don’t know if I trust my body enough to do natural cycles maybe we’ll just stick to conforms for the moment. But my husband although patient is like a dog on heat at moment was yours the same 😅 fab I’ll message you mine
