So sorry!
Baby Jessica was born yesterday aged 01:07am! Had pessary inserted at about 6.45pm on monday, was already 1cm. Was kept in for 24 hours, then re assessed, not a lot had changed, apart from cervix was softer. So had the gel put in, which was to then be assessed after 6 hours.
DH had to leave at 8, so was about an hour after the gel.. I felt a popping sensation twice then stood up and felt a trickle or waters, went to the loo and a bit more etc..followed by what I thought were strong contractions haha, midwife played it down and examined me again, said 1 to 2 cm and offered me pethidine...took that. DH still not allowed with me as not in active labour and gone visiting hours!
The pethidine knocked me out for a couple of hours and I woke up to strong contractions again.. I then felt like I needed to push a massive poo and was genuinely concerned it would be a baby haha. Midwife ended up examining me on the toilet and saying ok, we need to call delivery suite now and get Dad here...cue him being called at 12:36am and being told to rush in, me having to breathe through contractions not pushing to basically keep baby in! He made it at 12:55, she was born at 01:07, honestly never been so relieved to see him lol.
All good now though, she has a touch of jaundice so back in for the UV light. But generally we are good xxx
