Hi! New to this... social isolation is driving me mad and thought it would be nice to chat to some other expectant mummies. Anyone else due in July? How are you all finding pregnancy/social distancing?

Meee. Due 26th July. Was hoping to meet some real life mummies in classes and whatnot but I guess that's not happening any time soon! But hopefully I'll still be able to take little one to classes and meet people then.

I was feeling impatient before covid kicked off, but now I'm glad we've got some time. I feel sorry for anyone with a little one recently born right now!

I feel the same about classes, it's a shame! I agree about having time. Hoping things calm down a bit.
Have you felt much movement yet? I'm worried cos I've felt no kicks, but I have an anterior placenta. And do you know what you're having?

I’m due July 22nd with a little boy. I’m struggling with all my appointments being cancelled. I also saw a family nurse and a mental health nurse so my anxiety and PTSD is having a field day! Haha! Has anyone bought anything yet?

I have an anterior placenta too, but I must admit I do feel him regularly. It started suddenly beginning from about 20 weeks. There's still some hours that go by without feeling him though so I hope that changes as it goes on.

There's a thread about anterior placenta atm, maybe you've seen it (maybe you've posted! I don't know) but if not some people were saying it matters whether it's low, high, or central. Hopefully you'll start feeling movement soon. If not, make sure you tell your midwife - I'm sure they'll be able to put your mind at ease.

@AnnaC2020 that's tough - do you mean antenatal midwife appointments? Mine are gonna be over the phone which I'm not happy with really, as it's my first baby and I need the face to face reassurance. I understand the precautions though. I hope you feel better soon, treat yourself to something nice! it's not really a fun time to be expecting

Bought a few things including a cot - have you?

@Shmabel - yeah I am starting to get a bit concerned. Been told to wait until 24 weeks and contact the midwives again, so not long... mine is low, where is yours positioned? Sometimes I wonder if I actually know what feeling I'm supposed to be looking out for...

Oh no@AnnaC2020 that sounds awful. Bad enough to be in lockdown with MH issues, but when you're pregnant you need the extra support.

I don't know where mine is positioned. The sonographet didn't say and I didn't think to ask I just know it's anterior. It's true though that you could be feeling it and not know what it is! I only really counted big kicks which I could be sure of, but lots of people say it feels like butterflies, bubbles or little pops at first. You might think you have gas when it's your little girl!

@annac2020 - have you been getting extra support from the antenatal team due to mental health? I think they may be able to provide you with that?

I'm due July 24. I haven't been told any appointments are cancelled as yet. My next one is in a couple of weeks so we shall see.

Yes I have absolutely no antenatal appointments now I missed the 20 week one when they come to your house after the scan and now my 25 week one is over the phone. I have specialist midwives who ‘deal’ with this sort of stuff called the Wings team but to be honest they’ve not been any more or less helpful than I imagine other midwives to be? I’m busy moving house just now so I can take my mind off of it! I think it’s weird that they’ve cancelled all the appointments because they need to take urine and your OBs to look for protein or HBP etc? I don’t know how useful the phone call will be

I’ve only bought nursing bras (because my boobs have ballooned!) and a nursing pillow which is currently being used as a belly pillow for night time 😂

I haven't heard about my appointments being cancelled either. My next one is a gestational diabetes test in less than two weeks (no reason to think I have it though). I would think the urine tests are important. I know things are far from ideal right now but it would be terrible if pregnant ladies had conditions that weren't discovered when they should be. They must do these tests for a reason!

I especially think it's important to see patients when there are MH issues. They can't really check on welfare that well over the phone. It's not the same

Hi everyone! I’m due in July too (16th), currently 25 weeks and also have an anterior placenta. This is my second so I felt the movements at around 18 weeks with then getting quite strong by 20 weeks. Not sure if that’s due to the position of my placenta or just because it’s my second pregnancy - or even a combination of the two!

Where are you all from? I’m just outside of Edinburgh and haven’t heard of any midwife appointments being cancelled yet, though the midwife did phone before my last appointment to carry out a risk assessment. My next appointment isn’t until the end of the month when I’m around 28 weeks so it could all change by then anyway.

Thankfully I have most of the big items from last time, but not sure when to start to order smaller things like clothes. I’d prefer to go out and look at them before buying but who knows if that will be possible before July!

I am also due 16th! With an anterior placenta, and movements for a while now.

Luckily non of mine have been cancelled yet... had one this week. I am seeing midwife every 3 weeks, about to go to fortnightly and no word of that stopping... yet.

As this is my second I have the big bits anyway. I bought some clothes when I found out it was a boy, my first is a girl. Have since tried to order some vests and everywhere is out of stock in the small sizes!! Xx

I am starting to feel a bit worried now about my lack of feeling movement having read everyone's comments... I hope it's because it's my first and where it's positioned .

I am Brighton based. Have an appointment 22nd April which I have now been told will be over the phone (I only know because I rang up Triage to check). To be honest with a first baby I think it's even more important to have face-to-face appointments. Or if the mother has MH issues... I suffer from anxiety which is through the roof.
I have a diabetes test the following day which obviously is face-to-face. I'm wondering about the urine test for my 25 week appointments too... it's unsettling!

How many weeks are you? Everything says not to worry/report it until 24 weeks.
What’s your build like too? That can affect it?
When you go for a diabetes tests ask for them to listen to the heartbeat. Might help to reassure you. My placenta is anterior but also low lying so I feel a lot of kicks at the top. If yours is right at the front and not low lying it will probably be masking a lot xx

Hello ladies, I am due 23rd July.
I haven't heard of any cancellations yet. I had a scan last week and my DH wasn't allowed in. I have another with a consultant in 3 weeks, not sure if that will go ahead.

How is everyone feeling being indoors most of the time? x

@Mummyspider27 mine is low too 😫 I’m gonna call at exactly 24 weeks (Unless something changes)! Haha.
I’m 5 foot tall and average weight prior to pregnancy I guess. Slimish with a bit of a beer belly 😂

@pottypotamus they’ve changed the rules on scans then. Such a shame for you and your husband! I had one two weeks ago and there were restrictions but partner was allowed in at that point.

I'll be 25 weeks on Monday.

@BIrdy1991 do you feel any movements at all? I have an anterior placenta so only started feeling kicks/movement at around 22-23 weeks and even now she isn't overly active sometimes. I had my 25 week app yesterday and she's fine, the midwife said this is totally normal and a pattern isn't established until later on so don't worry about the gap in between feeling. If you're walking etc and you're busy the baby usually finds the rocking sensation soothing and sleeps it's when you lie down they tend to wake up a little. 💕

@lovelyjubbly12 - I don't think so, unless I'm mistaking it for gas or something else?! I find it so hard to know. Congratulations on your little girl!

@BIrdy1991 how far along are you? Because to start with I felt little bubbles just like gas and then it went into what felt like my stomach twitching and then it turned to kicks. But I really didn't feel anything properly until probably 22 1/2 weeks - 23 and they're just stronger now. I was really worried because I'm quite slim and I took that as I would feel the baby really early on, so when I couldn't I panicked. But totally normal. 💐

@lovelyjubbly12 I'm 23 weeks + 2 days. I think I just need to see how this week goes and try not to stress! Thanks for the reassurance

I'm due 9th July! all appointments have gone ahead so far but my DH hasn't been allowed to attend. Also sad about the classes but have signed up to virtual ones online. Is anyone still going to do the NCT classes?

Hello everyone! I’m due on 16th July too. So far my appointments haven’t been cancelled, my next midwife appointment is at the end of this month. I’m having extra scans due to my baby’s ventricle being enlarged (borderline). It’s stressful as it is plus the current circumstances- let’s say it doesn’t help the anxiety... . I am also really hoping that birth partners will be allowed in. It’s my first baby so I’m all new to this. Trying to find some positivity and hoping we will all get healthy babies at the end of this.
Are you going out for your one a day walk? I live in London and I’m quite scared so I only go out to the park when around 10 PM, when it’s empty!
