Hi! New to this... social isolation is driving me mad and thought it would be nice to chat to some other expectant mummies. Anyone else due in July? How are you all finding pregnancy/social distancing?

Hi guys, hope you are all ok and enjoying your pregnancies. I am currently 30 weeks and have been experiencing Braxton hicks, restless legs and round ligament pain. I am struggling to sleep and my anxiety about this virus has returned :(

On another note, I had a hospital appointment earlier this week and wore a mask and gloves. I noticed that most of the other women, who were clearly a lot further along in their pregnancies, were not wearing marks of gloves. Wondering if I am worrying unnecessarily?

Birdy1991 · 22/05/2020 21:30

Hi @Ellewellynelly !

I’m 30 weeks also!
I haven’t had a hospital appointment since the Covid thing got really serious here but I have a scan in a couple of weeks. I guess it doesn’t hurt to be careful, that said I won’t wear one, I don’t like the look of the feel of them. I’ll just be careful not to touch anything and to wash my hands often. Smile hope your pregnancy is going well

Hi @Birdy1991

Not sure I will wear one when I go for my next appointment- could barely breathe in it.

I have a scan next week, so hopefully all is ok. Still haven't had my whooping cough vaccine 😬 hospital ran out of it! So have another appointment for next week- it will be my 5th!

I was originally due to give birth in July but just had my little boy delivered through emergency Csection yesterday at 31 weeks and 2 days so I hope the rest of you enjoy the remaining time of your pregnancy's and have pleasant births xx

Mummyspider27 · 23/05/2020 09:09

@Courtney2020 congratulations! I hope you and baby are ok? Can I be nosey and ask for the reason for the section? Currently on rest due to placenta issues. If I bleed will need emergency section too, I am 32 weeks. How much did baby weigh? Are they in special care? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to get all the information incase I end up delivery early.

@Ellewellynelly I went to the hospital this week. I would say half the staff had masks. And of 20ish pregnant women 2 did. Saying that I felt perfectly safe the whole time x

Ellewellynelly · 23/05/2020 17:40

@Courtney2020 congratulations! Hope you and baby are doing well.

@Mummyspider27 wishing you all the best x

Courtney2020 · 23/05/2020 21:05

@Mummyspider27 my placenta had stoped feeding baby and he had poor cord flow the decided to deliver at 31 weeks and 2 days because his heart rate was really flat and not going up and down much and his movements had really slowed down so baby just wasn't happy and decision was made that it was better for him to be out than in he was born weighing 3lbs 5oz he's just so perfect he is doing well needed assistance to breathe when born and day after but now he is breathing on his own has a feeding tube as he can't swallow as of yet due to being so early but is showing interest as keeps trying to suck his tube xx

Birdy1991 · 23/05/2020 21:32

@Courtney2020 so good to hear he’s doing well. Hope you are too xx

Hiya @Birdy1991 I'm 34 weeks today!
Just walked the dog and that's used up my energy for the day. Lazy day for the rest of the day.

I'm a bit fed up now. Ready to be not pregnant and have my little girl here. 😬

Birdy1991 · 08/06/2020 11:01

Me too! Had a scan at 32 weeks and she’s got her head down ready! Lol was nice to see her again although she’s a bit squished in there now 😂

34 weeks not long to go!! This last slump is really draining though lol...

Oh I bet it was lovely to see baby. I wish I could get a 4D scan, I didn't want one before lockdown but now I think it'll be nice to have... obviously when I can't have it 🤣😭

Oh god I know. I feel like the end is close but so far. In that stage now where it's like "wonder where my waters will go, on the dog walk? At the supermarket???" I've resorted to putting bin bags in the car just in case I need them to sit on 🤣 just trying to get prepared now!
