Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm the same it's mostly mild nausea but so many food aversions eating pretty much cereal, plain pasta, cheese toasties. Makes it so difficult - it's the weirdest feeling as feel so hungry yet hating eating.

Pink15 · 06/04/2020 11:43

My husband went shopping on the weekend and I couldn't even help him unpack the food as looking at it all made me feel so sick!

burntpinky · 06/04/2020 11:45

@wafflewafflewaffle yes I can’t change pooey nappies at the moment either - literally makes me retch. Same opening cupboards or fridge. And can’t stand chicken. If DH cooks any for DC I have to stay away. Have just turned down a macaron (very unlike me). It’s so bad today all I can stand is dirty white bread as toast.

SqidgeBum · 06/04/2020 11:56

I am struggling with all of the above! DH went food shopping today, I really struggled to help him unpack it. DH is also cooking and is only making bland food, but does have his own nice dinners twice a week. I sit in the sitting room moaning while he fries onions. I also cant handle DDs nappies, which DH thinks is very convenient lol. The fridge is my enemy, every meal time is stressful, but I am also hungry. However, I just had a soft boiled egg with some toast and lots of salt and it was amazing!! It was the highlight of my week eating one meal that didnt make me feel like puking.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 06/04/2020 11:58

I wish I had food aversions.

Fouryearslater · 06/04/2020 12:10

I don’t have food aversions as such, I just don’t want anything. And I think that’s making the sickness worse. Thrown up twice so far today and have had to sign off work for the day. I feel awful. And that’s with the drugs 🙁

canueve · 06/04/2020 12:18

Ugh, same same same.

I have been eating fruits, which thankfully I still love them all, brioche with cream cheese, toast for breakfast.
butter or garlic and olive oil pasta and whatever I can bear to eat at night.
No tomato sauce or anything.

Been craving bolognese but can't find Quorn mince anywhere.

ACatCalledLola · 06/04/2020 12:30

So many food aversions here. I’ve gone off cheese except emmental, I don’t fancy pasta or cous cous but I love white toast which I never usually have. Most food smells seem to make me feel sick so I’m having to make very basic meals which don’t require much preparation. My diet seems to consist of fruit, toast, mashed potato, emmental cheese and ice cream at the moment.

ACatCalledLola · 06/04/2020 12:31

@canueve quorn seems to be in short supply at the moment. I looked for quorn nuggets last week and I couldn’t find any. Noticed that there was hardly any quorn in the veggie section.

Wise0wl · 06/04/2020 12:46

I'm struggling with meat at the moment, or anything with a 'wet' texture. Toast is a real saviour!

LozEliza · 06/04/2020 12:51

@SqidgeBum I totally hear you about the onions. DH fried onions with his dinner last night and I cried because the smell made me feel so sick. Egg on toast actually sounds amazing I wish I had eggs and bread in the house now :(! Also photos of food on social media! Omg the worst! Every meal time is a struggle cause I just don't want anything. All I've eaten today is a chocolate croissant and an ice pole.

futuredreams · 06/04/2020 12:51

Yeh I second the meat aversion. Can’t seem to face it at all. Even mashed potato. I’m o my stomaching fruit at the minute with the odd bit of bread.

AnxiousLady1 · 06/04/2020 13:00

Quorn is like gold dust right now!

burntpinky · 06/04/2020 13:15

@ACatCalledLola I’m obsessed with white toast too and never ever buy white bread normally, even usually have burgers on whole meal buns as just prefer taste of whole meal bread, but since pregnant I just want dirty thick white bread slathered in butter. Which is bonkers as it has bugger all nutritional value!

bluebell94 · 06/04/2020 13:21

Ahh I also had dippy egg and toast yesterday and it was heavenly. I've got such a sweet tooth normally but I'm desperate for savoury at the minute. I am eating far too many salt and vinegar crisps! Which I absolutely wouldn't normally. Would kill for a big crusty white loaf with loads of lurpak right now, you're all making me hungry... 🤤

burntpinky · 06/04/2020 13:28

I love how it changes salt to speech and language therapist - sounds like they’re quite tasty!

BuffaloCauliflower · 06/04/2020 13:37

Seems I’m the only one feeling generally ok! I’ve been craving carbs more and a few things are smelling or tasting a bit odd, but apart from that no aversions, no proper sickness. But I am still only 7+5. I’d be grateful for feeling ok if it wasn’t so worrying!

Got my booking in appointment today, May 1st when I’ll be 11+2. Seems quite late?

Hancock2020 · 06/04/2020 14:01

I'm so sick of feeling sick! I cant even go to the doctors to get any help because they are closed! I dont remember pregnancy being like this at all with my other 2, maybe it's because I was much younger?

burntpinky · 06/04/2020 14:20

My husband has just sheared all his hair off - he looks like he belongs in Prison Break

Natopp · 06/04/2020 14:26

All I can stomach the thought of isburned bacon, and egg cooked in the bacon fat sandwiches. Anything else completely disgusts me. I can't go near the kitchen and I work as a nanny so making food for the 6 and 2 year old is an absolute nightmare.

The only way I can describe how I feel to DH is it's like someone has poisoned me. I didn't expect to feel this bad. I'm 8+4 today.

HarrietM87 · 06/04/2020 14:53

I guess I should count myself lucky because I’m eating basically normally at the moment. Eating actually seems to help with the nausea so if anything I’m eating more! The first few bites of something make me feel better but by the time I’m finished I feel awful again, so I’m snacking a lot. Haven’t checked but am sure I’ve put loads of weight on already 🤦‍♀️

Natopp · 06/04/2020 15:01

Where does everyone stand on being weighed at booking in appointment? I know to some people it isn't an issue, however I used to have a bit of a sickness when I was younger and would weigh myself religiously to be a certain weight. I haven't weighed myself in over 10 years and I'm much happier and just watch what I eat and exercise regularly. I'm worried if I get weighed and don't like what I hear/see then I'll become a serial-weigher again.. It is a real concern of mine. Can I refuse to be weighed? Sorry, aware that being weighed means nothing to most people, but can be quite traumatic for others like myself.. Any advice ladies? xx

Hancock2020 · 06/04/2020 15:03

@Natopp just dont look at the scales and ask the midwife not to tell you 🤷‍♀️

ParisInTheSpringtime · 06/04/2020 15:16

@HarrietM87 me too. I am glad I don’t have morning sickness, but pretty sure I’ve put loads of weight on. As I’ve been ill with suspected COVID-19 I haven’t been exercising much and I have been eating like a horse. I’m better now though so there’s no excuse.

Fouryearslater · 06/04/2020 15:24

@Natopp you can absolutely refuse to be weighed. But I’d talk to the midwife about your concerns first, there may be a way round it.
