Another new thread for the Nov mums to continue our discussion!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@rachelrainbow my due date is also 2nd November Smile so glad everything is ok with you, I had an early scan at just over 8 weeks and all ok at the moment too!!

SqidgeBum · 03/04/2020 19:37

It's probably bloating @Hancock2020. I had the same up to week 7. It went down after a bit.

However, on the topic of bumps, I am 8+6, and I look 4 months pregnant. My sister and mom saw me on Skype today and said there is no way I am only going 9 weeks. They said I am massive! My MS has also calmed down a lot over the past 5 days. I am staring to wonder am I further along than I thought.

bluebell94 · 03/04/2020 19:40

@canueve 7 weeks tomorrow. This is my first too - however I was my mams first and I was 4 weeks early so who knows! Seems most babies in my family have been early so any time from start of November I'd be happy with/expecting

Snowwhite2020 · 03/04/2020 21:11

Nearly spewed in the bath tonight 🤦🏻‍♀️

Cedarwood7 · 04/04/2020 08:56

Hi all! Mind if I join?

I found out last week that I'm pregnant, so so excited and relieved after a year of trying. I'm 36 and currently about 5wks + 5. Only symptoms atm are sore boobs and mild cramps.

I work in an acute hospital so had to tell work straight away. I've been redeployed to an area which is less patient facing but commuting in and out at the moment is pretty tiring. Glad of the empty-ish carriages though!

I have a midwife phone appointment on the 20th and have decided to book in for an early scan next week just for reassurance. I live in Essex and there's a place close by but DH has to wait outside. Fair enough - wondering if they'll let me film it. What's been everyone else's experience?

Happy Saturday and nice to "meet" you all! Smile

Razmataz92 · 04/04/2020 11:11

Hi @Cedarwood7. Congratulations! I’m also 5+5 today and get some vague nausea but no other symptoms. Also work in hospital but staying patient-facing for now...have had such a dilemma knowing what to do!

Cedarwood7 · 04/04/2020 11:16

Thanks @razmataz92 ! Same to you! It's so great when there's someone at the same point in your pregnancy! Yes it's a tough decision. Thankfully there was that option for me. I felt guilty as someone else then had to take my place but the senior team made the decision for me.

I just took a call from the clinic to say that they're cancelling all scans and closing the clinic 😔😔 absolutely gutted, gonna find it so hard to wait until the 12 week scan if I can't find anywhere else to do it...

Chuckem15 · 04/04/2020 11:22

@Cedarwood7 sorry to hear that! Where is Essex? Window to the womb still seems to be doing scans and it's Wood Street, Walthamstow so maybe not too far? 🤞🏽
You might find somewhere closer but just in case. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I'm due 19th Nov so 7+3 today. Hoping my early scan goes ahead next Saturday

Chuckem15 · 04/04/2020 11:23

Where IN Essex? Baby brain not quite that bad yet 🤣

Razmataz92 · 04/04/2020 11:24

@Cedarwood7 is there a window to the womb near you? They’re still going ahead with scans and are selling hard on them being a medical necessity! I’m not sure how long they can keep it up for though.

No I definitely think moving out of patient-facing is a good choice. I think I’ll be headed that way soon, just need to become a bit more decisive!

Cedarwood7 · 04/04/2020 12:12

You guys are amazing, thank you! Just booked in for a scan at Window to the womb in Witham! We're in Chelmsford so it's pretty close and they're open on the bank holiday. Happy days! 😘😘😘

ParisInTheSpringtime · 04/04/2020 12:32

Ultrasound direct are also still doing scans if anyone else is looking. I am booked in for my Harmony test in two weeks’ time.

Still no symptoms for me. Choosing to believe that my general malaise is a symptom to stop me from worrying 😆 I’m 9 weeks today.

wearenotacodfish · 04/04/2020 13:10

Ultrasound direct have contacted me to say they are closing on Monday but they have re-arranged my scan for today. I'm in the North West so it could be worth contacting them to see if they plan to close in your area too.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 04/04/2020 13:46

Same here - had harmony test and scan booked for 14 April with ultrasound direct. Having a scan this afternoon instead - husband can’t come in. All understandable etc but still sad

ParisInTheSpringtime · 04/04/2020 13:53

Cancel that. All closed. So no harmony test. I am going to terminate as it is clear that we are not a priority and I am not taking the risk. I am disgusted with the way that we are treated.

Fouryearslater · 04/04/2020 14:03

But @ParisInTheSpringtime you’ll still have the NHS screening? And EPUs will still see you if there are concerns?

Catching Covid-19 through unnecessary contact at this stage of our pregnancies is a far bigger risk. A friend from my previous pregnancy group has just lost her baby at 11 weeks and she’ll never know if it’s her fever that caused it. We ARE a priority, it’s why contact is being minimised.

ParisInTheSpringtime · 04/04/2020 14:07

I’ve had covid.

Fouryearslater · 04/04/2020 14:09

Then you can understand why private clinics are closing, surely?

Fouryearslater · 04/04/2020 14:10

Don’t lose perspective, is all I’m trying to say. It’s stressful times but women have successfully had babies for centuries before all the extra nice bits.

HarrietM87 · 04/04/2020 14:31

@ParisInTheSpringtime I’ve pm’d you!

SqidgeBum · 04/04/2020 14:33

@ParisInTheSpringtime terminate?!? When everything could be perfectly fine? Why?!? The chances are so low! The vast majority of people have perfectly healthy babies. I have friends who have had terrible odds, like 1/15 change of FFA, 1/30 chance of downs, and it turned out fine. Perfect little babies. My neighbour currently has strep B and a litany of other things and is 26 weeks and they are treating her brilliantly. Why would you terminate before you even know? Your baby could be perfectly healthy. Women had babies for decades without harmony tests. None of our parents had harmony tests, yet here we all are.

SqidgeBum · 04/04/2020 14:39

Not to mention you will still get the tests done by the NHS at 12 weeks. Its not like its not being done. We are being prioritised by those private scan companies because instead of just staying open so they can make money they are prioritising the health of pregnant women and closing. Its a good thing they arent staying open. The NHS will still treat us.

Addler · 04/04/2020 17:03

I've had some bleeding today, I've had some bloods done today and have got a scan tomorrow morning. Not feeling positive, I just want it over now.

ACatCalledLola · 04/04/2020 18:02

@ParisInTheSpringtime the Fetal Medicine Centre in London is still doing harmony tests and scans.
@Addler I’m sorry to hear that. I hope you get some good news at your scan.

NoseringGirl · 04/04/2020 18:14

@Addler all the best with the scan, thinking of you!
