Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

Morning all! Hope everyone is ok :) welcome to the new joiners and congratulations!

My GP told me they would refer me to my midwife when I spoke to them about 2 weeks ago but hadn't heard anything so I've just given them a call directly! They said they hadn't so it was fine to refer myself so it may be worth calling your midwives directly - I think things are generally up in the air at the moment! She took all my information and said my booking in appt would be done over the phone at about 9 weeks (I'm 6+2 today) and then I'd get a letter about my scan and my bloods would be done at the same time! Feels good to have spoken to them and have it sorted! :)

GreenerGreen · 06/04/2020 11:48

@Emerald89 thanks

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 11:52

Anyone else getting low down cramps? I don’t remember getting these before so bit worried :( x

Babydance255 · 06/04/2020 11:54

@Beccarans89 thanks hun! How far along were you when you called them? I just don't want to call my GP @ in 3 weeks time and then everything be delayed. I think i'd feel better talking to my community midwives x

RunnerGirl123 · 06/04/2020 12:58

@Hakunamatata9 I'm feeling them too, really low down. I'm just telling myself it's everything progressing / stretching as it should. They're quite subtle so hoping all is OK!!

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 13:22

@Babydance255 I just went straight to community midwives (5+2) and they have booked me in for a telephone booking appointment and said they’ll want me to pop in for bloods to be taken around then too

@Colouringinbook
all slowed down again now and feeling ok so fingers crossed for us

Xx

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 13:23

@Colouringinbook sorry tagged you instead of @RunnerGirl123 - getting confused already! 🤣 x

Hi all. 4 weeks today after a positive test over the weekend. I called my GP today and booked in with the midwife this week. After reading others' experience on here I expected a delay so it's worth checking what plans your own surgery has in place Smile

Gems7 · 06/04/2020 13:49

@liaun Snap! I'm 4 weeks and 1 day after a positive over the weekend. Due 13th December 😊 Referred to the midwife this morning, but my apt isn't until May (lucky you) feeling incredibly anxious but excited and really hoping it goes smoothly! Good luck to you and everyone else on here xxx

PBailey20 · 06/04/2020 13:58

I've contacted my GP today. They have made a referral and I have an appointment with the midwife. I've been booked in for the 11th May which is when I'll be 10 weeks. They were really helpful in the surgery. I was worried about calling because I thought they would say it was too early to book anything.

They didn't say anything about booking in a scan- do they wait until the booking appointment to book this in? At 10 weeks it will be really close to 12 weeks also I thought that there were certain checks that needed to be done before 12weeks?

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hannahbobs · 06/04/2020 14:00

Hi all, I found out last Thursday that I'm pregnant, due around 10th December :) very excited but nervous as it will be our first! Few symptoms so far, just a few twinges/cramps and achy boobs!

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 14:21

@PBailey20 lady on phone said to me that they’ll book in the scan on the first booking in appointment made Smile

aitch07 · 06/04/2020 14:25

Is anyone else finding everyday seems like weeks?! I'm 5+1 and after a MC last year I'm really struggling to stay positive. Maybe it's a protective mechanism. Every cramp is scary. How's everyone else coping? Hopefully better than me 😄

littletandme · 06/04/2020 15:39

@PBailey20 your scan gets booked with the hospital once your midwife confirms your hospital of choice. So yes, they will request that with the hospital once you've had your booking appointment.

jtc19 · 06/04/2020 15:39

@twinsbelly Oh I understand thank you for that, my minds kind of at ease now x
@aitch07 I feel the same it does really feel like it's dragging but I think it's also due to having to be in isolation, I am sorry to hear about your loss and I hope the best for you I can imagine it must be very bittersweet for you rn I am also struggling to stay positive but with every negative thought I try to say something positive out loud, I'm struggling abit as I live alone and my partner can't come down to see me as he hasn't been to good with the isolating thing and can't take any risk as his area has a lot of cases so just feeling quite emotional and lonely x

littletandme · 06/04/2020 15:45

I couldn't get through to our community midwives this morning but there was a message saying to visit the hospital website and fill out a form then you'd be put in the system and get a letter within 2 weeks with a booking appointment. Not the same way it was with my DD over 3 years ago but never mind!

littletandme · 06/04/2020 15:57

@PBailey20 also forgot to mention that the last "date" by measurement for the NT check to be done is 13+6. By the time I went for my "12 week" scan with DD she was measuring 14+3 so instead they just made me another appointment to have what they call a quadruple blood test which tests for the same trisomies as the NT check. So don't worry too much if the scan date isn't exactly 12 weeks.

aitch07 · 06/04/2020 16:12

@jtc19 glad I'm not going crazy alone! I haven't told my partner yet as don't think he's going to be overjoyed. He has 2 kids from a previous relationship and is a bit older than me. Wasn't keen on more. Whoops! Definitely feels very lonely though xxx

LBJ2410 · 06/04/2020 17:04

Hope everyone is doing okay today ❤️

The sickness has hit me today!! Struggling to think of something to eat without wanting to vom.

@Hakunamatata9 I've also had cramps pretty much the whole time! From reading it's very common and it just your body stretching as @RunnerGirl123 said ☺️ try not to worry, I know how easy it is to analyse every twinge!

jtc19 · 06/04/2020 17:54

@aitch07 yeah ahah, and oh wow I hope he takes as good news nothing better than the gift of life right, yeah the loneliness is getting to me gonna stay at my mums for the night as she only lives round the corner from me just to have abit of company xxx

aitch07 · 06/04/2020 18:00

@jtc19 luckily I have the worlds best dog so he's giving me extra tlc right now! Glad you're going to your mums ☺️ xxx

Babydance255 · 06/04/2020 18:10

Does anybody know the community midwives working hours? x

CooperLooper · 06/04/2020 18:14

Hi all, just after some advice. Got my BFP today (woo) after 6 months of trying. I've got really irregular cycles, late ovulation and short luteal phase - so I'm somewhere between 3-4 weeks pregnant (maybe due 12th-18th Dec) because I didn't ovulate until CD22 so not sure which date to go off.

I've got pretty consistent period like pains and I have done since my period was due. Did anybody else have that, is that normal?

jtc19 · 06/04/2020 18:21

@aitch07 Aww I'd be happy to be on my own if I had a pet their better company than humans sometimes!! Xxx

Gems7 · 06/04/2020 18:34

@CooperLooper 🙋🏻‍♀️ I do too hun, I am 4+1 today and have had mild period type pains on and off all day, I have them right this minute whilst making tea, hope it's okay 🤞🏻 I'm pretty sure it's common right in the beginning xx
