Hi all,

I'm jumping the gun a little with this as I'm pregnant and found out earlier than a missed period (it's 3 days away)

I had a miscarriage at the start of February so I'm terrified, but trying to be optimistic all will be okay. My lines are getting darker, which they didn't do last time.

Anyone else due in December?

Hi, can I join? I am due early December but not exactly sure when. I found out a week ago and this will be my 4th. I have a 4 year old and 2 year old twins. Now I have got used to the idea I am excited!! I haven't got any symptoms but I didn't in any previous pregnancy either other than pure exhaustion and with this lockdown we aren't as busy as usual! I am a keyworker and do lots of home visits so have told my manager but that's it. I was hoping to book a private early scan to make sure there is just one baby in there before telling anyone else but doesn't seem like that's possible any more. Hopefully I can persuade the midwife to let me have an early scan. I have a booking in appointment in 2 weeks by phone, I think I will be 7ish weeks by then but not sure.

jtc19 · 06/04/2020 03:00

Hey welcome all and congratulations!!❤️
@mariadingbat so sorry to hear about your previous loses wishing the best for you, can't imagine how anxious you are as I'm constantly worried about MC but we all just have to try and keep as positive as possible especially at a time like this although it may be hard x

jtc19 · 06/04/2020 03:04

@twinsbelly did you have anything that made you realise you were having twins? Or was it just at the scan as my partner has quite a lot of twins in his family and I have a strange feeling about it not sure if it's just paranoia but won't have a scam til I'm 12weeks and I'm only 5+4, will absolutely be terrified if I find out I'm having twins cause I'm only 19 and ones terrify enough x

Clemmie83 · 06/04/2020 08:57

@twinsbelly @jtc19 I'm in a similar situation...it's my first but there's a strong history of twins in my family. Was wondering if there's any tell tell signs of carrying twins? I'm terrified of the possibility!

GreenerGreen · 06/04/2020 09:00

Hi and congrats all the new mummies to the group!!! Hoep you're all okay and not feeling too nervous.

I'm 5+4 too, I started with awful morning sickness on Friday and now it just stays all day, I haven't actually been sick yet but feel like I could any moment, even thinking about certain food makes me want to vom! Anyone else feeling the same and how to you overcome it?

I've also been getting these bad headaches and generally feeling unwell most nights, it's not corona though - I've been checking my temp and I don't have a cough etc. Feeling so unmotivated to do any work (I'm working from home) tempted to tell my boss but I'm not even 6 weeks yet or even told any of our family or friends.

Is anyone else feeling a little nervous about the impending baby boom and what that will mean for our little ones? Will nurseries and school's be fuller than normal?

I spoke with my GP on Saturday she told me advice re pregnant women is changing almost daily, we're no longer classed as high risk and can go shopping ourselves if we want to.

I've also been getting some sharp pains on one side which alarmed me as have worries it might be an ectopic pregnancy, but I only get them around 3 times a day and usually when I do something sudden like get-up or sneeze. it's the same area as my endometriosis so hoping it's just my body trying to catch-up with the pregnancy. I;ve been advised to only go in to A&E if it gets much worse.

Would like to go for an early scan, just to be safe. Sorry to hear your scan was cancelled how frustrating!!

xxx

@jtc19 @Clemmie83 twins run in the mother's side of the family so if there is a history of twins in your family it is more likely but not if it's in your partners family. With my twins I found out at an early scan at about 7 weeks but I had got a 2-3 on a digital test at 10dpo which was the only other indicator.

user1487755366 · 06/04/2020 09:41

Can I join too?
Took 2 tests last week and another this morning - I think I'm 4+6 today with no.1 - exciting!!

Clemmie83 · 06/04/2020 09:42

@twinsbelly I've got twins for the last 4 generations on my mothers side! We've always joked that I'd have twins but now it's a possibility I'm finding it quite daunting! How was your experience?

Babydance255 · 06/04/2020 09:42

I only just turned 4 weeks today, so I have literally no symptoms - only the occasional cramping & my nipples have started to feel a bit more sensitive.

Yesterday I felt really blah. Don't know if being stuck in the house is finally starting to take it's toll lol. But hey it's worth it, keep everyone safe ♥️

I called my GP today & they said to call back in three weeks & then I will have a consultation with the midwife over the phone at 8 weeks.

I have booked my private scan for 5th May, which is when I will be 8 weeks. I am so excited, but feel like I don't want to get too excited, just incase the worst happens. Just praying my little Bubbs is healthy and growing as they should be ♥️.

I have a test left over so I might do it in 3 weeks time, just to check it still says positive 🥰🤞🏼

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 09:42

I’m just thinking of peoples reactions when I’ll (hopefully) have a growing tummy by the time I see everyone! Although by calculations I’m guessing scan will be before the end of May so depending when lockdown ends may have to tell as many people as possible over video!? Certainly will be a story to tell! Xx

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 09:45

@GreenerGreen

I found re sickness with my first that I just wanted to eat plain things - plain crisps, plain chips, crackers.

Also ginger really helped! Ginger tea and ginger biscuits! Xx

Colouringinbook · 06/04/2020 09:47

@Hakunamatata9
I know - I'm secretly relieved! Last time we had to tell so many lies to explain why I wasn't drinking or why I looked ill (I had a lot of terrible hangovers Grin) so this time should be easier!

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 09:48

@GreenerGreen

Sorry also forgot to say I’m also feeling really anxious about the baby boom, more than anything people will make comments and jokes and I’m not keen for that, we decided we would stop trying as felt maybe it just isn’t the right time with everything going on. I just don’t want the sniggers and comments.

Surely there won’t be much of a baby boom though? People fall out more when their other half’s are home 24/7 surely? Grin

Also hi to everyone, I am already finding it really hard to keep up with who is who and saying what (sorry!)

Fingers crossed for all of us that all goes well, lockdown works and we can relax a bit more as things start to improve in the world. Xx

Hakunamatata9 · 06/04/2020 09:50

@Colouringinbook same! Glad it’s not just me haha! Work was the hardest especially with feeling sick and last time I was keeping the secret over Christmas! We were meant to be away over Easter so it would have been hard to decline drinks without being obvious !!

twinsbelly · 06/04/2020 09:50

@Clemmie83 honestly, twins are the best thing ever. The first year was pretty tough in that it was a relentless feeding/napping cycle but I did have a not quite 2 year old when they were born as well which definitely didn't make it any easier. It's amazing though. Don't be afraid of having twins, you will love it (and you will look back on the first year and think how on earth did I do that?!)

Clemmie83 · 06/04/2020 10:02

@twinsbelly thanks, that's reassuring! Just want to find out either way now!

Emerald89 · 06/04/2020 10:14

@GreenerGreen I’m not sure where your GP got that info from but I’m a doctor too and I’ve not heard anything at all about pregnant women not being high risk anymore. There simply isn’t the evidence to support that, if anything there is growing evidence that the virus can cross the placenta. I think your GP could be wrong?!

Emerald89 · 06/04/2020 10:16

@GreenerGreen this is latest royal college guidance and still states pregnant women are vulnerable

AnnieCa34 · 06/04/2020 10:17

Hi all
Someone joked I was having twins as I went to 2-3 weeks on digital earlier and my line was super dark 4 days before my period 😱 but I only have twins on my dads side so I’m thinking I just ovulated early so am further along than I think. I haven’t been physically sick but still takes a lot to make me eat and the thought of certain foods (currently egg and mushrooms) makes me want to puke. I made my boyfriend leave the room yday when he ate dinner as it had mushrooms in 🙈. I also can’t keep up with all the names so given to tagging people! Think someone asked on previous page about what happens after you contact midwife. I got a call about 4 days later and have been booked on for when I am 8 weeks to have blood test and they will take all my info then. Appt will take about an hour. I know some are having this on the phone but then not sure how blood tests are being done. I think everywhere is different.

AnnieCa34 · 06/04/2020 10:18

I thought they are saying only pregnant women that are 28 weeks plus need to isolate and the rest of us need to be careful but can still work etc.

Babydance255 · 06/04/2020 10:49

If i call community midwives would I get told the same thing as my GP? To call back in 3 weeks? x

AnnieCa34 · 06/04/2020 10:53

@Babydance255 possibly I called the gp originally who referred me to the community midwife who then called me. But my appointment isn’t until 25th April. I would think if they have told you to wait 3 weeks by doctor you probably should.

GreenerGreen · 06/04/2020 10:59

hi @Emerald89, she advised that we're still classed as vulnerable but no longer 'high risk' for example those over 70 or with underlying health conditions. Either way we're still on lockdown and following government guidelines I haven't been in close contact with anyone for over 3 weeks now as our work starting working from home earlier than the lockdown.

Emerald89 · 06/04/2020 11:11

@GreenerGreen again I think she is mistaken. Pregnant women are still listed on NHS website as being high risk in the same category as 70+ and underlying health conditions.

Babydance255 · 06/04/2020 11:32

How far gone are you @AnnieCa34 ? I might just give them a call anyway & see what they say. No harm in it 🤷🏼‍♀️x
