Haven't had anything definite yet but looks like i will be on my own for 20 week scan on Friday.
General midwife appts have been moved from the health centre to what used to be the children's hospital and at the moment are still going ahead

Nausea has pretty much disappeared! Out of the blue just stopped. Now just certain smells turn my stomach but if I get rid of that its fine.
Restless sleep galore!!!

SammiLou2312 · 29/03/2020 22:16

@Knotemma where abouts are you? I'm from Leeds and they have changed my midwife appointment to a phone appointment as said I still need to have an appointment in some form...not sure what will happen for my scan at beginning of May. Tne

SammiLou2312 · 29/03/2020 22:18

Message posted halfway through apologies...was trying to say...my midwife said scan and specialist appointment would still go ahead but not sure if I will have to go alone. One of my friends went to a different hospital in Leeds and said everyone was in full hazmat gear which was a bit weird. Hoping by May it will have calmed down a little. Hope you are doing ok x

Knotemma · 30/03/2020 08:03

@SammiLou2312 I'm in Durham, the midwife rang to tell me and did a checking in appointment there and then. I won't see her until the end of may now.

Avocuddles · 30/03/2020 10:03

@SammiLou2312 which Leeds hospital are you under? I'm at LGI and was fortunate enough that when I had my scan back on March 19th my husband was allowed in the ultrasound department, though no partners were allowed in maternity. My consultant appointments however are now by phone and where I was going in every three to four weeks for blood tests they've now decided I'm fine to wait 12 weeks and have been prescribed a huge box of my blood thinning injections in the interim! 20 week scan isn't until May 11th, I'm not concerning myself with thinking about that yet as it's still a long way off.
@Knotemma sorry to hear about your midwife appointment being cancelled. I'll certainly be disappointed if my 16 week appointment is cancelled as was really hoping the midwife would be able to listen to the heartbeat and give me some reassurance that the baby hasn't been affected by the coronavirus. It seems instinctively weird to have confidence that it will be fine given how poorly I've been but the doctors have all said not to worry....
Does anyone know if private scanning places are still open? If the 16 week isn't going to happen then I'd certainly be tempted by a reassurance scan.....

@Pippop21 it's natural to feel concerned by every cramp and twinge. I know it's not necessarily any reassurance but I had various cramps which came and went in the first eight weeks or so with all three of my pregnancies, there wasn't any discernible difference between the unsuccessful ones and the current one which has now made it to 14 weeks. The first 9 weeks were incredibly slow for me and filled with constant anxiety, it hope you're managing to keep yourself as busy as possible (given the weird circumstances!) and looking after yourself.

@Rachael321 glad your appointment is still going ahead even if you have to fly solo. Hopefully they'll give you some photos for your OH.

@triedandtestedteacher hope you're ok and haven't had any more bleeding.

@Whiffle77 @Shefliesonherownwings @Treaclepie19 @teaandtantrums90 @didslysquiddlydoo thinking of you all and hope you're ok

@Avocuddles I was under the impression that once you were symptom free for 14 days they would scan you to make sure everything is ok. I might have made that up though 🙈 might be worth querying with the Midwife x

Treaclepie19 · 30/03/2020 10:39

My midwife has said no to face to face appointments. So I'm not sure @Avocuddles. I think most private scan places are now doing NHS scans or closed. I could be wrong though.

2 days until my scan. Finally its come around. Eek.

Shefliesonherownwings · 30/03/2020 10:40

@Avocuddles thanks. Ok here just anxious as ever about this pregnancy. I'm nervous hearing you all are having telephone appointments instead of face to face. I wonder if my booking in appointment will be changed now. I don't mind that so much but I'd hate for any other appointments to be changed.

I've been contacting clinics doing private early pregnancy scans to see if they're still doing them and most aren't. I was hoping to have another at 9 weeks just to help with my anxiety but it doesn't seem anywhere is doing them and most places are closed :(

SammiLou2312 · 30/03/2020 10:49

@Avocuddles I'm under st james. Hoping things will have calmed down by time scan comes around as am so nervous already. Was hoping that midwife could check heartbeat at my appointment next Monday but that is being done over the phone now so no checks. Such a scary world at the moment x

kkr168 · 30/03/2020 12:41

Hi, I've moved over from the ttc after miscarriage chat.
I got my bfp last week & am 5 weeks pregnant.
I am wondering if anyone else has experienced similar to me? My nose constantly feels blocked & when I blow it, it's just blood, this occasionally leads to a full blown nosebleed.

Ibaadsmummy · 30/03/2020 13:05

When did peoples sickness ease off...feeling soo fed up being locked In while feeling soo sick really makes everything so much worse

Knotemma · 30/03/2020 13:15

@kkr168 congratulations on your BFP and welcome. I still get that awful stuffy nose sometimes, apparently pregnancy can make you more bunged up and because you're producing more blood volume the little vessels can burst. I found it particularly bad when my sickness was at its worst.

@Ibaadsmummy mine has calmed down, I'm now nauseous 2 or 3 times a day, mostly early morning and late evening. Still occasionally throw up and I'm 14+5, but I have had it particularly bad. I've found beige/plain food to be a saviour and also making sure I sip my drinks. If I have a big drink I'm guaranteed to feel gross. Hope you feel better soon, at least at home you can rest up. I know it's boring though and not having anything else to focus on can make the nausea seem worse x

Rachael321 · 30/03/2020 13:26

Feeling much better today, had a call from work saying after a risk assessment they have put all pregnant employees on maternity suspension on full pay until safe to return!! Still trying to arrange working from home.

Major weight lifted, so glad to have an answer and a plan.

@Ibaadsmummy my sickness started at 12 weeks and has properly eased off about 17/18 weeks. I found grazing on things was the easiest way to keep things down.and icelollies for fluids

Littlegoth · 30/03/2020 14:27

@SammiLou2312 I’m at Jimmys. Had my 13 week scan on Thursday and no partners are allowed into antenatal clinic. Your temperature is taken before you can go through to the waiting room. My consultant appointment was cancelled and changed to a phone call after 20 weeks. They booked me in for my 20 week scan which is middle of May and as far as they are aware it will be no partners then either unless they are told otherwise.

Sonographer was lovely, took loads of photos for me to take home.

Not sure what’s happening with my midwife appointment yet - it’s on the 16th so will wait time see if I get a call in the next couple of weeks x

SammiLou2312 · 30/03/2020 14:36

@littlegoth well that really sucks. My 16 week midwife appointment was changed to a phone call. I rang her to see what was happening when lockdown kicked in and she told me then. She did say that all the checks on bp and urine etc would be done by my consultant at my 20 week scan appointment so if they turn that into a phone call I'll be even more stressed! I'm worried enough about this pregnancy, without all this other stuff going on 😔

Avocuddles · 30/03/2020 14:56

@Littlegoth my midwife appointment is supposed to be on the 15th but like you I'm assuming it'll change to a call. Mine was due to take place at our local surgery but as far as I'm aware they're pretty much on lockdown now. I was really hoping to hear the heartbeat then but having to come to terms with the fact that the next time we (or more likely just I....) will get to see or hear the baby will probably be at the 20 week scan on May 11th. I think I would feel better if I had a bump developing but there's nothing there at all other than my usual spare tyre of chub.....

@kkr168 congratulations to you! I had a lot of stuffiness and nosebleeds recently. A GP friend suggested inhaling steam, you can also take paracetamol for the discomfort but alas no decongestants.

@Ibaadsmummy nausea probably subsided around 12 weeks for me with the peak around 9 to 10 weeks. I hope it's not too debilitating for you - take it as a good sign that your hormones are running wild!

OP posts:
Littlegoth · 30/03/2020 15:19

@SammiLou2312 I would call Jimmys or your midwife, when my consultant appointment was changed to a call I was told I would still go to my midwife appointment as normal. If my midwife appointment gets changed to a call I think I’ll ask if they can be done in clinic when I go for my 20 weeks scan. I know it’s stressful and I’m sure there’s a solution x

@Avocuddles yep no face to faces at my gp.

One of my friends was able to go to midwife quickly for bloods and urine despite lockdown as consultant led care so no harm asking x

cmc123x · 30/03/2020 15:36

@Rachel321 managed to get on the laptop and upload bump pic (hopefully) here's mine at 19+1.

Pregnant after loss and dreaming of rainbows - 2
Avocuddles · 30/03/2020 16:37

@Littlegoth that's interesting to know as I'm also consultant led, though the majority of extra monitoring would be in the third trimester for me. I guess I'll just wait and see what the midwife says - still just over two weeks until my 16 week appointment so plenty of time for the situation to keep evolving!

OP posts:
Avocuddles · 30/03/2020 16:37

@cmc123x gorgeous bump! When did it start to appear?

OP posts:
SunStruck · 30/03/2020 16:54

Hi ladies, hope you're all keeping safe and well. @Avocuddles great to hear you're on the mend! ❤️

I don't know what they will do over here with the appointments either, I'm due to book my 16 week scan for the week after next. Hopefully that will still go ahead!

I've had a lot of ligament pains lately, like the uterus is growing? Low down on my belly. I can also feel it at night and I can't get comfortable. Anyone else getting this? I'm 14 weeks at the moment.

@cmc123x that is such a cute bump!!! When did you all start showing? I am still wearing my normal clothes and nothing is showing in the morning, but I get a little "fat-looking" around the middle in the evening. Like thicker. I want my proper bump to pop but don't know when that will be?! Or do you just wake up one day with a bump 😁😁😁

Treaclepie19 · 30/03/2020 17:18

Yeah @SunStruck I'm getting a lot of aching and ligament pain too. I'm 13+1 today.

Bellsx · 30/03/2020 17:25

@Avocuddles @Sunstruck thank you ladies (not sure what has happened with my username as I thought I had sorted that so not sure why it's changed again!) I started showing probably a week or so ago as up until then it wasn't as rounded or bump like and I'm currently living in black leggings as I just find them so comfy! How far along are you both?
