Did anyone get their BFP recently? I got mine last night so I think I'm 4 weeks 1 day today and still very much in shock, according to apps my due date would be October 30th.

Hi all! It's so terrifying this stage isnt it! I hope it gets better I've booked an early scan at 7+5 but so scared their not going to hear the heartbeat I dont know it's just a massive fear I have also I've been waiting for the midwife to call me the last few days I had an appointment and theyve still not called apparently an appointment doesnt meant they'll call you that day just at some point which is daft! When did you guys all speak to your midwife for the first time?

Applesandlemons · 05/03/2020 20:03

@naffplatypus good to hear it’s not just me!! I’m going to try working from home tomorrow but I haven’t been able to do that the last two days really so hard to do things when I’m feeling this sick! If this is me at 6 weeks so scared it’ll get worse Shock. When I was in colleagues kept asking me why I was so pale and quiet - driving me up the wall!

Flora20 · 05/03/2020 20:42

Ooh it's been busy in here! I had a couple of days off work at the start of the week because I felt so crap, think it was exhaustion more than anything else but I've now told HR so at least I can take more days off without getting into trouble if I need to!
Also, I had to dress up for book day at work - our department chose the Beveridge Report as our book and I got 'squalor', so spent the day in a jumper stained with tea and coal dust with toy rats sewn on it. Used coffee to make my jeans look mucky and then spent the whole day smelling the coffee and feeling ill because of it 😂 Got to say my look fit with how I've felt the last few days!

Minster2012 · 05/03/2020 21:14

Gosh things are so different around the country aren’t they 🙈
@Littlebb2020 I’m a bit jealous of your early scan I have to say, I’m trying to keep myself busy & nearly booked one myself but talked myself out of it. I did POAS again yesterday when I found one when throwing away the empty boxes of others (in the afternoon as well so silly but it still came up 😬🙄)

@roarfeckingroar what do you do in your GP appointment? They don’t let you have a GP appointment here, I did my self referral over the phone & spoke to the midwife team the weds after we the Friday was OTD @Eatsleepbakerepeat because I took my details of the IVF transfer into my GP surgery, said “this needs to go on my records & it’s come back positive so do I need an appointment?” & they told me to self refer but I also filled out the form for the free dental ...that was 3 weeks ago I put my dentists appointment back 1 week to next week hoping they might just do it & I got my free dental certificate today!

Winner! They obviously believe it Cos it’s IVF as my booking in appointment isn’t til 19th March

Littlebb2020 · 05/03/2020 21:25

How many tests did you do? I did around 15 😂
I haven’t poas for a week and I’m getting agitated to do just one more lol. I had spotting so it’s really the only reason why, tbh it might cause me more stress as I’ve heard some women don’t see much this early and it causes more worry!

DressingGown87 · 05/03/2020 21:28

@littlebb2020 I did quite a few to start with! And then another tonight 🙈 even though I’ve not had spotting, wanted to still check it said 3+ weeks.

@Minster2012 check with your dentist that they can still do you appointment. Mine got put back until the second trimester.

Minster2012 · 05/03/2020 21:44

@dressingGown87 I will do thank you but is that even for a routine check up? Would be v annoying if so as I’m combining with DS who is a bit overdue (though he has had one at age one but in theory should have another at 18 months but I realise a lot of parents don’t do it)

DressingGown87 · 05/03/2020 21:51

@minster2012 you should be ok if it’s for a routine check up. Mine was for a filing, at a private dentist. They said they can’t do it in patients in the first trimester, they did explain, but I’d only found out I was pregnant a hour before, so my mind was a bit unfocused! 🙈

123newbie · 05/03/2020 21:54

Hi found out Im pregnant 6 weeks, also due end of October!
Having lower back back pains & cramps anyone else getting these too?

MamaNaz20 · 05/03/2020 22:17

I would like to get some baggy clothes that Would be suitable for either office or meetings (equivalent to smart casual or Business formal)- any idea where I should start to look? I don't wear baggy clothes so have no idea ... last time I could cover it in normal clothes until I was ready to share the news

Rb486 · 05/03/2020 22:29

Yeah I might do the same. Have you had any symptoms? X

Rb486 · 05/03/2020 22:31

@123newbie yes I’m having the same. Comes and goes, isn’t painful just notice it a little every now and then. I was told it was the uterus growing. Don’t think it’s anything to worry about hopefully 🙂 x

roarfeckingroar · 05/03/2020 22:33

@Flora20 that is fabulous and very funny - well done!!

@Minster2012 I just rang, explained and booked one, not sure what will happen. My GP is excellent though, appointments within two days.

I've had my initial midwife meeting appointment and first NHS scan appointment through!! It feels very real now. Can't wait for next week's (private) scan to hear the heartbeat.

On another note I'm finally home from a week of work travels and I've unpacked, our washing on, had a shower and now I'm in bed with a hot water bottle and my 🧸 and it feels wonderful.

Minster2012 · 05/03/2020 22:43

@DressingGown87 thanks I will check but hope I will be ok, god yeah understandable for a filling and understandable that you were a bit all over the place!! My dentists are good they don’t have a massive wait but I would have to wait a week or so if I change appointment to get a convenient time for both DS & I

@roarfeckingroar our GP are good too but tbh I don’t mind not going in, trying to avoid the doctors what with corona virus & all just in case as I’m already very high risk with multiple health problems, low immune system & steroid deficiency which makes getting sick a hospital visit & potentially life threatening for me that’s before being pregnant so I’m happy staying well clear! 🙈roll on your scan day then!

I just thought to myself there’s still nearly 6 whole weeks til I’m likely to have my 12 week scan & therefore tell ppl. 6 more weeks. That’s an eternity. 😱

milney25 · 06/03/2020 06:21

Hi everyone, I'd love to join you all. I'm due at the end of October, I'm around 6 and a half weeks now. I had a scan at the start of a week following a bleed, but saw a teeny heartbeat. This will be my second 😀

123newbie · 06/03/2020 07:25

It's funny you think your the only one but by reading this thread you realise it is normal lol!!

Minster2012 · 06/03/2020 08:01

Welcome @milney25! You are about the same as me except I’ve had no scans yet

@MamaNaz20 we used to do business casual at my old work and I used to wear things from Dorothy Perkins like their higher neck tops that are often more forgiving around the waist & flowing Shirts & blouses that often don’t need ironing too, the supermarkets are also good places for smart casual business wear too that is v reasonable prices & forgiving shapes good for cardigans too for this time of year

MamaNaz20 · 06/03/2020 10:22

Thanks @Minster2012 I guess I have to start looking - I have difficulty wearing my trousers - I can wear them but with a lot of difficulties so have to look for dresses ...

I am officially 6 weeks and nausea is getting worse. It prevents me concentrating on my work in a month I have so many projects to deliver 😐 last time it went right through W14... so I am expecting 8 difficult weeks this time too ...

roarfeckingroar · 06/03/2020 16:28

Welcome newcomers!

How are we all feeling going into another weekend? I actually feel brilliant today! Nausea under control. Woke up with cramps but that's happening a lot and I'm not too worried.

This time next week I'll be in my scan!!! And NHS scan letter arrived - 21 April. I wouldn't be able to wait that long, like pp said it feels like an eternity.

Rb486 · 06/03/2020 16:57

@roarfeckingroar that’s so good. Being negative and stressing won’t achieve anything. We’ve been blessed with a pregnancy so we should not be worrying ourselves and comparing ourselves to others because as I’ve been reading everyone is completely different and experience different things. Roll on your scan next week, I’ve also brought an early one. Just need to book it in. Enjoy 😊 x

ablisha · 06/03/2020 17:13

Hey ladies, just catching up! Good to see we have had some new people join us 👋🏻
I had a scan today at 6 weeks and saw a baby and heartbeat, has really put me at ease (for now!). We have paid for an early scan in two weeks time so fingers crossed it's the same!
I haven't felt any nausea yet which is good because as a PE teacher I have no idea how I'll cope with that at work!

roarfeckingroar · 06/03/2020 17:51

@Rb486 thank you 😊 I spent the first week after finding out panicking my life was over but now I just feel wonderful

DressingGown87 · 07/03/2020 09:59

Welcome to the newbies!

I’m on a wobble few days, overwhelmed with anxiety. I’ve rang my GP and she is going to try and push my consultant appointment through. I just need to find something I can do this weekend, which isn’t a risk, to take my mind of things. Some of my friends and going out drinking, some are walking in the Lake District, both I can’t participate in! So I’m nervous Nellie at home, praying for some symptoms!

greenleafycarrot · 07/03/2020 10:39

Can I tentatively join? I had a positive pregnancy test on Thursday, and currently estimated to be 6+6 with a due date of 24th October by my GP. I have a scan at the EPU on Friday which should be 7+5, because I've been having some bleeding.

This is very much a surprise pregnancy, and I'm not even sure how much I'm getting in the way of symptoms. No sickness, a little bit more tired than normal, peeing more frequently and a bit constipated. Boobs are a little bit sore but not agony like they have been previously.

roarfeckingroar · 07/03/2020 11:27

Oh no @DressingGown87 I'm sorry you're so anxious. Could you not go walking? I find long walks are the best thing to calm down my anxiety when it's awful. I remember you are quite high risk so I'm not sure if that precludes exercise. I'm meeting a friend for lunch then going for a walk to then get my nails done before a hot yoga class - if you were in London I would say come along!
