I am 6 weeks today I have booked a private scan for 2 weeks time so I will be 8 weeks. Me and my partner are really impatient lol we have known about the pregnancy for nearly 3 weeks so to wait until the 12 week scan seems forever. I have never had an early scan before just the 12 week one so not sure what to expect? What we will see.

If your dates are correct then at 8 weeks you'll see a small peanut sorta shaped baby and a heartbeat.

Pineapplebaby · 20/02/2020 14:39

This was our little bean at 7.5 weeks, got to hear the heartbeat as well.
It was an IVF pregnancy so we knew our dates were spot on.
Dating earlier than 7 weeks and there’s a good chance you won’t hear the heartbeat yet.
Good luck, it’s the best feeling in the world xx

I'm similar, 6 weeks tomorrow and scan booked for 8th March, seems so far away!

KimH88 · 20/02/2020 15:46

Thanks @chrestomamci Smile

@Pineapplebaby Thank you fingers crossed the dates are right and we get to see a heartbeat! @JaffaCakeGal hope your scan goes well and I know it seems forever away!

It should be a little kidney bean shape with a heart beat flickering on the screen. I had one at 9 weeks for the same reason as I just couldn’t wait and it was lovely watching it bounce around. We felt so blessed especially following a previous mc. Here’s my pic for some idea!

Hopefully your dates are right.
We had our first scan when we thought we were 7+5 according to LMP but baby only measured 6+1.... went back for a follow up 2 weeks later and this was what we saw at 8+2 (I'm now 15 weeks)

This was my scan at 7+3, not a huge amount to see but it was so amazing and reassuring to see the little heart flickering away 🥰 It was a little blur with the sac next to it but it helped me to relax so much.

Crazymummyto3 · 21/02/2020 20:00

Forgot to add the pic 🙈

@Crazymummyto3 Thank you Smile I don't expect to see much but just a little reassurance will be great. I can't wait 2 weeks today can't come quick enough!

Congratulations to you all. We had an early scan at 6w due to high risk of ectopic. Fortunately all was ok and saw the little heartbeat, it was so emotional.

8 week scan here. We saw the heartbeat and yolk sac (circle on right). Baby has little arms and legs starting to grow too.

KimH88 · 06/03/2020 11:18

Went for the scan we thought we were 8 weeks 1 day but it was to soon to see a heartbeat or anything so they have booked me back In for 2 weeks time. Feel a little disappointed but hopefully 2 weeks won't drag to much.

@JaffaCakeGal when is your scan?

OP posts:
JaffaCakeGal · 06/03/2020 13:09

@KimH88 mine is on Sunday when I should be 8+1. Sorry to hear yours didn't go as expected.

KimH88 · 06/03/2020 13:39

@JaffaCakeGal thank you I was a little disappointed this morning but its only 2 weeks. Hope yours goes well on Sunday Smile

@KimH88 I had an early scan at 8 weeks and they couldn't see anything either! I'm getting another scan in 2 weeks so we're in the same boat. Fingers crossed x

KimH88 · 06/03/2020 16:04

@Jane0510 oh really thanks that makes me feel better. I've never had an early scan before so it's new to me. I was worried this morning even though I was told not to worry or anything as it's normal. Did you have it done recently? I'm back on the 20th March. I've had my 12 week scan through from the hospital aswel for 6th April.

@djbebe you can see your name and hospital no in your pic. You may want to get it removedThanks

Jane0510 · 06/03/2020 16:17

@KimH88 it was last night! I am a bit worried if it's an ectopic but I've had no pain or bleeding. I'm back on 19th March. Haven't got my NHS scan through yet but I think that's given to me at my booking appointment (17th). I think they think my dates might be out...

KimH88 · 06/03/2020 16:20

@Jane0510 try not to worry I have read quite a few that went a week or 2 later and it was completely different and everything was normal. I understand though i was worried this morning. I had my booking in appointment on Monday and then got my letter with my scan in the post on Thursday.

KimH88 · 06/03/2020 16:22

@Jane0510 and I think my dates are way out too by about 12-14 days by the looks of it!

Went for an early scan today thought we were 9 weeks but actually 8+4. It helps if you have a full bladder I was absolutely bursting but got to see the little baby really clearly from it. The sonographer said a lot of people are usually up to 2 weeks out with their dates.
