@professorastrocat - I said I'd set up a graduates group I'm tentatively on here though coz if the test at 11 is bad news I'll be back on a bus! Everything so far seems ok as the test this morning says 3 + weeks got the midwife appt tomorrow xx

9 weeks... I'll take that! @Needallthesleep
I'm surviving by eating often as that seems to help, drinking more water and getting as much as sleep as I can (this isn't as much sleep as I would like!) but I am fed up of it as you've no choice to keep doing despite feeling crap.

when is everyone telling the world then? I'm leaving telling work as long as I can get away with, but we're thinking of telling family and friends around week 10 before we all seem to have holidays booked. I don't want to leave it later than that for family I don't really like it being secret it's too hard (being pregnant not keeping secret)! I'm 7 weeks tomorrow. 😱

professorastrocat · 02/03/2020 13:13

@BooMamaBear DS's bony elbows are constantly leaning on my boobs currently...argh! 🤣

Needallthesleep · 02/03/2020 13:39

@Hhdxx I’m 7+1 today. This is the first day of it being really awful. Hopefully it doesn’t get too bad for you, at least it’s only temporary!

@professorastrocat do you mind me asking why you are leaving it as late as possible with work? I’m in two minds. Half of me wants to tell them now so they know why I’m so ill. The other half worries that if I tell them now they will find an excuse to fire me (I know I sound insane, but my workplace is ruthless!)

professorastrocat · 02/03/2020 13:45

@Needallthesleep because I've only just moved to the department and it's been a bit of a shitstorm for them recently so they are happy there will be a bit of stability and don't like letting people down. Yeah, I know. So just putting it off really. I already have a bit of a preggo tummy due to bloating/water retention so it's only a matter of time in reality. I guess the sooner you can be honest with work the better if you know they'll be supportive (which of course they should be but you can't account for some individuals!) my work will be supportive I just feel bad.

Needallthesleep · 02/03/2020 13:56

@professorastrocat very weirdly in a similar position to you with newly moving into teams that have had a nightmare. Good to know your thoughts (I basically need everyone else to make my decisions for me!)

Needallthesleep · 02/03/2020 14:24

@BooMamaBear so jealous your sickness has passed. I can’t wait for mine to do one!

Anon87 · 02/03/2020 14:36

@DP's decided he's going to tell his parents on mother's Day with a Moonpig card. He's not sorted the details but he's made the base 😆

I've told my boss (I'm the Assistant Manager) on the quiet because there's a lot of lifting and ladders in our shop and I don't want to be seen as lazy or barking orders but not leading by example.

Social Media wise, it's always after a scan isn't it? 😆

professorastrocat · 02/03/2020 14:52

We're going for Mother's Day too (by chance really but thought it's quite cute!)

BooMamaBear · 02/03/2020 15:36

@Needallthesleep - i don't think they'd dare fire you if you're pregnant coz they can get sued for constructive dismissal - this happened to my sister she was off ill loads and got sacked she didn't realise it's coz she was pregnant til 16 weeks and when she told them they sacked her for missing so much work however they can't count it as sick leave by law if it's pregnancy related so once they knew they had no grounds for dismissal she sued and they settled out of court for a fair amount!! Xx

@Needallthesleep oh no I hope you're feeling better soon! Ginger is meant to be good apparently. I feel a bit off today but I think it's because I didn't sleep properly too. Just feel a bit sicky but I'm just over 5 weeks so not sure.

Has anyone tested on clear blue with the week indicator? I wondered when people got 3+ weeks. I'm over 5 weeks now but don't know whether it's too early to do it xx

Anon87 · 02/03/2020 17:03

@Hhdxx I've got a digital waiting. I've used the normal clearblues already (one 2 days ago and one this morning). Supposedly due on tomorrow and I think I may use the Digi then... Maybe.... 4+1 according to FEM

Hhdxx · 02/03/2020 17:09

@Anon87 it's so exciting seeing it on a digital! I did one last Tuesday and got 2-3 weeks, felt amazing!!!! Xx

Anon87 · 02/03/2020 17:16

DP just wants to see it in writing but says the digital isn't good enough 😂

What's the thing about them, like it says 1-2 weeks but you'll actually be 3-4 or something?

sparkler07 · 02/03/2020 17:18

@Hhdxx. Im doing my last digital on Friday when i am 5weeks 5 days. Should say 3+ weeks from today but giving it an extra few days. X

Anon87 · 02/03/2020 17:33

I'm just happy seeing these get stronger, even if today's was took in the dark 😄

@sparkler07 I might too. Funny how were the same day nearly 😂😂 xxx

Anon87 · 03/03/2020 07:53

AF due today so I saved this bad boy for the occasion. Still running aside one steps which still take forever and do my head in!

This should be it. The final. No more testing.... But I ordered 2 FRER the other day, they're waiting in work for me to collect. Idiot 😄

@Anon87 yayyy congratulations xxx

Anon87 · 03/03/2020 08:19

Thank you 😊
Had to be dead quick as the teenager was walking down the hall 😄

Telling work people today (and HR) so they can take the lifting jobs. Still not form public/customer knowledge.

Needallthesleep · 03/03/2020 08:55

Another day sat on the floor of the toilets at work trying not to be sick Sad

I told work this morning. I felt so so awful I felt I needed to explain why. They were really nice about it, I was surprised.

Needallthesleep · 03/03/2020 09:13

Also, apologies for just putting self indulgent rants on here about feeling sick. Just finding this so lonely. I can’t tell my friends. So just threw up in the work toilets and just have to pick myself up and carry on. This is the worst.

professorastrocat · 03/03/2020 09:40

I'm with you @Needallthesleep it is lonely. It's so hard what we go through in the early days I think we possibly make things harder for ourselves by not telling people. Well done for telling work 🙌

@Anon87 yay! Doesn't get more official than that! 😁

Talcott2007 · 03/03/2020 09:41

@Needallthesleep - never apologize for needing a rant! That's what the thread is here for!

I'll join you! My nausea seems to have calmed down to a low level hum but it's there most of the time now especially right after I eat anything! My sense of smell (which was my first true symptom with DD) seems to be heightening again. DH was making a cheesy pasta sauce last night for dinner and it smelt so strong i couldn't eat it!

Also I filled in the online self-referral forms for Maternity Services in my area yesterday evening - Suddenly makes it all feel very real!

Slightly maddening form took ages to submit properly because they have a really stupid 2 part mandatory question which goes like this: Part 1 - What is your NHS Number (input 'NK' if not known) Part 2. Two tick boxes to choose 'I have not included by NHS Number because a) I don't not know my NHS Number b) I do not have an NHS Number.
Now I know my NHS Number and typed it into Part 1 ....however I still then had to check one of the boxes in Part 2 before I could submit the form! But obviously neither of those options were actually relevant because I DO know my NHS number! Honestly - who designed this form?!!?

Anyway I'm supposed to receive an email confirmation that the form submitted and then will get an booking in appointment through in due course and so far nothing.... I'm already getting twitchy about it not having worked properly! It's slightly complicated by the fact that I absolutely need to have seen a consultant by 12weeks as i'm going to need to start a course of fragmin/clexane injections by then to manage my preexisting blood condition. Ok Rant Over.

Hope you feel better soon @Needallthesleep!

sparkler07 · 03/03/2020 10:31

The community midwife at the hospital rang me back this morning.
Im all booked in at the children centre in 3 weeks. Its all changed since i had my youngest, used to be at the Gp. Xx
