Wise0wl · 16/04/2020 10:37

Good luck @professorastrocat!!

BooMamaBear · 16/04/2020 11:38

Hope it all goes well @professorastrocat -let us know!!
Just found out we got our first choice school so happy!!
Though one of my friends didn't get any of her 5 choices despite being in the catchment for her first choice, although she lives in a nice area she is close to a rough area and she's been given the school in the rough area- she's appealing and said she'd defer her child starting school than send her to that one!! Xx

Thinking of you @professorastrocat! Yay for the wait being over! So sorry to hear you've been feeling so unwell @Wise0wl. Hopefully things will start to pick up a little nowx

I'm a key worker and work put me up in a hotel for a few nights over Easter because I live quite far away and was worried about transport. It's an extremely posh hotel and they've been putting on a basic buffet dinner and breakfast for us every day, which is very kind.

I was about to start my final nightshift, so went down for dinner feeling really quite peaky. I've been managing the nausea by pretty much eating constantly- I'm going to be the size of a house. The smell of the food turned my stomach a little but I still queued up because I needed to eat and I had a shift ahead. The choices were sweet and sour chicken, which I don't really love at the best of times and quite a strong thai fish cake vegetable stir fry. I didn't want either, but figured at least the stir fry would be healthy. Got a really good seat by the window and sat there trying to avoid the smell of my dinner.

Had some bread roll, all good. Decided to man up and took a bite. Only problem was that it was now in my mouth. Managed to swallow a third, then did possibly the longest retch of my life. In the restaurant.

I hadn't been sick at all up to this point so was trying to work out if I should tough it out, then realised that I had nothing to vomit into, I had no idea where the nearest toilets were and that my room was on the 13th floor. Stuffed my trusty bread roll in my bag, speed walked put of the restaurant with tears streaming down my face and somehow, somehow made it back to my room in time, running and retching all the way. Blush

Not quite the fancy dinner I had imagined. I wound up eating chicken pie and fanta outside the hospital before work, because, as a northerner, pie was what my stomach really wanted apparently. Grin

Wise0wl · 16/04/2020 13:10

Thanks @Bumblebee413 😊

Oh my goodness poor you!! The sick feeling is the worst when you’ve taken a bite of something. I had it with homemade curry but thankfully was at home! I’m basically eating entirely beige food these days - pie sounds great!

professorastrocat · 16/04/2020 13:25

Thanks everyone 🤗
It was wonderful and baby was so clear and so wriggly. Arms and legs everywhere! I was anxious but it only took seconds to bring up image and see heart beating etc.
Moved due date to three days later which is fine as that's three more days I can avoid nagging about smears etc at the time!

@Bumblebee413 poor you! That sounds awful and never fun if you're on your own too. Yay for northerners and pies though!

@BooMamaBear glad you got your first choice school 😊

professorastrocat · 16/04/2020 13:26

I don't mean smears I mean sweeps! 🤪

Hhdxx · 16/04/2020 13:49

@professorastrocat congratulations 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Hhdxx · 16/04/2020 13:50

@professorastrocat how many weeks did they tell you you were? Xxx

professorastrocat · 16/04/2020 14:20

@Hhdxx sonographer said around 13 weeks 😂 but the notes say 12+6. I thought I was 13+2 so 3 days difference. Not like with my first which was a bigger difference, like pretty much a week, and due date moved earlier.

Try not to worry about your dates, they may change again tomorrow!

Hhdxx · 16/04/2020 14:43

@professorastrocat so glad it all went well. I'll let you know how it goes for me tomorrow. This time tomorrow ahhh I can't believe it

professorastrocat · 16/04/2020 15:05

Yup we'll be thinking of you

BooMamaBear · 16/04/2020 15:07

Great news @professorastrocat!!

Poor you @Bumblebee413 -I had a similar experience with a plant based burger never tried one before and it was so disgusting it made me physically sick. I was in a fancy restaurant and just made it to the toilet in time! That was the only time I've actually been sick -definitely couldn't turn vegan!! Xx

Found out DD's been allocated our 1st place choice for Primary School! Such a relief! I was starting to panic a little as even though emails are not supposed to start coming out until 4PM - it seemed like everyone and their uncle had their emails through at 9AM - we however were still waiting at 2PM! So glad the wait is over and it's the best possible outcome!

Wise0wl · 16/04/2020 16:01

Great news @professorastrocat!!! So exciting!

Also hurray @BooMamaBear and @Talcott2007 on the school places too! Smile

BooMamaBear · 16/04/2020 17:14

@Talcott2007 - great news it's such a relief isn't it I emailed the school straight away to accept the offer - my friend who got allocated a school not on her 5 preferences despite being in the catchment for her first choice asked them to re check it which they did and said her daughter definitely wasn't in any her preferred schools -she has been emailing the council all day and they have finally come back and said they've made a mistake!! Xx

This is good news all round! Congratulations everyone! Especially @professorastrocat! This is so strange- we all 'knew' each other when it was just sex and unwanted afs and now there's these wriggly little babies popping up everywhere!

Thank you for sharing your stories- I was very much hoping I wasn't alone! Luckily I saw the funny side of it. Whilst sat on the floor next to the toilet finishing my bread roll... bring on the beige! Feel free for judging me eating in a bathroom- definitely not my proudest moment!!

professorastrocat · 16/04/2020 19:49

@Bumblebee413 absolutely, it's awesome!

And no judgement from me. We do what we gotta do! 😂

Talcott2007 · 17/04/2020 08:47

Ugh! Tell you what I've been feeling ROUGH since last night! DD came down with a dodgy tummy Tuesday which tbh we thought was easter chocolate induced but it seems like it must really be something which I now have - I have terrible stomach ache now, high in the stomach rather that distinctive from the lower back stretching ache that I've had since day dot with this baby. Struggling to sleep in general so I could really do without this on top! Sad

Needallthesleep · 17/04/2020 09:12

Congratulations all of you who got your school places. You must be so relieved! I’m already worrying about it for my two year old.

@Hhdxx good luck today. Let us know how it goes.

@Bumblebee413 that story is hilarious (though probably not for you at the time!). The learning for all of us is that pies are the way forward.

@professorastrocat yay for the wiggly mini professor. So exciting.

BooMamaBear · 17/04/2020 12:32

@Hhdxx - good luck for today! Xx
@Bumblebee413 -I've eating in the bathroom a couple of times so no judgement from me - when I was struggling with sicknesses I sometimes preferred to know I'm close enough to a toilet when i felt really sick but was trying to force myself to eat!!

One of my friends had a baby last week and wasn't allowed anyone with her to give birth but even her DH!! I hope this has changed by October!! Xx

Hi girlies. The scan went well, I'm in complete shock and can't quite believe it!!! My lovely husband waited in the car for two hours for me to have all my tests bless him ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I will post a pic later. The baby was very wriggly!!!!

Needallthesleep · 17/04/2020 16:37

Oh I’m so so happy to read this @Hhdxx! Fantastic news. What’s your new due date??

Hhdxx · 17/04/2020 17:24
