@professorastrocat - I said I'd set up a graduates group I'm tentatively on here though coz if the test at 11 is bad news I'll be back on a bus! Everything so far seems ok as the test this morning says 3 + weeks got the midwife appt tomorrow xx

I feel really nervous about something going wrong now coz we've got past the 50/50 chance thing it would be awful. I have to wait for the miscarriage risk of the cvs to pass -they usually say 2 weeks which is a week tomorrow but the report says the risk Is 6 weeks but more likely in first 2-3 weeks then some sources say most cases of miscarriage occur 2-3 days after - I'm confused - once I get past this risk I'll be In the same boat as everyone with a normal pregnancy!
Planning to tell my DD on Friday coz she's so grown up now (4.5) that if anything did go wrong she's know something was up! I really hope this is my rainbow tho! Xx

@BooMamaBear what incredible news! So so wonderful to hear happy news in what is a totally awful time. Huge congratulations

Hatepickinganame · 07/04/2020 08:42

@BooMamaBear how many weeks are you now? With my second pregnancy i had a laparoscopy under GA which put me at high risk for miscarriage, they said if we got to twelve weeks we should be fine. Not sure how different it might be for your procedure though. Keeping everything crossed for you x

Bumblebee413 · 07/04/2020 08:50

Congratulations @BooMamaBear!!! Such special, wonderful news! And congratulations too @notetaker! This is an exciting thread GrinGrin

BooMamaBear · 07/04/2020 09:31

Thanks everyone -@Hatepickinganame -CVS takes a sample of cells from the placenta it just poses a miscarriage risk like Amnio does but they usually say it's for 2 weeks it's hard to tell though coz most are in the first 2-3 days after and as it's done at 11 weeks some of these are pre 12 weeks so they don't know if CVS caused it? Just want to get the next two week over with then the miscarriage risk from CVS drops to below 1% and my miscarriage risk is lower in general as I am 13w +2 today EDD 13th October xx

So I've just booked my 16w midwife appointment (i'll actually be 17w)) but they said it's not over the phone as long as I'm not symptomatic I go to my GP's as normal -I'm a little concerned as some GP's on the TV have been saying that patients have been lying about their symptoms so they can get seen and they've actually got corona virus!! Xx

OP posts:
Hatepickinganame · 07/04/2020 09:54

@BooMamaBear i havent even rung my gp yet, i probably should. It'll be about 4 weeks before my first appointment so im hoping this will all be calming down! And keeping everything crossed the next couple of weeks go smoothly for you, you deserve it after everything youve been through! X

BooMamaBear · 07/04/2020 10:03

Thanks @Hatepickinganame -I didn't call my GP til 5 weeks it was before all this kicked off though I was booked in a couple of days later as I had to be booked in before my dating scan which was set for 7+5! At that time the Corona Virus wasn't even heard of it was affecting China but wasn't widely reported!! Xx

@boomamabear ive just called them, first appointment all booked in for the end of the month and as long as oh is fit and healthy he can come with me 😊 now just to wait i guess! Although ive already started looking online at baby stuff haha

BooMamaBear · 07/04/2020 10:38

Not liked at baby stuff yet already gilt a DD so won't need loads of new stuff for our new daughter Will probably end up buying new stuff everyday I would think - been looking at maternity clothes though coz I'm already having to wear maternity trousers coz my Timmy doesn't fit in my old trousers think its mainly water retention! Xxxx

@BooMamaBear @Hatepickinganame I only booked in yesterday, I have my appointment on the 20th (scan & harmony bloods) and tbh I'm so nervous! I'm just worried it's in there not growing. The only positive (although negative) is that I'm quite nauseated. I've been like this since 5 weeks and I feel like it's a bit early to be fucking honest. Maybe it's a girl 😂 I'm sat here trying to eat some pretzels for breakfast. Can't even stomach my tea. I'm only 6weeks. I've never been this sick this early.

Re baby stuff -well I have all boys so if it's a boy we have enough clothes for it's entire life. I am the owner of a multitude of baby items including 5 buggies so if I buy something new my husband will divorce me haha. However all of my maternity clothes were dumped so I do need to buy new stuff but that won't be for a while yet.

Needallthesleep · 07/04/2020 18:38

@calimommy yes I’ve got exactly the same thought that there is a baby in there not growing. Also still feeling sick which is giving me hope (and, I may be being crazy but I’m certain I felt a kick today). I’m 12+2 according to dates, or exactly 12 weeks according to the last dating scan I had. Scan is on Sat, it cannot come quick enough!

Hatepickinganame · 07/04/2020 19:16

@calimommy @needallthesleep im the same, worried that nothing in there is actually happening, especially cause i still have no symptoms except sore boobs! Is it wrong to keep doing tests for reassurance?! I mean i cant compare the lines really cause they are super dark already and ive seen that's a thing for people on the conception board.

calimommy · 07/04/2020 19:22

@Needallthesleep I'd feel pretty happy if I were you, it's good news if you've had a good scan already! If I have a good 8 week scan I will relax. I will know straight away when I see it if we are on the right path or not. My husband wanted to bring the children and sometimes I actually shake my head in wonder at him. Eh no.

professorastrocat · 07/04/2020 19:32

Ah I'm in the same boat as you both @Needallthesleep and @calimommy, scan isn't until next Thursday but can't come soon enough so I can stop worrying.

On another note does anyone else have ridiculously itchy boobs?? I wake myself up at night scratching!! 😆

calimommy · 07/04/2020 20:23

Actually I've just remembered that I have a home Doppler. No idea where it is, we've moved twice since the last guy. I'll have to root that out to use in a few weeks time once my uterus gets bigger. I know there are pros and cons to a home Doppler but for me personally I am a nurse and I know how to use it correctly and it really gave me great reassurance last time.

Hatepickinganame · 07/04/2020 20:50

@calimommy thats awesome that you can check yourself! Ive ordered two digi with weeks tests from amazon. They should arrive tomorrow and hopefully that will keep me sane for the next week or so 🤣

@professorastrocat nope just sore, not even really sore lol although i swear they are growing by the day. And i always seem to be eating now, boredom or pregnancy?!

Needallthesleep · 07/04/2020 20:50

Ha yes I started with the itching recently, had totally forgotten about that delightful aspect of pregnancy.

I’ve told my DH he’s getting the snip after this. I’m absolutely not doing pregnancy again!

professorastrocat · 07/04/2020 20:57

I'd not had any boob changes last pregnancy they didn't really change size! This time bigger and itchy! Must be the stretching skin.

I cannot forget my worst symptom from last time - heart burn! My god the amount of gaviscon I got through. That's a nice delight for later pregnancy 🙄
🤞 might be let off this time.

BooMamaBear · 07/04/2020 21:18

We used our doppler today my dad's a GP and showed my DH how to use it and read it correctly -my placenta is at the back so it's easier to find the baby Instead of the placenta,-heard a nice fast heartbeat it took him a while to find her and she kept moving!! Xxx

OP posts:
littletandme · 07/04/2020 21:34

@professorastrocat oh god I had to have a bottle of gaviscon by the bed with DD, I developed a taste for it by the end 😂

Anon87 · 08/04/2020 07:26

@Hatepickinganame RE: Boobs! I'm still suffering. 4-7 weeks they were on fire. ALL THE TIME!! The fire died down but I still cant be without bra or support top unless Im straight into a hot shower. Found that my sports bra is the best investment I've ever made. I dread to think what size I'll make it to this time 😭

Hatepickinganame · 08/04/2020 07:55

@Anon87 i took my bra off last night and nearly cried! Really, really sore boobs now. Think my sports bra will be dragged out soon, and im definitely gonna need to bra shop, mine already feel too small. Its also reassuring though, sore boobs mean something is still happening in there 😊😊

Hhdxx · 08/04/2020 08:37

I've not been on here for a few days!

So if I'm reading correctly, some people can go to their scans with their partners? I've got my scan in just over a week. Is anyone in the same boat as me having to go alone? I couldn't even go to the hospital for my first appointment so blood tests have been delayed. I live in Lancashire btw.

@BooMamaBear congratulations. I'm sorry it's late... I'm really pleased for you xxx

@Hatepickinganame congratulations xxxxxx

My morning sickness seems to have gone. I'm just over 10 weeks now. Anyone else got this? My breasts aren't as sore either ahhhh should I be worrying? Xx
