@professorastrocat - I said I'd set up a graduates group I'm tentatively on here though coz if the test at 11 is bad news I'll be back on a bus! Everything so far seems ok as the test this morning says 3 + weeks got the midwife appt tomorrow xx

@Hhdxx totally normal for sickness to go at 10 weeks. With my last pregnancy mine went at 9 weeks and I was convinced I’d lost the baby. She’s now sat next to me watching Frozen (excellent parenting from me right now!).

And yes I’m having to go to my scan alone as well. I’m so sad about it as it’s the last time we will do this.

professorastrocat · 08/04/2020 09:19

Going alone too @Hhdxx for two reasons, we can't take our little boy with us anyway and also the hospital isn't allowing partners so either way I'd be on my own. I'll probably pay for some pictures. What date is your scan?

I think it's normal for the sickness go, I'm jealous as mine is still hanging around full force at 12+1.

professorastrocat · 08/04/2020 09:37

I think it's different for different trusts sadly. Pleased to see a message from you anyway @Hhdxx had wondered where you'd gone! There's a few others not heard from in a while too, probably too busy trying to entertain children at home (which reminds me....)

Talcott2007 · 08/04/2020 09:59

My NHS Scan is on 28th April - as it stands on going on my own, even if the rules change in the next 2 weeks and DH is allowed to come we have no one to look after DD. Hoping to be able to film it so he can see it at home - but the seems to be mixed messages about being able to do this.

BooMamaBear · 08/04/2020 11:13

@Hhdxx -thanks my sickness stopped around10 weeks too I've been wearing my sports bra at night since about week 5 coz my boobs are still really sore at 13+3!
I've also got some night time nursing bras which were a godsend with my DD coz I couldn't wear maternity bras for bed - they're similar to sports bras but they're cotton and have clips to make bf easier!
We told our DD last night it's a bit early but as she's 4.5 if anything went wrong (which I really hope doesn't happen) she'd probably know something was wrong! She's super excited at potentially having a little sister! We used the doppler so she could hear the heartbeat and showed her the scan picture! Also I didn't want her to worry about me being poorly with me having nausea for weeks and stomach aches and hospital appointments!
The consultant wanted my DH to come in with me but think it's coz I was having a test as well as a scan but he couldn't coz he needed to look after DD! But the signs outside the department said no partners Xx

On a complete different note: Cheeseburgers 🍔 Right now it's the only thing that will ruin my day if I don't get it for tea 😂 #SpoiltBrat

calimommy · 08/04/2020 17:11

@Anon87 all the restaurants and fast food places are still open for delivery/drive-thru so I've been taking the children to get a Happy Meal as a 'treat' 😂 they are delighted to go in the car anywhere tbh and I'm happy not to cook (yet another fucking meal). Pre-children I thought I would never feed my children garbage McDonald's food. Three children and a Pandemic later I'm pulling up like "hey Sharon how's everything? Yeah I'll take three Calimommy Meals please. Thanks"
💀

Anon87 · 08/04/2020 17:21

@calimommy We've had a couple of takeout pizzas and a kebab night the past 3 weeks but I know we've got huge burgers in the freezer and I want them!
But..... I saw one of them foodie videos on Facebook and made spicy sausage and bean bake last night, he's adamant we're finishing the left overs tonight.
Let's see who wins the war... 🍲🍔

calimommy · 08/04/2020 17:24

@Anon87 my husband is hilarious. He was there making a second sandwich the other day and turns to me and says "we should start thinking about rationing so we don't have to go to the shops so often" oh good idea mate 🙄😂

Anon87 · 08/04/2020 18:02

@calimommy He's just offered to do us burgers and wedges! I'll definitely keep him for a bit longer 🙌🏼🙌🏼😂

Poor DD got a grilling when she opened the fridge, eyed up the strawberries and declared "I'm well having them in a milkshake", maybe I went OTT but my point was right saying that finding treats and bits of shopping is getting harder and she can't just assume she can just have, there may already be a plan for them....
I've also made a chocolate orange tray bake and that's been going down well.

Hatepickinganame · 08/04/2020 18:22

@Hhdxx thank you! Still feels crazy. I did a digi with the weeks thing and it says 2-3 so all looking good and i feel a little calmer now 😀 all this food talk is making me hungry and literally all i have done today is eat! Must. Step. Away. From. The. Fridge.

BooMamaBear · 09/04/2020 13:45

So I was reading google and it said with your second pregnancy and a posterior placenta it is possible to feel the baby move at 13 weeks i was googling as I've been getting butterflies in my tummy very occasionally and there no reason for them so I'm wandering if I'm feeling her move I'm 13+4! Xx

littletandme · 09/04/2020 14:44

Anyone else's OH not giving them any sympathy in their second pregnancy? I was yawning last night and he was like oh behave you're only 5 weeks 🙄 cheers love, I'm only creating a human from scratch!

littletandme · 09/04/2020 14:46

@BooMamaBear I had a posterior placenta with my first and felt nothing till past 20 weeks, hoping to feel movements much earlier this time!

BooMamaBear · 09/04/2020 15:32

Yes in your first pregnancy regardless of where your placenta is you don't usually feel movements until 17--25 weeks!
I was about 19 weeks first time around!
I'm not getting much sympathy he does do things for me and has done most of the cooking bless him but then he gets annoyed that I can't carry on doing all the house stuff as I'm too tired or had really bad tummy pain and got the little one at home to entertain so I'm not quite getting it all done!! Xxx

professorastrocat · 09/04/2020 16:33

Aw I get what you're saying @littletandme and I think my OH is the same. I keep saying I'm this and that and he says yeah I feel that too or I think everyone's feeling tired at the minute and disregards the pregnancy element of things.
I think there's a misconception with pregnancy (whether people realise they think that way or not) that you're only doing hard work when you're big. Whereas so much of the building of a human is done in the first trimester, the rest is growing, so that's why it's particularly hard on us. And this is the period when nobody knows aswell!

I personally think that if we know our family and friends can cope with the possibility of miscarriage we should tell people when we like and when we need the support! Unless you know for a fact you would also go through the grief of miscarriage alone too to save them, I guess.

calimommy · 09/04/2020 17:00

@professorastrocat I agree. Everyone feels differently about it but I saw another person say they didn't want to tell their family and friends because they didn't want to get their hopes up if it ended in MC and I thought, fuck that. It's not their disappointment I'm worried about, it's mine! 😂😜

Anon87 · 09/04/2020 18:00

@littletandme DP thought it was hilarious how early I was going to bed and all the naps I'd have in them brand new weeks considering i'm an absolute night owl. He was super supportive with the cooking and cleaning and checking in.

Seems to have eased up a bit recently 🤔 We went for a walk today and I was complaining about my stomach hurting. (Foody stuff, I just know I'm gonna spend the night running to the loo 😭) But I was meant to be making a big tea tonight but at the minute I can't turn over in bed without a fire pain shooting down my intestines and he "pfffft" me. He's lucky I can barely move and am not wearing pants! (The pressure off the band is doing my head in) 😂😂

littletandme · 09/04/2020 18:17

@Anon87 my DH was amazing when DD was born, doing cooking and cleaning etc. Since I went back to work full time over a year ago he has done more of the childcare than me (he works shifts so often gets long runs of days off during the week) and even more so since we've been in lockdown and she hasn't been at nursery twice a week. I honestly can't praise him enough, but DD is still a mummy's girl so he doesn't really get much reward bless him. He is really looking forward to me being on maternity leave!!

Hhdxx · 09/04/2020 20:25

Thank you everyone for your replies. I've felt a little sick again this morning but might just be because I'm anxious? I just can't sleep properly.

I hope everyone is well. Can't wait for my scan but also really nervous. What can I expect? I reckon I'll only be 11 weeks and a few days maybe? Maybe just 11 weeks 1 day? What will I see? Xx

littletandme · 09/04/2020 21:57

@Hhdxx you should still see a pretty recognisable baby even that early, it all depends on how clear the scan is. Try to drink a pint of water an hour before your appointment if you think you can hold it until after the scan, it will help push your uterus up and sometimes this means a clearer scan Smile

Hhdxx · 09/04/2020 22:03

@littletandme thanks for advice I'm looking forward to it 😁 I just hope everything is ok xx

littletandme · 09/04/2020 22:22

This was my scan with DD but I was 14+3 by the time I had my appointment. Couldn't believe how clear it was!

@BooMamaBear It's the right hip and lower abdomen for me. My right leg is pretty much useless 😂
I thought (and still do) that it maybe food related and a dodgy tummy but now I'm overanalysing and praying it's not appendicitis 🙈
Hope you feel better soon x
