@professorastrocat - I said I'd set up a graduates group I'm tentatively on here though coz if the test at 11 is bad news I'll be back on a bus! Everything so far seems ok as the test this morning says 3 + weeks got the midwife appt tomorrow xx

I am exactly the same as @professorastrocat. People remarked at how tiny I was with my first pregnancy. This time I am enormous. I’m 11 weeks tomorrow.

@Wise0wl I’m not coping! Had a bit of an emotional meltdown yesterday. How are you?

@BooMamaBear amazing news about the NT. keeping all fingers crossed. I can’t imagine what it must have been like. At least it’s all over now

BooMamaBear · 31/03/2020 19:05

Thanks ladies also she said I'm measuring 12+2 which is further along than I thought as I thought I'd be 11+5! Xx

Ah @Needallthesleep I’m sorry - I’m also finding it tough. All day sickness is a bit better today as I’ve been eating loads of popcorn which has helped! Have you managed to get out for a walk or anything?

BooMamaBear · 01/04/2020 12:17

@Needallthesleep -thanks but the worst part is now- waiting for the MD result 50:50 chance I'll have to have a TFMR I should get the results Tuesday -even though I'm over 12 weeks there's still a 1% miscarriage risk from the CVS for the next 2 weeks!!
I just really hope this one is my healthy one then No more TTC or baby making for me I'm 35 and my daughter is 4 so if this one doesn't work out the risk due to my age will be higher and the age gap will be quite large!! Xxx

Has anyone here had an early scan recently? I really want to have one but DH is reluctant as he thinks it's an unnecessary risk during lockdown. The earliest I'd get one would be two weeks on Sunday when I'd be 6+4, I wonder if lockdown will be a little less strict by then or if I should just book it anyway as the clinic already has very strict cleaning procedures and they've told me the staff all wear gloves and masks.

Talcott2007 · 01/04/2020 14:01

I had an early private scan on 21st March - I should have been 7+2/3 weeks based on LMP but measured slightly smaller at 6+5. For me it was worth it - the dating bit was quite important as there are some medications I will need to start before I hit 12w due to a preexisting condition. I had to go on my own though as we had no childcare for DD. I'd say as long as you don't have to brave public transport to get there you wouldn't be at greater risk.

Hhdxx · 01/04/2020 14:06

@littletandme congratulations
I'd recommend it. I had mine and she said I was 7 weeks 2 days. I think I'm a bit further along though. Where about do you live? I have to go alone for my 12 weeks scan because of Corona virus and want my husband to be there as we've gone through a lot to get here. Are you able to take your partner with you? Xxx

littletandme · 01/04/2020 14:16

@Hhdxx I live in the north east. We have the choice of two hospitals here but the midwives in my area don't work for the hospital I will be under which I chose for having DD as well, so they might not know what the current procedures are for that hospital. I think the rules may have changed by another 8 weeks time. If I went for an early private scan and DH was to come we'd have to bring DD.

professorastrocat · 01/04/2020 14:29

Congrats @littletandme great to see you here! 🥳🥳

I've not had an early scan and still have to wait 2 weeks until Nhs scan....it's been a long wait!!

BooMamaBear · 01/04/2020 14:41

These vivid dreams are crazy I had a dream last night that I started bleeding red blood and I woke up panicking! Think it's the stress related to CVS!
I had an early scan at 7+5 which is what I thought which meant my scan yesterday I should have been 11+5 but they said I was 12+2 so an early scan isn't always accurate anyway! It is reassuring to see the heartbeat tho! Xx

@BooMamaBear my 12 week scan was totally off by 6 days with DD which by my cycle when I conceived was impossible. But I think they are so small at that point (even more so with an early scan) it's easy to get the measurements slightly wrong. DD ended up being 9 days late so closer to my original dates than the scan date!

Hhdxx · 01/04/2020 15:12

@littletandme glad you can have it done and take your husband with you. I wish I could x

@BooMamaBear I've had this quite a few times too... They're horrible aren't they? I run to the toilet and check xxx

littletandme · 01/04/2020 15:25

Booked in an early scan for 26th April, eeek. Still another 3.5 weeks to wait but nothing compared to waiting for the 12 week one!

If the situation hasn't changed I think I'll be going on my own as I don't want to risk DD touching stuff, at least if it's just me then I can be as cautious as possible.

calimommy · 01/04/2020 15:45

@littletandme I've always had scans at 8 weeks. When I lived at home my GP did an 8week scan -she had an ultrasound in her surgery for a variety of reasons and she personally liked to do a quick scan at that point to check the embryo was growing and in the right place. This was how I found out that my second pregnancy was not growing even before I miscarried. Then I moved to the states and they do scans at 7/8 weeks, much for the same reason. They also do the harmony test at that point (to check for syndromes) so I will be able to find out if there is a Y chromosome present by 10 weeks! (If not then it's a girl) My first two were a surprise at birth but we found out with the last baby and I'll find out this time too. I have three boys so if it's a girl I'll be very surprised. I'm just assuming it's a boy atm 😜

professorastrocat · 01/04/2020 17:51

I'm sure I read somewhere that earlier scans can actually be more accurate date wisethan at 12 weeks. I don't think my 12 weeks scan dating was accurate with my first at all and possibly led to more fuss than necessary about his size at 39 when he probably wasn't 39 weeks. 🤷‍♀️ It will be interesting this time as I pretty much know dates to the day so if they say it's a weeks difference or whatever like last time I'll have my doubts!

Anon87 · 01/04/2020 19:07

@littletandme Helloooooo, trying to skim through and catch up after a couple of days and here's your name! Congratulations 🥳

littletandme · 01/04/2020 19:14

@Anon87 hellooooo!! When are you due again? Grin

Wise0wl · 01/04/2020 21:55

Congrats @littletandme! So glad you’re here 🥳

BooMamaBear · 01/04/2020 22:28

Earlier scans are more accurate for dating reasons but if they have an earlier scan to compare to they do adjust the date from the 12 week scan coz they can see how much the baby is growing! If it's only a few days difference don't suppose it matters too much -it doesn't for me anyway coz if I make it to full term I'd have to be induced at 39 weeks!
I should find out on Friday whether this one is a boy or girl! But I don't find out if it's healthy til Tuesday! Xx

littletandme · 02/04/2020 07:06

@Anon87 period was due yesterday, been getting vvvv faint squinters since 9dpo (last Friday) and first proper obvious line at 11dpo! This is this mornings which is my last FRER and taken about 5 minutes ago Grin
